Sahara is one of those spots in the Dyckman/Inwood area that is in the cut that you might not catch right away but will have to venture along the strip by the 1 train. Music was at a decent level where it was lively and of course primarily Latin. Loud but not too loud that you can't hear the person that you're there with speaking to you. Drinks were on point as I had a frozen margarita on here and I believe a whiskey and coke. Both were strong just how I like it. The restaurant is pretty unassuming compared to the other restaurants on the island - I actually drove right past it. They don't have a parking lot but street parking wasn't too hard to find. On Wednesdays they have bar specials $6 Sangria and $20 shrimp and fries. I ordered both.....actually I ordered 3 Sangrias they were THAT good. The shrimp and fries were good as well. You get about six shrimp and the fries were actual potatoes cut into wedges. I would have preferred either more shrimps or larger shrimps and less fries but they were good. The draw on Wednesday nights is karaoke. It was ALOT of fun and it gets crowded so be prepared to put your name on the list and wait to sing your song.
