Better, but still not great. I believe that they've changed either ownership or management, so the experience was definitely a step up from my prior visits. Could it be better? Yes. It's still a bit of an awkward experience although now it's more clear as to where you line up to order. I do think that dispensaries should offer a "normal" experience and not make it feel strange to buy greens, and I would say that Exhale does a so-so job of that. Exhale / The Plug has been taking the pandemic seriously, and I really appreciate it. There is a rope to distance the bud-tender (?) from the patron, and everyone has their face covered. Stopped through here before getting ready to hit up a brunch spot. Luckily I had looked ahead of time and read great things about this place. Huge selection of flowers, cartridges, edibles, etc. The countertops are broken off into sections so pay attention to which counter you need to order from. The main entry girl misunderstood when I said I had a medical rec card bc now rec is considered recreational and not rec for recommendation. But since it was my first time I got a discount. I got a hybrid 8th for $30 and some change. Not bad too bad of prices. Same as some in the Bay. I can tell this place must usually have a long line bc I noticed some sort of information booth outside and around the corner. Thank goodness I got there when I did. read more

All you patients who come here on the regular are getting robbed lollll Metered street parking. Shop's storefront is not actually on La Cienega (it's inside a building on La Cienega behind other stores), so it's easy to miss. Checked in, no line, no problems with the front desk staff. I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw their security guard; the guy dressed like he belonged in SWAT. 10% off for FTP (not a great deal). Going in, I was pretty disappointed and confused. Super commercialized dispensary but not nearly as attractive as MedMen. People were all over the place, so I didn't know where to begin. Started from the right and made my way to the left, which was where I was supposed to start. I asked my budtender how they categorized their flowers (value, VIP, top-shelf, connoisseur, etc) and he told me they sold it by the weight. So I asked for the best Indica or Hybrid/Indica-dominant they have and he gave me seven or so to smell out of little containers. Ended up going with Do-Si-Dos and asked for a gram. Budtender said they don't sell it in that size and smallest would be 1/8. Hmm, that's unusual. Then I remembered it was cash only. They have an on-site ATM, great! It will charge you a $2.29 fee. Imagine my eyes when they told me the price for 1/8 was $49, with my 10% off. That means 1/8 is normally $55 then. Are you kidding me? I can get 1/8 (3.5g) of one of my favorite connoisseur strains, Tom Ford, for $35! 5g for $50. 4g of another connoisseur favorite, Deadhead, for $40. A lot of places start at $40-50 for 1/8, so $55 is expensive. I asked him what was unique to Exhale, and he mentioned some sodas with THC and some oils. Bonus: they normally carry Kiva Petra mints but were sold out. Opening my goodie bag at home, I saw they put the flowers in a little glass jar. I guess that's why I'm paying $55 for 1/8... Then I had an ah-ha moment and realized that it was the same container I smelled out of in-store; that I had bought prepackaged bud (ugh); and also why I couldn't buy just a gram. If you want to overpay for your bud and want a super commercialized experience, come here! Or better yet, go to MedMen (the "Apple store of weed"). I was trying to decide on a regular dispensary when I visited this place for the first time a year ago. It was called Saint Andrew's Relief Center then, and I remember it being just as clean and professional as it is now. Exhale offers great deals, a place to lounge, free bottled water, and awesome customer service. I've walked in with my small dog a couple of times and the staff is always super friendly to the both of us. Also, there is metered parking along the side street. Before I became a regular patient at Exhale, I checked out other dispensaries around the Hollywood area first. For the most part, I felt most of them were just shadier and run by chronic stoners and not business owners. I can't tell you how many times I've had to stand waiting for cashiers to recount change more than once or abuse my provided contact information for personal use at other dispensaries. At Exhale, it's a different story. It is a polished and brightly lit dispensary, and the staff is super laid back, while maintaining a sense of professionalism. They even hook you up now and then. The guy at the front desk wearing the hat was cool, however the bud tenders were extremely RUDE and pushy -they did not seem like weed smokers AT ALL! They made me feel rushed. Have been using cannabis for over a decade for medicinal purposes. Upon my move to Los Angeles, was a bit disappointed in the overall process and shops. Though plentiful, always felt a bit rushed during ordering or worse: receiving the wrong recommendations. Once I moved to the West Side, my roommate recommended Exhale and I honestly haven't been anywhere else since my first visit, 2 years ago. The staff is always so friendly, with warm welcomes & small talk upon visits, and better yet quality advice. Usually set in my ways with ordering, but this shop has allowed me to open up and experiment. Usually I can even give a vague description such as "sativa, good for hiking" only to receive the perfect bud to keep me loose and energized. Not only that, but the best pricing I've come across yet for the quality of products and they DON'T TAX. Great selection of herbs, edibles and extracts. Once a week visit keeps me sane. I consider myself to have an outgoing and friendly character, and my questions were met with snappish and sometimes condescending responses. The positive thing was getting my FTP deal, but, such is the beauty if Los Angeles that I don't have to return here--and I also recommend that potential new patients look elsewhere. This was the first dispensary I'd ever gone to. I came because I was in the area and didn't wanna deal with the traffic going back home. Considering it had such great reviews, I thought it was worth checking out. The receptionist seemed a bit aloof, which made me feel a little weird considering this was my first time ever going to a dispensary. Tender who helped me out was alright, but I felt a bit uncomfortable with her too. I think she could sense I was new to all of it, but I didn't feel like she made enough of an effort to help me out. When I would ask her questions about something, her answers were really quick and short. The other tenders seemed to be having good conversations with the other customers, so I felt like I was doing something wrong. At that point, I just thought I was annoying her or something so I just paid for my stuff, tipped, and left. Overall, it's a pretty cool place. Chill music, mellow and almost spa-like vibe to it. Was able to get a ticket for a freebie since I was a new patient. I wish it wasn't such an awkward experience though :\ not sure if I'll be back anytime soon, but don't hesitate to still check it out if you live in WeHo because the other reviews seem to really show it's a great place. read more

