I took my cockatiel here to get groomed. The guy who handled my bird was gentle, fast and efficient. While waiting, they have several birds in cages that you can look at. To my surprise, they have a toucan. I've never seen one before! The cages are kept clean and the shop itself is clean and tidy. I was in the area and stopped by to inquire about the DNA testing for my DYH. I was greeted by Jonathan and he was very professional. While asking a few questions, e.g. availability, duration, pricing, time to get results, etc. He and the owner were explaining the process and also offered me a 1 time free of charge grooming for Mateo (my bird). I made an appointment for the next day. I was there for my appointment and Jonathan helped me with Mateo. I told him that he can be aggressive and he assured me that everything was going to be just fine. When I saw him handling my bird, I was impressed. He knew what he was doing. He did the grooming right in front of me, got the blood sample for the DNA test. And we were done. I couldn't be happier. His interaction with me was amazing, but his interaction with my bird was jaw drooping. There was another female employee (sorry didn't get her name) she was also very helpful. I enquired about veterinaries in the area and she gave me a list and gave me great recommendations. Can't wait to get the DNA results for my (currently boy) bird. lol. I had a wonderful experience leaving my birds at this facility while I was on vacation. The staff was extremely helpful and reassuring whenever I called. They provided detailed updates on how my birds were doing and were very accommodating to any requests I had. I left my two parakeets there, and I appreciated the spacious cage they provided for them. Came in the other day to get Miggy, my sibling's pet sun conure, to get groomed. Specifically to get his wings clipped but they also offer other services such as beak, and nails for birds. They do recommend getting an appointment beforehand but they also accept walk-ins. The wings being clipped by themselves is $6 flat in total, which is amazing. They have other price points for other services. The service was so pleasant and nice. A young gentleman helped us out and he was super outgoing and welcoming! He answered all of our many questions, as it was our first time getting Miggy's wings clipped. Before trimming he showed us the two types of trims they offer. One was the complete clean clip and the other one was the show clip where they leave the 1-3 longest parts of their wings, which is the one we decided to get (image I attached for visual reference). He was very informative throughout the entire process. The actual trimming process took less than 1 min! Super efficient and fast! NOTE: You can let them know exactly what part you want trimmed and which stays. They will do exactly what you ask. You are not subjected to only picking the clean clip or show clip. As we didn't know what to expect with the new trim, in terms of how high Miggy can now fly, after the trim he let us go inside the bathroom to test the flight which was really the cherry on top of our visit. Overall they handle birds here with care. Their service is top notch and I definitely recommend coming here! You will NOT regret it. read more

Awful customer service. I stopped at this store because I was near by and I wanted to see what's here. I realized it's a bird store and me and my daughter started looking around and of course my little girl was happy and excited seeing all those birds. The employees weren't very welcoming after realizing that we walked inside because we were at nearby business. Everyone that works there is gentle and kind, it is the only place I will board my 18 year old Sun Conure "Chilly" It is also where I go for his nail and wing trimming and after my last boarding of him, I was told that wing and nails are complimentary before or after the boarding. My boyfriend and I recently got our now 2 month old baby cockatiel here a couple weeks ago and we have been having such a fun and happy time with her. Our baby Bobo isn't old enough yet to actually distinguish her gender, but whichever it is, my boyfriend and I love her all the same. She always asks for attention whenever we head out for little trips whether its the store, the gym, or just work.Occasionally, we do bring her into work with us just so she's not lonely. Other than that, the staff we spoke to were very kind and helpful. I have had many cockatiels in the past and other birds, but my boyfriend never owned a bird before and never thought to own one in the first place, but our cute little baby Bobo makes us sooo happy. This place is the devils spawn. I brought in my two parakeets and specifically requested them to NOT cut their wings off if I were to give my birds to them. Not only did they lie to me, but they cut their wings off two minutes later IN FRONT OF ME. I would have never given my birds to them had I known this was going to happen. My birds loved to fly around my room and would always fly side by side together. It's awful knowing they could never do that again. I would not recommend coming here. read more

Just had my 36-year-old Amazon Parrot, Denni, groomed here for the first time. (His old groomer had finally retired and closed his shop.) OMG! It was wonderful! Denni is usually a fighter and a biter during grooming. He literally hates it and it always took two people to hold him down and get it done. Well today, this really sweet gal named Elise wrapped him gently in a towel, kind of like when you swaddle a newborn. He just layed there quietly, never fussed or tried to bite or get away, not even once. Elise was so gentle with him. It seemed more like a "spa" experience for him rather than the fighting, biting, hysterical screaming ritual of torture that it usually is. This girl is magic! All of the employees were so nice and helpful. We will be regular customers of Exotic Birds by Fran from now on! Very highly recommend! read more

I really needed to give Fran and her shop a review because of my experience. My daughter and I went into the shop on Friday to purchase our very first bird. We purchased an English budgie. The staff was wonderful and took time to explain all of the pet care with me. They went above and beyond. Well once we got home I immediately started sneezing and things progressively got worse over the next few days. I had no idea I was allergic. Once Fran found out she reached out to me and was very professional and shared with me her experience with bird allergies and urged me to bring the bird back and prioritize my health. She issued me a full refund as well. I was blown away with how she handled the situation. I've never experienced such a professional business owner in my life. I love going to this bird store! It is fun to interact with the birds there. Also, the employees there are kind and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help their customers and seem to truly love their job. This store sells birds, toys, and bird-related things. They also do grooming. I bought a cockatiel from this place and a worker gave me food, toys, and other things to go with it! He also told me a lot of information about birds and how to care for them. They told me that I can bring my new bird to the store for free checkups, to make sure that it wasn't losing or gaining too much weight. I could also get grooming there for free! Everything is great about this store, except for two things. The babies have their wings clipped and are weaned onto seeds. I don't agree with these things because they are both bad for the birds' health! Clipping has a lot of negative affects on the birds and so do seeds. Many people wean their birds onto seeds and clip their wings because it is easier, but it isn't healthy for them. This isn't a thing to be surprised about, though, because it is very common among breeders. read more
