If I could give zero stars I would . It was dirty the curtains in room broken , tiny bugs in bathroom. The bathroom door didn't shut . The 2 chairs were disgusting all stained . The Wi-Fi if you could call it that was horrible. Tv kept losing signal and we tried to call the office twice no answer. The beds were crap and honestly we didn't feel safe . If I could, I would give it 0/5 stars. We were traveling from outside of Philly to Maine and chose here as a stopping point for the evening. Unfortunately, we hit traffic (as can happen around major metropolitan areas on a Friday) and we were going to miss the absurdly small checkin window (a detail conveniently hidden in the small print-honestly, I've only ever heard of "pet resorts" aka kennels having a 4 hour checkin window). I called and also messaged through the app. When someone did return my call, I was in a dead zone. The gist of the voicemail was, we would wait another 15 minutes but not 30..find another place to stay through the booking website. After driving for 9 hours, my husband and I had to quickly find another place to stay as it was becoming unsafe for us to continue our travels. AFTER we found a hotel with vacancy and booked, I receive an email (not a phone call) stating they've decided to leave the keys to a room for us. This information would've been useful BEFORE we spent an additional $300 for hotel room elsewhere! When I reached out to them to make things right, I received no response. Between the "we'll wait 15 minutes but not 30" and the mixed messages to book elsewhere and then we'll leave you a key, I would avoid this "resort". Stay at a reputable establishment (not much cost difference and can be just as convenient when passing through town). read more

I just had the worst experience in life I traveled 3 hrs when we got there the office was closed. We spent a hour calling the number for someone to call me back to inform me they cancelled my reservation. They were so disrespectful and said they were gonna call the police on one of the people renting a room. It was so devastating, my children were so distraught. We just spent one my night there. The beds were clean and there was not any bad odors. The bathroom was a different story. Around the toilet has not been cleaned in a long time, the tub needed a good scrubbing, the blinds were broken and there were tiny ants everywhere. If you decide to stay here, ask to see the room first. read more

Just returned from here and I must say, what a DUMP. The pictures on the website are NOT current. Please beware. We rented a 2 bdrom suite. Phone didnt work, moldy shower curtain, window blinds were stapled together and some of them were even missing slats. The pool area was disgusting. The bathroom in there was filthy, feces sitting in the toilet for our entire stay, no toilet paper, trash from previous people never picked up. The pool deck/flooring, paint was peeling. Our bedrooms, ceiling fans were wobbling to the point where they could of fallen and hurt someone. The floors were never swept. Our feet were filthy right after we got out of a shower. No matching remotes for the bedroom TV's so needless to say, no remotes worked. Deck was unstable and unsafe. deck moved when on it. didnt trust it. We ran out of toilet paper one night because the housekeepers, who spoke NO ENGLISH mind you, left us nothing more than 1/4 roll for 4 people. HELLO in this country we use more than that for 4 people. Owner, foreign himself, which I have no issues with however, gave us excuses to why things were not nice and such. Not able to reach anyone for anything after 8pm. They answer and hang up the phone and do not even answer the door at the main office. All in all we will NOT be returning. I am filing a complaint with the BBB for faulty advertisement on his website too. SO much more to tell, not enough time to write. read more

This place was an absolute hole in the ground. It lacked a smoke detector and had a bit of a stale smell. It had a smoke alarm at one point but it had been ripped out evidenced by the hole in the wall. My kids were unable to play outside due to the owners constantly berating them on sight. By the end of it, the owner refused our security deposit and ended up charging my card another 100 without discussion, warning or authorization. I urge everyone to stay away. There's literally a hundred different nearby establishments in the area of comparable price. Seriously don't risk your money or your life sleeping here. read more

