My friend heard about Naked Tiki Distilling in June and we visited for the first time last week. It's a small/medium space. We picked a table behind a wall. It was a little isolated from the main bar area. This is a "dark tiki" place. (Think of the Enchanted Tiki Room during the storm segment.) We liked the decorations, including the posters and records and especially the puffer fish lights over the tables. Some midcentury music played all evening. The volume was just right; I could hear my friends perfectly well. We drank 2-4 cocktails per person and these were good cocktails from a long menu. Some of the cocktails are made with the distillery's rum and I liked the flavor of it. The food menu at the establishment is more extensive than the menu I saw online. (I don't recall whether I saw that other menu on the website or a photo of it on a review.) We ordered pizza, loaded tater tots, and.... probably some meat item I didn't try. My friends liked the pizza more than I did. I thought it had too much sauce, but they commented that they liked the amount of sauce, so your take will depend on your preference there. The tots were good. Next time I hope to order a flatbread (white sauce). We ordered a couple of items modified or with questions about allergens and they were good about answering our questions and delivering as we ordered. Everyone seems to be experienced in table and bartending and know the ropes of the place. Our server was so nice. He spent a couple of minutes answering our questions towards the end of the evening. He told us about the membership program that costs $25/month and is worth it if you come at least 2x (or 1, depending on what you order, I think). I hope to return quite soon! read more

He stopped in on opening day. Tiki bars are right up our alley so we could not wait to see what they had in store. The inside was perfect, decked out just as I think a tiki bar should be. It's not a large space, but they managed to handle the crowd very well. Bartenders were super friendly and the drinks were very good. We had the Crab Rangoon which was plentiful and delicious. I am so excited that this place exists! Yes, it is new, and has some rough edges; or more to the point it needs MORE rough edges. It's not a tiki bar until every square inch of the walls are covered in tiki stuff. :) It's cozy, and has someone who is passionate about tiki running it. I plan on going as often as I can. P.S. I wish I could review a review, because the person who said the ingredients were wrong and garnishes were wrong, doesn't get the spirit of Tiki. Typos? Really?!? The drinks were delicious read more

If you are a true tiki lover, you will be disappointed. Drinks were very sweet and really no taste of alcohol. They were using cheap syrups for tiki cocktails. The Mai Thai was nothing like a traditional Mai Thai. Limited decor. They do have pebble ice and the music was on point. read more

We found Naked Spirits at Taste of Missouri at MoBot and knew we had to check them out. We had NO idea they even existed prior! We got on Groupon and bought a tour for 4 - and scheduled. Their process is very convenient. You can't do tastings/see the distillery without a tour but the price of it is very worth it. You can swing by during the day and just buy bottles. Now, the tour. This is a small distillery but it's gorgeous. They have a great aesthetic. My husband and I are big into bourbon so we were amazed at how small their process is, but very cool to see and such a cool concept. We loved how involved the owners are in the whole process from innovation to market. Some of their flavors are SO cool and unique. We of course had to come home with some gooey butter cake rum. Their coffee rum was quite possibly the best coffee liquor we have ever had. My dad is a die hard tequila drinker and the Agave Spirit is SO SMOOTH he loved it. He of course had to buy a bottle of that too! What was really cool is you could try ALL of the rums and you get two cocktails with your ticket - which makes the price so worth it. They give you fantastic history to the rum world and their business. Such a cool experience. Bonus for classic car guys - it's connected to a show floor so you can peek at some gorgeous vehicles while you're there! read more

If tikiphiles are looking for authentic, this is not it. This place is new and missed the mark in most areas. The menu was so full of typos it was hard to figure out the descriptions. The drinks lacked correct ingredients and garnishes. I left a nearly full drink on the table. The prices were too high and the decor was minimal. Service was pretty good though. read more

First time trying this. We love tiki bars. The outside of the building is kind of unassuming but when you step in it's dimly lit with red with some tiki decorations. I imagine with time more decorations will be added. The music was good and the drinks tasted really good and packed a punch. We didn't eat while there so can't comment on the food. We will be back with some family members soon. read more

The food, service and ambiance were all stunning. BUT, most importantly the drinks were absolutely delicious! On top of that, they sell their own rum & the coconut rum is possibly the best coconut rum I've ever tasted. Highly recommend this place, so glad we've got a tiki bar in St. Charles now. Got a Groupon for a tour, brought 2 friends. The distillery is definitely a bit hidden but parking is easy once you find it. They send good directions beforehand in an email. The place is small, inside a car restoration building (you'll find out why during the tour). Just a few tables and a small bar, but plenty of room for a group. It's funny how they really transformed the space into a distillery with the decor - one second you're in a car shop, the next a distillery. The tour was awesome! Our guide explained the origins of Naked Spirits and of rum in general. She had a lot of knowledge and was very casual with us. She made the tour a lot of fun and it was obvious that she had a lot of passion and enjoyment for it. The rum was delicious! I was shocked at how good it was for a rum distillery in the Midwest. I actually bought the GBC rum. Such a fun flavor. The pricing is really reasonable, too. Highly recommend:) read more

