Grays? What grays? I booked an appointment with Tracy for balayage after seeing how amazing she made my friend's hair look. She was booked solid for two weeks, so definitely book in advance if you want an appointment. The salon is located near the beach, so parking can be limited, but Tracy texted me ahead of time with parking instructions and even saved me a spot right in front of the salon. The salon itself is clean and welcoming. They also sell handmade jewelry created by one of the staff members, and there was even a tarot reader set up outside, which added to the fun and unique vibe. I came in feeling pretty self-conscious about my hair. My grays were becoming more noticeable, my color had grown out, and my hair was looking dry and tired. Tracy immediately put me at ease. She asked what I wanted, took one look at my hair, and confidently reassured me that she would blend my grays and give me a natural result. At that point, I trusted her completely and let her do her thing. One thing I wasn't expecting was how amazing the shampoo experience would be. Her scalp massage felt incredible and was honestly one of the best parts of the appointment. Since Luna's is also a head spa, it makes sense that they pay extra attention to the scalp experience. It was so relaxing that I found myself wishing it would last longer. Tracy is personable, confident, and gives off total boss woman energy. You can tell she knows exactly what she's doing. After coloring my hair, she even went the extra mile and offered me a complimentary trim just to make it perfect. When she finished, she styled my hair both straight and curled so I could really see the dimension and color. The result exceeded my expectations. My grays completely disappeared into the color, and the balayage looks soft, natural, and beautifully blended. My hair looks healthier, shinier, and so much more refreshed. I left feeling like a new person and could not stop looking at my hair. If you're looking for someone who specializes in color and balayage, Tracy is your girl. I went into Salon Luna's today in an emergency of sorts. I needed a fix up before I had to visit family out of town . My usual guy only works thurs/ Friday. I was met at the door by Tammy a receptionist. Extremely friendly and responsive to my request. I sometimes get the blow off in a NB salon. I had my hair shaped up by one of the owners Tanya. She did my hair perfect and to the length that I wanted. I don't know about you ladies but when I get my haircut I feel very vulnerable. I was happy with the Rate, cheaper than my guy. As I was leaving I found they have a head spa treatment also. A neck and shoulder massage will be my next appointment. All there prices were posted which made me feel like I wouldn't get ripped off. The salon itself is located in a very convenient right by a bakery, many restaurants, and coffee shops. Despite parking being a bit difficult considering it's right next to the beach, the salon has dedicated spots off 23rd street. Aside from that, I went in for a trim. Although I had just gotten a haircut just this late summer at another salon, it actually wasn't as short as I wanted (my hair grows out really fast). I decided to come here to get it trimmed. I never got around to posting a review back when I visited in September and I can't believe it's been so long already. Almost two months later and I still cannot stop thinking about this place. The Salon caught my eye with a lot of beautiful decor in the windows and the service menu and prices on the window too! 4 different, all very reasonably priced options from 30-60 minutes and long list of add-ons. As soon as I walked in to see if they had availability I was warmly welcomed by who I think was the owner, making jewelry right there in the shop. I was looking around for the very short wait and chatting with her before her own client got there for her hair appointment. I had time and wanted to try everything so I went with the 60 minute MoonStruck Experience. I decided to treat myself to a feeew add-ons (and they possibly did too!) and got the Scalp Viewing, Scalp Brushing, Detox Foaming Salt Scrub, HydraSoft Glossing Treatment, Blowout, and even a trim! I was treated by Tonya who was the best ever. With all my add-ons I was definitely there longer than 60 minutes and it was the best spent time and the best spa experience. I couldn't recommend this place enough. I don't know when I'll be back in the area, but I cannot wait for my next visit. I've been going to Tracey La for my hair since she was at Allure Hair many years ago. I even continued to see her twice a year for my hair during COVID-19 when she was working in her home. I've had my hair cut by her in Fountain Valley, Orange, Garden Grove, and now Newport Beach. Hands down, Tracey is a master with color and cut on Asian hair. I'm very particular with my hair and I don't easily trust anyone else with styling it. While it's mostly straight, thick, and heavy, I go to Tracey because she's a whiz at layering my hair. I've gone to others in the past who weren't as good with my hair and it ended up mushrooming out terribly. With Tracey, my hair has consistent layers and it feels lighter after a cut. I was excited to see she opened up a new spot in Newport Beach at Salon Lunas. I used to live in Newport and I decided to come down early because my appointment happened to be on St. Patrick's Day so I knew parking would be an issue. Tracey was kind enough to text me to let me know that parking was available in the lot behind her salon but I had already paid for parking when she sent her text. She was able to squeeze me in early so I even had time to walk around and enjoy the beach afterwards. Her salon is on Balboa Blvd and 23rd on the street side, across from the Crab Cooker Restaurant. She was excited to tell me that they plan on adding a head spa to this location in addition to the other services she offers. I initially found Salon Lunas on a walk, I was able to make an hair cut appt. the same day. Tracey la proptly got me situated for a wash and beautiful scalp massage. I explained what I wanted and that my hair means so much to me so I take great care of it. She thanked me for trusting her with my hair and was overall exuding great warm energy! While she was cutting my hair I shut my eyes, relishing in the relaxing music and knowing I was taken care of. She was thorough swift and precise, only asking once where Id like to part my hair. Came to get a headspa treatment with Dang and it was nothing short of magical! She took such great time when it came to massage and scalp treatment, I felt so relaxed and soothed the entire time.
