This happened a few years ago, 2021, just getting the strength to post now. My hair melted off so bad. It was obvious something bad had happened because my stylist walked away and suddenly someone I'd never met took over, I think the owner. They gave me a free conditioning treatment, didn't know why ar the time. They charged me and I paid in full with a tip, my stupid over-politeness. Didn't say a word. And when I got home noticed half my hair was gone, especially the front. It was so short and thin because layers of it was missing. Never went back there again. My hair is getting better and better now. My stylist name I think was Ken. Not sure if he still works there, he always wore a beanie. I'll update if I get the correct name. read more

My experience at this salon was phenomenal compared to other places I've gone for my hair. This was my first time experimenting with red and Jess did a beautiful job. She talked me through the entire process and answered all my questions. If anyone is looking for a professional stylist with a great attitude, Jess is your girl! Blanc Noir and Dennis saved me. Seriously. I had a horrible experience with another salon (see review!) and after color correction my hair was a disaster. I called and they were able to fit me in the next day, thankfully. I was covering my hair in a ballcap - that's how bad it was. Dennis was lovely - I really enjoyed working with him, he knew what he was doing, and given what he had to work with he did a fantastic job. He even fixed bangs that had been cut way too short. It was worth the $550 (with tip) to feel good again. My only thing I would improve is that, while the assistant was nice, he pulled foils out pretty roughly and his blow out was kind of painful and not amazing - I was happy when Dennis took over and finished styling my hair because it looked beautiful when I left. I really appreciated Dennis taking great care of me - he was sincere and understood how I felt and I enjoyed talking with him. He made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands. Yes . Just , yes . I have been coming to Blanc Noir since they were located in Costa Mesa for about , and I cannot day enough good things about them . Here is a rundown of what to expect from Blanc Noir ... Friendly front desk that actually greets you when you walk in and offers you a drink from a large variety of things ( I chose grapefruit Perrier yesterday , followed by bottled water since I was getting a lot done yesterday ) . Jonnie is a literal hair color wizard . I've seen him do beautiful darks , icy blondes, sun kissed blondes , reds , there is literally nothing he can't accomplish wIth color . He travels around teaching color because people trust his expertise as much as I do with my very long hair ( he has never fried it, even though I go very light blonde ). He's not only amazing, but so much fun to talk to! Abel is one of the most talented hair stylists ( cutters) I've seen . He has naturally curly hair , so he is not only good at cutting straight hair (which I've seen him do time and time again while getting my color done ), but he can handle men's cuts with ease and dIes the entire thing expertly without clippers , he has done my long hair and never cut my length shorter than I wanted , etc . He does a fabulous job with cuts, blow outs , styling, anD Brazilian blow outs . He's also incredibly sweet like Jonnie . Kelli sits next to Jonnie, so every time I get my hair color done , I see her incredible hair colors. If Jonnie wasn't available , I would 150% trust her with my hair . We were both pregnant at the same time , so I've seen her over the years, and she still kills the color into motherhood ! Liz has done a Brazilian blow out for me before , and she did a fabulous job . She also did a gorgeous , glamorous shoulder length cut on an older lady yesterday that was freakin stunning. Chloe has gone from receptionist to very confident colorist . I've watched her over the years , and am blown away by her confidence, professionalism , and skill. She did a blonde yesterday that was drop dead gorgeous . She looks like she's been doing hair for 20 years. Yesterday , I had the pleasure of meeting Cara. She is not only a total sweetheart, but she turned my wreck of hair into something I could really feel confident in. I generally am only able to get my hair done for special occasions, and so it had been a LONG time since I was in last. My hair was neglected , grown out , dry and frizzy . Cara did it all. She did a full highlight , Brazilian blow out and cut. She listened to what I wanted , and really delivered . She was pleasant , professional , made sure I had a drink if I needed one, gave a great shampoo massage, and had me leaving feeling stunning . She is a perfectionist and rechecks everything she does to make sure your hair comes out perfect . I don't think there is a single bad banana in this bunch . You are in good hands if you come here . They are not cheap, but you won't leave the salon with hair that will take you a year or two of recovery. You get what you pay for ! I personally like to get my hair done less often by a team that I know will deliver rather than chance it at a cheaper salon where I might have to cut years worth of growth off due to my hair getting overprocessed or something. read more

