The staff is horrible. There's been one nice nurse and dr everyone else is rude and acts like you're bothering them.

I would give it a zero stars super rude nurses never saw a Dr was having internal bleeding they gave me an x-ray for my chest told me I could pee in a cup and go home yeah then they gave me somebody else's blood work they never took my blood they gave me somebody else's blood work trying to show me that they took my blood which I know for 100% sure didn't my friend was there with me they never tried to take blood from me and if they did it would take them an hour an hour and a half to even get a one vial I'm that hard so I know for sure they didn't anyways they're terrible terrible trouble trouble trouble I would I could have died the night I went home I was in so much pain I was bleeding for my butt it was very terrible I mean they're looking at severe trouble for me I'm telling you so anyways if I was you I would rather drive the extra time to get to any other hospital in the world but that one because they'll just let you die in the room The doctor never even came in to say hi to me nothing and the nurses were extremely rude rude rude rude rude rude rude rude I've never seen nurses be so rude in my life worst hospital I've ever been to in the 56 years I've been alive by far hands down I've never been to a hospital that's ever ever had such incompetency and so it's rudeness and terrible terrible terrible terrible dealing with patients leave you in a room for hours and give me a chest x-ray because I'm bleeding from my abdomen how does that make any sense to anybody geez they're lucky I seen a different hospital the next day and I'll just say well I won't say anything at all I'll just leave it at that can't make up false documents and give them to somebody and say that you did them That's insane the whole hospital was creepy and fucking rude I hated it it was a worst experience I've ever had in my life I went home crying hysterically thinking I was going to die and God I went to hospital the next morning and they actually did help me and I didn't die so boy oh boy they are in for it so you better buckle up buttercup read more

I'm not a person that does reviews or comments. After my recent visit to your facility I feel compelled to share my thoughts. I hate Drs and any kind of medical facilities. DR Teach has changed my opinion in this regard. Not only was his treatment amazing he was informative about what was going on but also followed up with me personally after treatment. One of the worst emergency care places I've ever been to, and I've been to many -from Seattle to Fresno to San Diego. For some strange reason, the nursing staff is just out to get patients and their families. Perhaps it was a night shift, but to be this disrespectful and neglectful is above and beyond unacceptable. My mom had to be taken here after our very bad car accident. Instead of providing appropriate care, the nursing staff left the patient in pain for hours, delayed imaging, and then didn't let family members assist the patient in mobility, making the patient move around herself without helping her! My mom ended up having broken ribs and a bruised spleen, among a few other issues (which this hospital completely neglected to find due to extremely poor imaging quality and lack of competence). The bedside manners were non-existent. read more

On April 30, 2024 my husband, James Gilligan, was transported to Exceptional Hospital via ambulance. That night while getting up for a drink of water he collapsed on the floor. Unable to rise I called EMT's who escorted him to the ambulance. On arrival Jim was admitted to emergency, given a CT and lab work. The doctor came in and said that the tests didn't reveal any abnormalities. He was discharged from the hospital with the recommendation that he follow up with his primary care physician. Jim mentioned that he had a history of strokes and a brain bleed but again the Doctor reiterated that he was unable to find any abnormalities and Jim was promptly discharged. We required a wheelchair to get to the car. Later in the day Jim grew increasingly weak. With the help of a neighbor we managed to get into the car and I transported him to the YRMC emergency in the foothills. JIm was admitted immediately and sent to the YRMC in Yuma where he was given a MRI and diagnosed with a severe stroke. Why he wasn't transferred to YRMC at the point of discharge from Exceptional is not understandable. Strokes need to be addressed quickly. read more

Exceptional Hospital lives up to their name! They were extremely kind and the entire staff was prompt on taking care of their patients. We arrived at 11 am and were taken directly back to the room. Labs, imaging, pain medication, results were all completed within a four hour timeframe. We were extremely happy. They also gave us a folder with all the information we needed to give to our primary care doctor so they know what tests were run and the lab results. Very impressive highly recommended! read more

Staff is fine. Beware the billing department. We didn't even get a bill for months and now there s no easy way to make a payment. They have a lot of improving to do before I ever return which is too bad as I was hopeful that a competitor to YRMC would lead to better service. read more

This is not a hospital. They will not help you. Only if a walk in and get you out as fast as possible. I know for a fact. Today is the one year anniversary of my girl friends death. I could not get her in the car. Si I called an ambulance. R m F. They ask if they could take her there. I didn't know that they were not going to help her. I ask and demanded that they send her YRMC. He the doctor said he would call. He said to me they didn't want her. So they wanted to release her. There were signs she could not move her toes on her right foot. And could not get up even with my help. So it took another month with me taking care of her. Come to find out two months later that she had a stanois in her lower back. The Nero surgeon came back after finally having surgery. He said her nerves are smashed . He wouldn't let me ask questions. So I got her back home and in rehab she lost slowly the ability to move her legs and arms. Then she come down with namonia. Got her to the hospital after two days. They released her. Put her in rehab. I got sick. And could not made it the next day she could not push the buttons on a remote she could only move her head. That day she was chocking on her saliva cause of aspirating no one was there with her she developed a stroke and they got her to the hospital and sent her back to Phoenix BTH where they put her on machines to keep her body going. I was so surprised i felt like dieing. She was gone. Come to find out that her muscles in her chest were from her nerves. She was going to die from it soon. No one told me any thing about what was happening to her. No one cares they just want there money. This place is not a hospital. They will not help. read more