My girlfriend and I booked a reservation here after previously staying a night in another motel by the beach and let me tell you it was a sh**show I called probably 4 times and got sent to voice mail each time after already making a reservation and when I went there to speak to someone the door was locked and no one to be around. When I finally got to speak to the man at the front desk he said we could not stay because of my girlfriend not being 21. Price and location were good. Less than 10 minute drive to the beach. Our initial room smelled like cigarette smoke, we immediately told the manager/owner and she gave us another room which was better. Rooms were decent, nothing special but nothing terrible. Cleaning people made the beds and took out the trash but didn't do a great job cleaning the toilet and bathroom. Wifi was a complete failure. Worked for a few minutes at a time and would constantly kick me off. Indoor pool was nice, however, it should be reserved for paying guests. I was expecting a nice, relaxing swim with my wife, but got to experience the owners young son splash and yell as he learned how to swim. Go with low expectations and you'll be happy. read more

I booked this place for a couple nights. What-A-Mistake! Looking at pictures, the property & rooms appear to be well maintained & clean. As another person wrote, there are NO pictures of the cans next to every door overflowing with used cigarettes. I reserved a NON-Smoking room and arrived to discover everyone around my room smoking like a chimney on the porch. This resulted in the smell of cigarettes in my room. The following morning I kindly asked owner if I could move to another room. Not only was he unwilling to work with me, he was beyond RUDE when merely asking if I could relocate away from the smoke & drug addicts occupying surrounding rooms. Absolutely awful. Was in town for a business conference and may have just been some of the worst service I have ever had to deal with in my years of travel. Towels with jet black stains. Questionable stains on the carpet, furniture, bedding, etc. Actual holes in the wall at this "hole in the wall" motel. Beds were lopsided and disheveled upon return, very poorly made, not worth the $300 for a two night stay. For that same price I could have bought a nice pillow and slept in the car. Wonkiest shower I have ever dealt with, but it gets pretty hot, and the water pressure is pretty good. Confusing to use at first. The WiFi is incredibly spotty. Non-smoking rooms that have most certainly been smoked in, possibly even hotboxed. Clerk station was ever so conveniently closed whenever anything was needed. Would consider 0 stars, but there are some somewhat redeemable qualities. (Shower temp, a/c, comfortable beds). We had plans in Portland and the only rooms available were super pricey, so we were happy to find Exit 5 in Saco. It was only a little more to stay in the honeymoon suite, and we were happy that we did. The cottage was nice and clean. The bed was comfy, and there was a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. I thought it was a wonderful room for the price. It really exceeded our expectations (although our expectations weren't that high) We didn't use the pool, but we noted that there was an indoor one. The guy in the office was really nice and was available when we needed him. Our only complaint was that the cable jack was broken on the TV in the living room, so the picture was a little fuzzy. My wife and I stayed here while in Maine. I must do all I can to warn other travelers to stay away from this place! My wife and I are non-smokers. We recently reviewed our statements and saw a $250.00 charge by Exit 5 on credit card. When we called the motel, they said smoking had occurred in our room. WE DO NOT SMOKE! There were 4 people around our rooms smoking when we stayed. It appears due to the smoking by people outside of our room, they charged us for the smell of smoke in our room. I have been on the phone for days now with my credit card trying to get this bogus charge returned. Aside of the fraudulent charges they engage in ... the place is terribly unkempt. I just wonder how many others have been hit with a false charge by this place. Now I understand why there were non-refund signs everywhere. What a racket this place is pulling. read more

BUYER BEWARE** AVOID** SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!!! We called to book a Sat. night and asked if he had a 2 night policy, he said no and booked us, telling us there was a no refund policy, and our credit card would be charged immediately, no problem, we said. We also told him we would be arriving late as we planned a day at funtown USA, dinner so forth. Well, after a wonderful day, we arrived at 9:30 to check in and he had given our room away. We had to drive 2 hours home with tired and very disappointed kids who looked forward all week to their little holiday in Maine. In all my years of booking places all over New England this has never happened to me. Everyone knows winging it is impossible as all rooms are booked on summer weekends. This guy wants his cake and eat it to. So he didn't charge our credit card, just in case he could rent it for a 2 night stay. DON'T MAKE A RESERVATION AND EXPECT THAT YOU ARE OK, AS THIS PLACE IS SHADY, may have been a blessing in disguise, from reading other reviews.