From the beginning when you enter the building you feel the good vibes. The tour is great full of valuable information and explaining with all the details about the product. The tasting is awesome and you can choose drinks from a variety of the menu available. Service is like you was a family member of the owner. This was a ton of fun. It's by appointment only, and Naked Spirits is only open on the weekends. We learned about it by purchasing a Groupon while in STL. You would never be able to find this if the owner didn't give very specific directions to get to the establishment. It's not like a regular tasting room where you can come in and have a drink. It does require a reservation for come in. Once you're in, you're in for a treat. The various spirits they have were delicious. We had the chance to learn how they came to be, the passion behind their business, and tasted a variety of their products. We ended up taking home two bottles of their gooey buttercake rum. I'm glad I got to experience it, and look forward to them shipping. read more

So we bought a Groupon before Covid hit and we were finally able to redeem it!!! This Hidden Gem Rum Distillery is awesome. They make their own Rum from Start to Finish.. which is hard to find. Even though this was my first rum tour and tasting, I will say that this was fun, amazing, informative and tasty! This local rum is smooth, full of flavor and can be paired as a mixer and a stand alone shot. Ally was this team member who did our tour. Although it was only her second day, she was fabulous! 10/10 check this place out!! We had the pleasure of Brandon the owner of Naked Spirits to be our host for the tour and tasting and it was such a great experience! You can tell how passionate he is about distilling rum and the fun him and his partners have creating and experimenting with it and how much they want to just share it with the people of St. Louis. Learning about the process was new to me and interesting to heart about. We tasted 7 different rums (pictured), went to the back room to see the process of distilling and where they make it all happen (its a small operation so literally the front room for the tasting, and the back room for the distilling and bottling), and got to pick 2 cocktails to have as part of the tour experience. What a hidden gem! It's a bit hard to find but if you can't find it then keep looking or give them a call (turn into the parking lot between Renew Transfer & Taylor Scientific - the entrance is on the side of the bulding and shares a door with Classic Car Studio). We showed up tonight expecting a tour/taste event purchased through Groupon. There was a bit of a hiccup with their new ticketing system and they weren't doing a tour that evening because they were hosting a cocktail event that night. Even though we weren't officially booked, one of the owners, Brandon, offered to give us a tour anyway or invited us to come back in a couple of hours to do the cocktail event instead. We chose to come back for their cocktail event and had such a great experience! The bartender, Olivia, was super nice and all of the cocktails she crafted were very good. Brandon ended up giving us a little behind the scenes tour where we got to ask some questions about their rums and the distilling process. The space/tasting room itself was clean, inviting, and had a lovely mom & pop family feeling to it. What a great little addition to Brentwood and the distillery scene. This spot, just opened in October 2019, is the product of two friends' competition between each other to brew a better beer (which turned into distilling a better rum). Focusing and specializing on rums, this distillery just signed deals into select Schnucks for distribution. They have quirky flavors available now (and some in the near future) which include cinnamon apple, bananas foster, and watermelon. They tend to be on the sweeter side, and are all easy drinkers. They also have a very clear and simple vodka. It seemed to me that they didn't have a focus on darker spirits, and would continue to focus on the depth of rums as opposed to the breadth of spirits. The distillery is a co-located with a speed shop that apparently had a TV show not too long ago (where the folks would walk around with this rum in hand). An odd combo, but one that works! You can get gear from either side in their shared gift shop, along with a wide selection of complementary products - like mixers, syrups, snacks, and even beard oil! All products are also local and in the area, so it's a great example of small businesses supporting businesses. As of right now, they are running a groupon for tours and tastings which is a steal (I think we paid less than $10 for a flight and 2 cocktails per person), so grab it now because I can only imagine it'll just grow and they won't have any needs for sales! Thanks to Groupon we learned about Naked Spirits. We scheduled a tour and tasting and had a great time! We sampled the White Rum, Spiced Rum, Bananas Foster Rum (seasonal), and Vodka. All were great. If you're a bourbon drinker, you'll probably enjoy the spiced. As a vodka drinker, I enjoyed their vodka made from sugar; it's smooth! Two cocktails were also included. I had the Naked Sunset and Banana Hammock. The tour was informative but not too time consuming. They're a small place, so there's not a lot to take a look at. Support them. They're location is in the same space as Classic Car Studio Speed Shop in Brentwood, so you can check out some classic cars at the same time. read more

We really enjoyed this tour and tasting! Brandon/owner was the tour guide and he was great. He was super informative about his products and delivered some history regarding rum. The building was a little difficult to find due to some construction, but well worth the effort. The shop is great, with the rustic like appearance with a bar and a couple more high top tables with stools. Multiple products to look at while waiting for the tour to start. It started with some history and then into the tasting, we tried 5 or 6 rums all of which were tasty. Then we toured the distilling process, all of the distilling, labeling and bottling is done right here in the shop. We also had 2 mixed drinks which were great! Highly recommend this tour! read more

This is a distillery you have to come to!!! The whole tour is a great experience, you get to try over 6 different rum. The owner explained how each rum was made and the idea of how each one was for made. He is very knowledgeable on the whole alcohol industry and the history of rum. He is so friendly and he anwsers all the questions our group had. You just don't get to taste the rums you get 2 free cocktails with their products. Any drink you pick from their list of 5 will blow your mind. My favorite rum is their mocha that is brewed with real coffee compared to just the coffee flavor. It's so good I drank it straight and it had no burn. The building is nice and intimate with rum barrels all around that just gets you in a tasting mood. Their bottles cost about the same as name brand alcohols, so it's not that expensive but naked spirts flavors are 10x better. You have to check out this tour, it's 100% worth it. read more
