Stopped in today for a head spa treatment. This is my first experience having this done so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was completely blown away with how amazing it was. Mya brought me back into the treatment room and did a full analysis of my scalp. We discussed treatment and I picked from one of their handmade aromatherapy scents. Once in the chair she covered me with a blanket and heated eye mask. I then spent the next 30 minutes in total relaxation while she scrubbed and massaged. It was heavenly! I absolutely loved my experience at exhibit M. I was wanting to try a scalp massage for a while, but never actually took the plunge. I'm not one to pamper myself with salon services very often, so I was slightly nervous going in due to the unfamiliarity. However, from the moment I entered, I felt super welcome. The owner explained to me exactly what the service would be like and asked me if I had any expectations. Mya performed my scalp massage and she did a great job. She started by looking at my scalp through a magnifying glass and showing it to me on the screen, so understanding what she was doing helped appreciate the process. From stepping through the door until I checked out, I was getting asked for any refreshments or other requests to make my visit as enjoyable as possible. I usually only get haircuts but they shared that they will start offering head spa treatments and more and it piqued my interest. The staff really caters to the customer experience. Char is by far the best barber in OC. His new location is very unique in the way that it blends the tranquility of a spa with the vibes of a social house. The real surprise was how much I enjoyed the scalp treatment with Eric. As someone who typically is not interested in massages or spa treatments, Eric changed my life. The relaxation of the experience was expected, but the real surprise was what it actually did for my hair. My hair flowed and held its shape in a way that I've never been able to achieve with a standard haircut. Never realized how essential it was to have a PH balanced scalp. This was my first time at Exhibit M in Costa Mesa and the experience was excellent from arrival to departure. The staff was incredibly welcoming and the salon was spotless with a calm serene atmosphere that immediately helped me unwind. I was very excited because this was my first time getting a scalp treatment. My hair stylist Eric sat me in a private room where he used a microscope to examine my hair follicles. He explained in detail about the parts of my scalp that needed work to promote overall health. Afterwards, he started to massage my shoulders, head, and cleansed my hair with professional hair products. It was very relaxing and I think I fell asleep at one point in time. At the end of the treatment, Eric showed me my scalp from the microscope again and it was even better than before! It was a great experience to see my hair follicles so clean and up close. First time at Exhibit M for a head spa treatment. I've been to a handful of other headspa. While there are cheaper options for someone to wash your hair, at Exhibit M you get your money's worth with the experience. We started the session by getting comfy in a robe and slippers. Next they use a camera to analyze my scalp (I had so much buildup ). You get to choose aromatic oils and tea washes for your scalp (not for drinking lol). When it's time for the scalp work, they emphasize mostly manual hand work to really get in there. Meanwhile, your hands are getting pampered in hand masks. I nearly fell asleep. After the wash was complete, it was so satisfying to see my scalp so clean. And then, got my hair blow dried. Enjoyed my visit! read more

I'm putting two reviews into one. The first I'll talk about is my current hair stylist Annie. I was an existing client of hers from another business and she informed me of her new place of work. The aura and vibe that this place has is unique. Every time I go she always is eager to talk and catch up on each other's lives as if we are friends who haven't seen each other in a long time, while simultaneously providing top tier service by turning my terribly defined wants into reality. She knows exactly what she is doing and knows how to make your hair cut better than you imagine it. I have tried numerous styles and she always knows how to take what I want and craft it to where it works for me. I love her work and I won't be going anywhere else. The second thing I want to talk about is the head spa. I remember getting my hair cut and Annie telling me about their head spa that they plan to offer. To keep a long story short, she told me how relaxing it was and sold me on it. Having never had ANY type of massage before, I decided to give it a try, and I have no regrets. I chose Mya as my therapist and she is unbelievably outstanding. She educated me on what she had planned for me based on what I wanted and was looking for. She showed me my scalp, (which I had never seen before) and told me what she could do to help it as well as help me relax. There was aroma therapy, a hot towel, tea rinses, and many other things I can't remember because I was in my own world. She gave me many choices of scents to choose from for the aroma therapy and I chose this beautiful citrus smell that immediately triggered some nostalgia.