It has been over two years since my initial review, and Blanc Noir is still the best hair salon in Orange County. Their Covid-19 setup is impeccable, complete with plexiglass partitions, enforced social distancing, and even individually wrapped robes. All of the staff wear masks at all times, and clients are expected to do the same. Liz is a visionary with great taste. I strayed from her once and deeply regretted it. I came crawling back with a bad haircut, which she managed to fix, without taking off much more length. Today, she transformed me from quarantine gremlin to perfect princess with long, expertly executed layers. She has made invaluable recommendations regarding hair products and styling tools as well. I got color done by Cara today as well, and was blown away at her ability to not only read my mind (I struggle to express my hair goals), and make me look like a better version of my natural self. Finally found a hair salon that I will come back to every 6-8 weeks! I had my hair cut by Liz, and not only is she very talented, but she was down to earth and incredibly sweet. I got the Brazilian Blowout here and wow my hair was AMAZING afterwards. This was my first time doing a BB and I wanted to go somewhere that would do it right the first time. The treatment and service itself was FIVE stars. The atmosphere is very posh and the receptionist was very kind and accommodating to booking the appointment. My only critique is the price of the service. Maybe I'm wrong but I think I overpaid for the service because there are many other salons in OC that do it for half the price. It would have been nice if they offered a discount for new clients. My BB costed $350 + additional $100+ for the aftercare products and tip. Almost spent $500 on my hair. Ouch! But no regrets! I go to Jonathan who took my hair (which was previously platinum then dyed super dark so we all know that creates problems) and took me very slowly back to blonde. I was patient and the whole process took about a year because we didn't want my hair to break off by lightening it too quickly. He's basically the master, teaches balayage for L'oreal and works my natural color in so my roots grow out looking sometimes better than when I first get my hair done which says a lot. I used to suffer from skunky roots when I was a "highlighted blonde" before which drove me insane. Confident in saying that my hair looked really natural and pretty every step of the transition from dark dark brown to blonde. Also, their blowouts are INCREDIBLE. I actually can't go back to crap blowdry bars now because their work is so shoddy in comparison to the beautiful blowout I get here every time. You get what you pay for. read more

I have been getting my hair cut at Blanc Noir by Liz since September 2017 and I know this because I have been happy with my hair since September 2017! When I started coming to Blanc Noir, I was desperate for a way to ditch my straightening iron. My hair was always too heavy and poorly cut, so I could never enjoy my natural waves. I'd just flatten my hair to oblivion to be done with it. Even after my very first cut with Liz, I was able to let my hair air dry and actually like it for once. Over the years she has helped me experiment with new styles, like the undercut that has changed my life by literally taking weight off my shoulders and making my daily routine more manageable! Lately, I've been growing my hair out and I expected the awkward lengths to look terrible (from past experiences), but with each cut Liz finds a cute new way to frame my face and to add layers that complement my natural waves. I was referred to this salon by a friend of mine. So I decided to give it a try since I had gone to a different salon to get ombre done to my hair about 1 month ago. Well needless to say, the other salon didn't color my hair the way I wanted them to. Since I have dark brown hair, the tips turned out really orange. The ombre look was too drastic. I wanted something more subtle. I came in to see Kristy Nguyen and she corrected the color with some toner and gave me a trim. I loved the fact that she was really attentive to my needs. She asked all of the important questions so that I can get the look that I want. And when she was done, I was more than impressed with the outcome. Kristy did an excellent job. I originally saw them on yelp, they had high ratings and made an appointment to go in to get a haircut and hair dyed...Apparently the hairdresser scheduled me on a Monday at noon when they were closed. I went all the way there at noon found out they were closed. I left a message on their voice mail and no return call message on Tuesday to reschedule or an apology. I was all excited, but did call another salon that took me the same day and rhey did a great job. I'm new to the area and saw all the great reviews here so decided to check it out and booked an appointment online. First thing to note - parking is free and easy! The salon is very pretty and I was greeted with a glass of champagne. Sierra was my hairstylist and she did a wonderful job. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and asked a lot of great questions about my hair routine so that we were both on the same page. She fixed some of my crazy choppy layers I had from a previous bad haircut and did a really great job of blending them out beautifully, framing my face and guiding me through all the products she was using. I was struggling for a long time to find a right color specialist to settle my hair color in a right path. At the first consultation she just touched up my hair to presents acceptable and started up my hair treatments with L'Oréal products which recommend by her . On the second session I did more progress on my hair color balance and it looked more healthier. However her time was limited to cover the full service because I have plenty hair and it really needs time to make it perfect.
