Staff is great!! Service is great! Rooms are great! In fact I would have given it 4-5 stars if it weren't for the fact the internet is near 3rd world speeds. I don't know how they can advertise they offer internet at all. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write a negative review as I had a positive experience a few years ago but I just stayed there recently (august 2012) and I had a disgusting experience that I needed to share My boyfriend booked a room for my bday - which we mentioned to the girl at the front. Maybe this is wrong but I thought that they may say "oh have a free breakfast" or send us strawberries or something but nothing... Almost any other hotel I've stayed at (Sheraton centre in Toronto, ceasers palace in Vegas, etc) always do something for a special occasion but it's fine So everything seems fine. We spend the night and when we wake up, the sheet had moved slightly, showing the mattress and mattress pad, which was COVERED in stains First I thought it was just 1 stain and I ignorded it But when my boyfriend moved the sheet, we saw a disgusting, stained mattress and mattress pad (we took photos - ill need to upload them here) The stains were of god knows what and we both felt disgusting that we had just slept on this bed covered in other people's stains When we called, we were told someone would come up to see them - did they think we made it up maybe? After waiting 15 minutes, no one came, which was quite irritating as it was a Sunday and we had brunch reservations and were waiting to leave Instead we just took pics and came down The head of housekeeping went to check and the girl at the front also had to check - which was more waiting. (10-15 minute extra delay... So much for a relaxing Sunday) Finally the girl at the front offered us 50% off My boyfriend felt this wasn't fair and we finally got our money back The front desk clerk assured us a manager would be in touch and would offer us a del to stay again as a "second chance", not that I would ever stay there again Well Eddie, the manager, did email us - to say [not his exact words] "sorry about the experience. Hope your refund was enough for you" I wa very unimpressed with the service - I shouldn't need to spend 30-45 minutes because their beds are stained And I think a "4 star boutique" hotel should have higher cleaning standards Very disappointing read more

I booked this on my way to Toronto through the Hotel Tonight app. When I arrived the staff seemed unorganized and unapproachable. That was fine, however the room was filthy. I was there for a concert that night and left the next morning, disappointed and dirty because the shower wasn't even clean. read more

The hotel absolutely serves its purpose, an affordable place to lay your head. The washroom set up is decent the door for the shower is oddly placed doesn't completely close so I had to be careful not to soak the floor. Had some trouble with the elevator but nothing the staff couldn't help with. Had a great view of the CN tower. Overall decent place ! read more

Hotel was ok.. more like a condo. View I had was great Clean to an extent, 8/10 Staff very friendly Shouldn't have to pay for all of the snacks & drinks on display in the room Wouldn't go back read more

Really good, quiet, clean. For the love of God, though CDN$12 for 24 hours of wireless service? Wake up, people it's 2011. Negotiate free wireless with them when you make a reservation. read more

I was going to give this hotel 4 stars based on customer service, room quality, check in, location etc....but I have to say....BASIC CABLE? Come on...we have stayed in other hotels that are cheaper and far less desirable with a full list of channels. I feel like this hotel is running a racket because there are plenty of "on demand" channels/movies you can purchase if you so choose. Also, the parking is a redicluous amount...40 per day! Just remember that when you are booking and if you have a car. Great views if you are above the 23rd floor...other than that, we would pass on this hotel next time around. read more

A beautiful and reasonably-priced hotel in the heart of Toronto. Very clean and modern, and quiet (I could barely hear the people in the room above having shrieking sex at 3am). The restaurant is small and intimate and served a nice dinner. My only grudges: the room is underlit, and the meagre breakfast buffet, overseen by an uncaring staff, was pathetic and overpriced. read more

I wanted to go 4-5 stars... i actually love the set up of this hotel, plus the location is great IMO. I try to have a kitchen whenever I travel, so that's its biggest plus! However that's where my issues come in. I almost don't think they really expect you to use it! I would suggest hotel management really take a look at making a check list for stocking the kitchen for use with each guest and have housekeeping sign off on it each time. I shouldn't have to call for knives and be brought one...after 2 request to the front desk (1st one unfulfilled). Common kitchen sense for a hotel with kitchens... would be dish towel, dish cloth. roll of paper towel and couple dish washer gel packs. Also you cant cook with one dull steak knife... add one chefs knife to each room and a cutting board. House keeping was great and i always tip them... that's how i received the items I needed most of the time, by leaving a note and a tip. 4-5 star hotel, once they get the details together... very cheap items could've made my review a glowing one. Maybe this is just my experience, but isn't that what matters when spending your money? Tip: a Zen suite is fine for 2 people enjoying the city... so if your thinking twice about going bigger its not that necessary. Go bigger is u want to lock yourself in a room for a few days or have more than 2. Note: balcony is a bonus and hotel staff was nice.. however details, details! read more

Stayed at the Cosomo for two nights and NEVER wanted to leave. Location is perfect, our room was absolutely beautiful and the restaurant was delicious. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Toronto! read more

Avoid avoid avoid! This hotel is terrible! It costs over $200 plus $40 parking per night. There was hair all over the bed sheets. Everything is so basic here. This is more of a 2.5 star hotel. read more

