The owner was very rude and offended by request for a sample of beer from another brewery. He was very condescending after requesting a sample, we visit several craft breweries and and craft beer bars and have never felt unwelcome requesting a sample before purchasing a full beer that lands in the price range more than a standard six pack. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! I like to consider myself a craft beer enthusiast so I'm always excited when a new brewery pops up in the STL area. I came to Exit 6, three times before finally writing a review on it. 1st Time on my Bday - 3 different house beers, all 3 tasted like they had been poured from an ash tray and for some reason made me feel really ill. Owner was rude to our group. 2nd time - Just my brother and I. there were yellow sticky notes on the juke box stating which songs would not be tolerated by the owner and if played would be skipped. House beer still of poor quality, switched to drinking bottled beer from other micros. 3rd Time - Didn't bother with house beer this time. Group of us came in, didn't play anything on the Owner's "Do Not Play List". Owner decided he didn't like some of our selections and skipped our songs. Wouldn't refund our money. We had just arrived and were still on our first beer, he accused us of having too much to drink (my wife doesn't even drink) and threatened to kick us out. Summary: Don't bother! I will never go there again, and if you live or are visiting the STL area you have the opportunity to visit lots of great breweries where they value they brew great fresh beer, and value their customers. read more

Very cool place and some really superb beers! My wife and I stopped in on our way to a concert and had a great time chatting Aaron, the bartender. He is knowledgeable, friendly and hospitable. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed place to enjoy some good beers. read more

Unfortunately I've been to ITAP plenty so I expected similar atmosphere and service. This place is a lower grade ITAP. Not as nice an atmosphere, beer temp a little off, selection less and if you ask to try a sample it was like you were stealing. ITAP never an issue trying a sample. I will give them the upper hand on fact they do brew 5 of their own. Beer temp is slightly above cool not cold enough. Service friendly enough just weird on samples but could be they get alot of freeloaders. TV'S are more suited for a sitting room size rather than sports watching. read more

In an apparent effort to please the ladies :) Jeff brewed a beer that was an homage to an overpriced coffee chain's icy drink. I don't know what the frappichino Starbucks was thinking, but I will avoid patronizing them because they are obviously a bunch of smug pricks. Now if we can just get Exit 6 to open for breakfast. On second thought, if Jeff did that, there would be a bunch of slackers hanging around, half stoned, sucking down the free WiFi, so that paying customers would have nowhere to sit. Love this place! I have to say I was hesitant about going to a craft brewery in st Charles but needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. I live so close to quite a few new breweries in south city. But I tried the red and brown beers (can't remember the real names) an they were PHENOMENAL!!! read more

I loved the atmosphere and the attitude. Everyone was real friendly and the beer selection was first class. My favorite though was the in house brewed Vanilla Cream Ale. I was able to bring home a growler to VA and rank it in my all time top 5 beers. Keep it up and see you next year. read more

Pros - Exit 6 makes very good beer (for example, TBFIE was a standout for its style); plenty of other top-flight craft beers available as well. Cons - Lacks ambiance, with beer-related relics scattered around without any real sense of design; no good music. Summary - great place to sample excellent beer, not so great to visit. Will give it another try, hopefully to meet the brewing staff, and to sample more fine beer. read more

I was a little hesitant at first because to be honest, I'm not a beer drinker. My husband is so I decided to try it out with some friends. They have this banana bread beer that is so good. It smells just like banana bread and although you can taste the beer flavor, it also tastes like banana bread! The VERY BEST beer bar in St Charles regardless of what the pretty/Moley bartender says. She did nothing but complain about the ownership as she changed kegs. Then commiserated with her "favorite" patron who disagreed with the views of another group of beer drinkers politics or religion or something. Don't misunderstand, she treated us well, just got the feeling we could be up for discussion as soon as we left was no fun. Owner was rude and almost proud to offer horrible service. I went with my boyfriend to check out this place and honestly know nothing about micro brews. I was hoping for a educational and fun experience. NOT WHAT I GOT! We got no welcome and waited 5 minutes for the owner to come over and proceed to inform us on just how arrogant he is. After my boyfriend ordered a beer ( a painful experience) which included no help what so ever. He would have been better off closing his eyes and pointing at the beer list. After witnessing this I simply asked for a water so as not to endure the same sort of experience and to my delight I was cheerfully informed that WE DON'T HAVE ICE in a proud and pretentious tone. My boyfriend finished his beer and we left. Nether one of us would go back if you paid me. Someone seriously needs to take a step back and realize how much customer service plays in a healthy and thriving business. LOVE this place. The slogan is "No Crap on Tap" If you are a beer lover you have found nirvana and if you are not a beer lover chances are you will find something that you will like here. Great experience! Had his Fixed It!#1 and Trotter Fox Brown and found both to be well above average. The owner cares about his beer and customers. Found a new home! I'll have keep going back till I've tried all his creations. That may take awhile as he's a small batch brewer that constantly changes most his brews. read more

I was originally looking to check out se7en but they were closed so I ended up at exit 6. I was skeptical at first but Dave made me feel welcome right away. As a bartender I explained my lack of knowledge when it comes to craft beer. I'm very impressed with his knowledge, which he stated was obtained at least over a couple of decades. It's easy for someone like Dave to be cocky or big headed because he's perfected his craft, but I never got that vibe. I'm not sure what the exact beer was that he wanted me to try, but it was a vanilla craft. It was exceptional, and easy to enjoy outside on a clean cushioned patio. I was also impressed that he encouraged me to try the Manhattan at rack house, the bar right next to him. I'll be back soon. read more

Was in the other night, decent little spot, liked the beer selection and soccer scarves, sure it's a nice place to catch a game. We were over at the wine rack before hand, my gal and her friend wanted to continue drinking wine so I asked for a glass of red, poured out of an individual bottle with the lid being torn off like a Pringles can, they of course didn't like it I told the bartender to dump them and give me two of their house pumpkins, she charged me for the wine which is not the biggest deal but working in the industry you always try to make it right when people aren't satisfied, I had a true blonde which was delicious then I saw a bottle called Ryan and the gosling, I liked the play on words and thought I'd give it a try. It was a good beer, go to tab out and find out it cost $18 for the one beer! I was shocked, a little heads up from the bartender would have been nice, also didn't like relieving an itemized check when I tabbed out, had to ask for one and when I saw what it was I felt like she was tryin to pull one over on me which sucks after you leave a good tip. I'm sure I'll pop in again try a few more of their own beers but $18 for a beer was tough. read more