They started at the top now they SUCK! Well Exhale used to be my favorite dispensary. I didn't even mind going out of my way to stop there versus dispensaries closer to my home, but not anymore. First they stopped rolling house joints if they were out when I'd come in (even when I'd call ahead to make sure they had them) and then today they had a new receptionist who refused to check me in even with my ID! I've been a loyal patient for almost a year and recommended at least 20 of my friends to go there. Now these same friends will be getting recommendations to go elsewhere and to never return! I'm so disappointed because now I feel like I put my reputation on the line by recommending a dispensary with horrible customer service/client retention. The place might be clean and appear friendly but that doesn't cover for sub par service especially when you go there out of your way! Boy, did I Exhale a sigh of relief when I walked in here the other day. (See what I did there?) As I walked west on Santa Monica Blvd, on my way to Exhale, I passed two dispensaries in West Hollywood a.k.a. West Hollyweed a.k.a. WeedHo, which are now selling recreational marijuana - and the lines were about 50 people deep! On a Wednesday afternoon, no less. Apparently, 100 people in L.A. never got a medical card. Maybe they were tourists. At first, I thought they were waiting to buy concert tickets, or perhaps lining up to flush money down the toilet on some hyped up new Air Jordans. Do they still make those? I'm more of an Adidas guy. Superstar. Shell toe, baby. My Adidas walk through concert doors, and roam all over coliseum floors... Recent "news" is that the Feds *still* lump cannabis a.k.a. marijuana in with opioids, which is preposterous. That's not a Trump thing - it's a Fed thing, and has been for a long time. Sure, Obama ostensibly observed states rights when it came to marijuana, but did he remove it from the class of Schedule 1 "narcotics?" Nope. While I do use it recreationally, now and again, cannabis (a mild CBD strain) is my panacea. I got my rec when my back was out, but the CBD also eases all of my occasional, run-of-the-mill maladies: headache, sleeplessness, hangover, muscle ache, general malaise - it's the cure. I don't take allergy or sleep meds, and I couldn't tell you the last time I used an over the counter, so-called "pain reliever." I have nightmares about aspirin. As a kid, when I was sick, my mom would break up an aspirin and put it in a glass of milk. You know what that tastes like? Milk. Because that's all it is - until you get to the milk coated aspirin chunks at the bottom that have to be slowly and methodically extracted and chewed, in order to be swallowed. You know what *that* tastes like? Ass! Well... so I'm told. WeHo managed to transition smoothly into the recreational marijuana realm, while L.A. is not quite there yet - fortunately for me. When I got to my destination, it was revealed to me that this little notch of La Cienega where Exhale resides is part of L.A. - not WeHo. No weed-starved hordes here. I was in and out in five minutes. (Story of my life.) I've only been here a few times - every six or eight weeks - and I've never had a problem. But, this visit was a bit awkward. As a fan of the New England Patriots, I felt like a bit of a super villain when I bumped into a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'd hate the dynastic era Brady/Belichick Patriots, too, if my team was 3-11 against them. I have to take some credit for the recent success of all the Boston/New England teams: as soon as I moved to L.A., we started winning titles. Ten total, I believe. For that reason, nobody wants me back. Fine by me - they just got blasted by a brutal Winter storm back there, called a "Bomb Cyclone." That sounds like the perfect nickname for the Brady/Belichick duo. It's got a nice ring to it. Five of them, actually. :-D I feel for the Steelers fans. That last loss to the Pats was brutal. Looooove! Background: I have battled severe endometriosis for a few years now. About 50 days ago, my stomach and entire GI system started failing. I've been in and out of ERs, Urgent Cares, and finally after a CT scan and cancer antigen test it has been determined that I have large, numerous tumors pushing into my GI organs from my reproductive system and well as an unidentified mass that may be malignant (80% chance), as well as endometriosis causing other organs to stick together. Whew...that's a lot. The pain from all that is debilitating and excruciating. I can no longer take narcotics or my heart will stop. I can also no longer take Advil because it's tearing up my stomach and esophagus. Enter Exhale. The dispensary review: After obtaining a medical MJ prescription, my really amazing friend who has been pushing natural cures on me, brought me to Exhale last week. From parking the car and being greeted by an amazing host, to checking in, to the dispensary we were treated so well plus I was given a lot of information as to what strains could not only alleviate pain but possibly (unproven I'm sure) fight back against these growths and tumors. The dispensary was VERY clean, well organized and service impeccable! I left with a bag full of great stuff! The only reason I'm giving 4 & not 5 stars is due to the fact that the credit card machine was not working and I had to pull cash for my donation. The product review: I'm was not a previous MJ user so I'm not a connoisseur however I can say that since I've been using the products I got I have had almost no pain, I can eat again (but I don't get munchies at all), my GI system is almost normal again and I dropped about 10 pounds. Yes, 10 in 6 days! I think this is due to the medical MJ helping my GI functions perform as they should despite the tumors pushing into them. Who knows? Maybe my tumors are shrinking now. Seems nicer every time I visit. Update: my last visit was amazing. I got some of the best flower I have ever bought. I like that you can look at the huge variety of bud in the display, the strain and type is labeled, and the budtenders are very helpful and don't rush you. It's very clean in there. Nick at the front is a really great guy and gave me a good feeling about the place the moment I walked in.