First impression: I am not cool enough for this hotel. Final verdict: Awesome hotel, great location, would stay here again. I was in the city for a few weeks, so a suite hotel was a must. It was handy having a dishwasher, fridge and microwave, though the fridge was just a tiny bar fridge and half of it was locked off for the booze (the small fridge was probably the thing I liked the least about this hotel). And ensuite laundry was also a huge bonus, I really felt a home. Great location - right by Yonge and King, lots to do nearby, easy access to public transit. The staff were outstanding, very friendly, very helpful. Wi-Fi was not included in our price (I believe that it is included in some packages), but we were able to work something out. Our room was beautiful and having a water fountain in the room was very relaxing after a long day of work. Our room was very spacious, though I was disappointed that the living room couch was so tiny, considering the size of the room (though I suppose it looked cool). A large glassed shower, good toiletries, and bathrobes were also a nice bonus. I definitely recommend this hotel, looking forward to staying here again. read more

Bought the room on a group discount site and so I was prepared to be put in whatever iteration of their worst room would be. I was not. Instead I had a suite with a little kitchen with pots and pans, and even a washer dryer. So cute! My husband and I agreed we've lived in much smaller apartments. The staff was welcoming and professional. The front desk guy was even awake and cheerful when I got back at 3 am! We would have appreciated free wifi and a free cup of coffee in the morning instead of having to pay for a whole breakfast we didn't want while we waited for the valet to bring-up our car. But, we had a big room in downtown Toronto that was clean, smelled good and didn't cost a fortune. We'd definitely go back. And bring our dirty clothes! read more

Was great for our 2 day stay in Toronto. Clean, very new and modern, friendly employees. Wrap around balcony, fridge, full kitchen in our room. Right next to King subway stop. Found online for ~$120/night. Will definitely go again if in Toronto. Nothing else in the area looked as classy for as good of a price. read more

I had a great experience on my stay in Toronto. I was at the hotel for 2 nights and my room was more like a small apartment with a mini kitchen and separate bedroom area. There is some street noise which is to be expected staying in a downtown area. The hotel is centrally located and I was able to walk to the main attractions I wanted to see. read more

Had a nice relaxing stay. Quiet environment since there are only a few rooms per floor. Cleaning staff could perhaps use some re-training as there was fruit salad left over in the fridge that had expired a couple of months prior to our visit. read more

Excellent hotel. Located in toronto downtown with a 6 blocks walk to eaton center or lake front either sides. Nice rooms with big windows and good views of CN towers from the higher floor. Has problems with the keys to the room but apart from that, the stay was good. Very friendly staff read more

Excellent service and nice room. Can get a little noisy outside if you're there on a weekend but that's to be expected. I've been here four times now and it remains consistent. The spot is fantastic, too. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in July for two nights and had a wonderful experience. We arrived in the worst thunder and lightening rain storm Toronto had seen in a long time, so downtown was chaotic. Subways were down, traffic accidents everywhere. The staff was very accommodating and helpful despite the chaos in the area. We went to a nice restaurant nearby and then made reservations at the hotel's small intimate restaurant for the next night. Their restaurant is absolutely delightful! We loved the food, had great service and a lovely bottle of wine. Staff at the Cosmopolitan is friendly and helpful. Our room was very modern and upscale, which we loved and breakfast the next morning was healthy and lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel! read more

This is the furthest from a 4 star hotel you can get! Extremely dirty, oddly configured rooms- comforter all stained and sheets that didn't fit the bed properly.....ugh! Bathroom shower curtain and shower scuzzy, lamp at bedside table so dirty we wouldn't turn it on! Walls all scuffed, you would have to have a very low level of cleanliness to stay in a place like this! read more

I am giving this hotel (if you want to call it that) a 2 star solely for the reason that the cleaning lady does her job. The experience my wife and I have had here has truly been disgusting. Our stay here has been nothing short of uncomfortable, with the heat that we have had during our 8 night stay here we would've expected to have an air conditioner that would work consistently rather than intermittently. Our room upon our arrival was comparable to that of a truck stop motel, there were black marks all over the walls, half or less of the lights work and the furniture is all beat up, somewhat like that of a ragged 80's horror movie. The customer service agents at the front desk seemed like they cared for our comfort and offered us another room however after opening the door to the "new" room we decided that the first room would've been better considering we would've actually had some light to see where we were going and the place smelled like it was a sweat shop. We will most definitely never be staying in another Cosmopolitan Hotel again unless of course if I need a nice horror movie background then I will be sure to call. read more

This was a great hotel! The room had everything that we needed. A nice comfy clean bed, clean kitchen area and a nice modern bathroom. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful with everything to make sure our stay went well. Also the folks in restaurant were some of the kindest people. Allen made some great drinks and being from out of town he recommended fun things to do locally. It was a nice pleasant experience. I would go back and recommend this hotel to other people. read more

