The restaurant is outstanding- shout out to the top notch kitchen staff, chefs, servers, especially Russell! The activities are very diverse, so many options- cultural, educational, fitness, socials, it is amazing! Brand along is a powerhouse! This woman does it all as far as keeping residents engaged and she does it so well, always smiling, even through her own physical pain! She truly deserves a raise! Corey is the Executive Director Assistant and is very caring, hard working and extremely helpful! When he says there is an open door policy, he means it. I highly recommend taking a tour of the facility if you or a loved one are looking for a lovely assisted living facility.

I was writing around in the bed, to the point where I almost fell off. Tried to get help but my room was at the very end of the hallway and someone closed my door, without asking, and I yelled for help without success. When help finally came, after who knows how long, I was almost on the floor. I confronted the night nurse about my closed door and why wasn't rounds done during the night to check on patients, her answer was that they give out meds. at certain times, as well as meals and that's when they see patients. So, I said that we have to go by their schedule instead of the other way around- they're supposed to be looking after the residents there as that is their job. I could not believe how backwards her thinking was and leaving the residents in a potentially dangerous situation. Obviously, she, as well as the night staff, either need to be better trained about how to care for residents at their facility, or relieved of their duties. I ended up going to the ER and never returned to that awful place. Addendum: Received a reply from the Director, stating that I was at "The Springs at the Carlotta" not The Carlotta. Very confusing. I apologize but having 2 separate facilities at the same location, with virtually the same name, is very confusing. The above review was meant for The Springs at the Carlotta. Cannot find this facility on Yelp but will continue to try or write to them directly. Again, sorry for the confusion.

So this review has a background of research in the desert area in which choices were available and fortunately finances did not get in the way of choices. I have been to the care facilities rated well and those not so well...and there are factors that I learned which are most important making your decision...size, care concern of the staff, administration, activities, actual accomodation, cleanliness, and sound ( you would be surprised how loud some places are due to room placement, thin walls, guests sitting alone in a hallway or inefficient response to call buttons so the place is just bells going off and sadly the lone patient or resident yelling for help.) I have visited the ones with stunning grounds and lobbies only to find the rooms dated and the staff overworked or doing the minimum to keep your loved ones alive. I have seen medical mistakes where fail safe systems failed due to staff not following protocol. So if I have to say one thing to anyone looking for their parent don't be fooled by the whistles and bells, don't be fooled by the fancy exterior or lobbies or a few lounges truly look inside. So now my review...Emeritus has been a consistent oasis for my parents. first my dad in their skilled nursing then my mom in both skilled and assisted living. ( Please note: I made a mistake for three weeks sending my mom elsewhere to another skilled facility in Palm Desert that allegedly had a great reputation with the pretty lobby and grounds etc but it turned out to be a place whose reputation did not match its care level and was more hype.Though the staff had competent members, mistakes were made too many times for comfort) this is to show my review is not solitary I visited numerous facilities while researching a place for my parent(s) Emeritus is clean, a quiet place where your parent or loved one can heal if in skilled nursing, they actually care and learn names, and work to improve your loved ones well being...you never sense the business side only the care side and they make the effort to comfort your parent and your concerns (only complaint which is common in skilled nursing was the food but you don't go there expecting fine dining). Their assisted living is lovely small quaint with activities. The RNs and CNAs are top notch and interact with guests, and know everything that's going on at anytime with all their guests and management is great. Accommodations are clean well thought out and with huge closets ( ok that may not be important to you but when your parent down sizes the ability to keep a lot of their personal clothes and items is very important) food is better ;) I simply can't say enough about this facility it's a little gem. And being across the street from Eisenhower hospital near many doctors is a plus. Now I don't know about other emeritus properties I can only judge this one, so this review is only about Rancho Mirage. So when you begin to look, consider this property for your parent and your piece of mind when you go home just knowing he or she is in safe hands is vital....because in the end that is all that matters.

In one phone…read morecall, she was able to help me solve an issue with scheduling a post-surgery home health nurse for my husband--when our hospital's home health team failed to deliver on their promise of providing qualified home health care. Natalie was extremely professional. She listened to our post-surgery nursing needs, suggested a staffing plan which, incidentally, was outside of her company's scope of services since I wanted insurance to cover the expense, and then she went the extra mile to help coordinate with the 3rd party she referred to ensure they could help me. If the insurance provider referred doesn't work out, you can be assured I will be using Natalie's services and paying out of pocket. Her pricing for an RN or LVN was extremely fair and reasonable. And, if her staff is as attentive and goes the extra mile like Natalie, you can be guaranteed that you'll get the excellent care your loved ones deserve.