It's just after midnight and my daughter began complaining of another ear ache. She's had several since we moved to Yuma this last April (2024). I decided to bring her Exceptional Community Hospital ER. (It was suggested by several moms in a FB post a couple weeks ago. So Thank You to all the moms that suggested this ER). As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I saw maybe 2/3 vehicles. Walking into the ER, someone was leaving and the lobby was empty. We were immediately checked in and by the time I was on the last sheet of paperwork, my daughter's name was already being called. At first glance of the lobby, it was clean and didn't stink, which was refreshing. The front rest reception was very nice and had a smile, which was very welcoming. As we walked into the back, a very nice nurse took her vitals with a smile and then led us into a nice, clean "room". She asked several questions and said the doctor would be in shortly. So far, everything had been great and non stressful. My daughter was in a lot of pain, but she was comfortable on the bed and even stated, "this place is nice" and "the sheets are soft". When the doctor came in, he came with a smile and asked, "So what's going on?" After explaining the situation, he checked my daughter's ears and throat and confirmed an ear infection. He then explained how he was going to treat her and suggested we see a Pediatric ENT. I explained we already have an appointment with someone here in Yuma and I showed him which doctor she had the appointment with and where. He then suggested that we get an appointment with Phoenix Children's Hospital instead, which I will be scheduling later today. The appointment I had originally wasn't until September 26th (that was the soonest I could get her in). After making sure he answered all of my questions and concerns, he left the room. Shortly after, another nurse came in with Motrin, a dose of each medicine that the doctor prescribed, a water bottle, and an apple juice box for my daughter. Being that no pharmacy's are open this late (2am), this made me extremely happy. This nurse was also very nice, had a beautiful smile, and seem to genuinely care. She took her time to explain what medications she was giving my daughter and also explained the after care paperwork she was handing me. Once we were all through, we walked out of the room and each nurse said goodbye and even said, "I hope you feel better" to my daughter. Walking out of triage, the check out receptionist said we were all good. It's now 3am and my daughter is in bed, fast asleep. Overall, our experience here at Exceptional Community Hospital was GREAT. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to be seen immediately. We were treated with the upmost care and will definitely return, if needed. UN EXCEPTIONAL I am going to disclose that I have a medical background. My husband took me here because it was later in the evening, and I could not walk as a result of extremely severe left knee pain. I needed a wheelchair to get in and I sat in the waiting room in a wheelchair for at least an hour before I was called into the back. I was placed in a room attached to a monitor and a pulse ox, and given a blanket. after waiting a good period of time a tech came in and said he was taking me to x-ray so I'm thinking I don't need an x-ray. I don't have any broken bones. This is soft tissue damage, but I'll play along - doctors like to rule things out as they try to guess what's wrong with you. The monitor in my room alarmed once every minute and no one came in to check it or fix it. I doubt that they were even monitoring my vitals. The next person came in after quite a long wait, was an extremely arrogant and rude doctor. he didn't even look at my knee for swelling or fluid on the joint. He simply stood in front of me and said that he had seen my x-ray as he was obligated to review it and I'm thinking, hmmm - obligated - not a very compassionate choice of words. No broken bones etc. I'm thinking duh. He asked what medication I was taking and when I told him, he said there was nothing more he could do for me. WOW, if I had only gone to urgent care I could've received a shot of Toradol and a shot of steroids and advice on how to deal with the inflammation that was causing the excruciating pain. He did finally offer a shot of pain medicine. This was after waiting an additional 2 hours. After receiving the shot about a half an hour later, I receive discharge papers, and I expressed my request for a shot of steroids. The nurse said she'd go out and ask the doctor - he refused. So basically, I left the place in a wheelchair in NO better situation then I arrived after waiting six hours for service. They do unnecessary tests, are very uncaring, and quite frankly seem very amateu. save your time and money folks and go elsewhere! read more

I've been here 2 times. Once for my son and one time for me. With that being said, it's an excellent ER. The staff is superb. They're efficient, thorough and professional. Short wait time and the doctors/nps are great. Labs process very quickly. The billing system is a little slow and difficult to navigate but the billing department staff are wonderful to work with. read more

I had the unfortunate visit to this place went in with chest pains met with the doctor, he came into the room. He stood so far away, like I had leprosy didn't listen to my heart nothing he just said what's wrong went out of the room nurse came in they gave me some morphine, and some nitroglycerin ran a whole bunch of tests, and then said well we're not equipped to do cardiac will have to transfer you do Yuma regional that was six hours later very disappointed in the doctors bedside manner felt Like he just didn't care would not recommend this place.