Forced to find a new hotel with the recent closing of the sutton place (miss SP's great location, friendly staff, helpful concierges) i checked out cosmopolitan. As with SP, i like to have a kitchen area so i can at least have some breakfast or lunches in the room and just as importantly have a fridge for water and yes the occasional beer. Spoke to the staff and they will empty out the fridge of it's stocked overpriced products so you can use it. I paid a little extra to have a view of the lake (21st floor) and found it worth it. Small balcony if you dare to venture out but at minimum useful for cooling wine if outside temp is appropriate. Room is pretty quiet given locale in heart of downtown, never heard neighbors only outside noise but again fairly well minimized. Rooms although small are well appointed and space very effectively used with all rooms being small suites. Wireless access is decent but annoyingly like all higher priced places an add on. Only used the restaurant for a pizza which was very good. Read about the friday wine tasting at the bar but being an oenophile and checking out the selection i definitely passed. Exercise area is a stretch to say the least. Business centre is better referred to as a chair and desk but does the job of printing off boarding passes. Overall, great locale, decent pricing and pretty good rooms all equipped with washer, dryer, stove and dishwasher (and fridge once emptied of all its contents). read more

The Cosmopoliton is a hidden gem, tucked away on Colborne St. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very zen like and mordern. It's gives you more of a home feel as if you were walking into your own apartment, rather than a room you rented. The rooms come with a kitchen area(stove, mini fridge, mirvowave, sink and dishwasher)seating at the kitchen island or there is two chairs and coffee table to sit and relax in. You also get washer and dryer in the rooms to,so for long stays you have everything you need. There is a great spa and restaurant located in the same building and you are in perfect location for the Rogers centre , air Canada centre with a host of great bars all within walking distance. The only thing is the Cosmopolitan lacks parking, but there is two near by lots for parking at an additional charge. If a quiet romantic little getaway is in order The Cosmopolitan is just the place to go. read more

Cheapest (in quality) 4/5 star hotel I've been to. Major scuff marks on most the walls. They could either paint, wallpaper or clean it! The bathroom is tiny and without a tub. I am giving it 3 stars because it shouldn't be classified any higher than that. read more

Keep an eye on your credit card statements after your stay! they charged me for a room over a month after my stay, after calling several times had to go down in person to make sure they gave me my refund, only to have them charge me AGAIN! read more

Overall a good find in downtown TO. Really in an excellent spot for walking the city or access to transit. The room was good - our bed was comfortable but the pullout was less so. It would have been helpful to know there was a charge for the laundry soap and dryer sheet - though it wasn't excessive. We found staff to be pleasant. It was interesting that we had a delivery from another hotel via UPS, and if I hadn't asked for it, not sure they would have told us about it. I would stay again - but would ensure the room was clean and up to standard. read more

i'm a big fan of this and their sister hotel the pantages. both offer suites well appointed ,with everything you need, and good in size, the suite we stayed in was called the lotus suite, had a separate bedroom, which allowed for one to sleep in a bit while the other had coffee, read the paper etc without bothering the other. the staff very friendly, the wine bar very welcoming. my only two negatives would be the lack of a separate stand up shower, and we both found the bed very firm.. almost uncomfortable. the location cannot be beat.. the suite was very quiet. read more

Great hotel in a very good location if you are walking around the city. We didn't experience any issues at all and were amazed to have a washer and dryer in our room with a microwave, refrigerator and sink. Much more than we needed. The service was very good. My only recommendation is that if you are going have a bathroom with white tiles they better be clean otherwise we are going to really critique everything. read more

We found the Cosmopolitan listed under R&R themed hotels on a Toronto tourism site. The Zen atmosphere lives up to the marketing. The decor is modern, elegantly simple and relaxing. The service was wonderful, as the staff was attentive to every need. Unfortunately, the spa was not open in the early morning which presented a scheduling problem due to the package we selected. Also, the bartender had not been made aware of complimentary drink promotion that was part of our package. However, these minor inconveniences did not ruin an otherwise restful night. The Cosmopolitan is also located in a great area of Toronto, walking distance from the St. Lawrence Market and the distillery district, a pedestrian area with retail and dining. read more

My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel twice and don't really have any bad things to say. The service is good, the rooms are nice and the kitchens are great too! The rooms is spacious, hotel is pretty clean but it's small. I think there's only about 6 rooms on each floor and the balcony I couldn't go on because of the way they're built (I'm scared of heights). The second time we went we were on the 24th floor if I recall correctly and our room was great! Our balcony wrapped right around the building, but unfortunately I only saw it from the window. The location of the hotel isn't the best, it is between other buildings so if you are on a high floor you really just see the rooftops of other buildings. They don't have parking and it seems like a far walk from the Eaton Centre but it really isn't it's just because of the location. If you need a hotel to stay it, I would recommend it. read more

I had a much better experience at much cheaper hotels, room are extremely small and kitchenttes are useless

Is this what you call a 4 star?? Nothing included, No room service, Slow internet, 40$ parking from valet who knows no English. Wow are you serious. Front desk staff look like druggies and no clean rooms. Construction across the street is so noisy. Manager does nothing to fix complaints. Way better choices across the down town core. Do not waste your money at this dump. 2 star is what I would rate this place. Matter of time in till this dump closes down. read more
