The store is clean and well organized. The staff are very friendly. They have good variety of pets, food, toys and accessories. The prices are reasonable with sales here and there throughout the year. We always stop by weekly to check on random sales for our fishes and turtles. PetSmart, you need to do better with your grooming staff!! Our appointment was canceled on 7/25, and we were told it had been rebooked for 7/26. However, when we called to verify the time we were informed that nothing had been rescheduled. They were able to offer a later appointment for the same day- only to be called 20 minutes later after drop off and told the grooming couldn't be done at all. This is completely unprofessional and frustrating. We went out of our way two days in a row based on your team's communication, only to end up with no service. Came in for some feeder goldfish I asked for help at the front and within 30 seconds Matt was there to assist me. He was very professional, polite, and helpful. I got 10 little ones and two big ones and it took him about a minute to finish serving them up. Whatever you need for your fur- family members, you will find it here. This PetSmart is located at 9835 Chapman Ave Garden Grove, CA 92841. It really isn't the cleanest or most organized Petsmart though to be completely honest. For example, the floors weren't as clean as they should have been. There was pet toys on the ground or tossed down random isles. Not a huge deal I guess, but if you are bringing your fur-baby with you, then you want to know that it is clean and hygienic. I brought my pups here for a check-up. I think it was for her shots follow-up. The doctor was great. Not issues there. Just the overall cleanliness of the place was lacking. read more

Mind you there were two employees behind the counter with fresh groomed hair all over the floor. GROOMING REVIEW!! If you truly care about your pets, DO NOT book a grooming appointment here, especially with Annie V. Two of my dogs (white samoyed and tan lab) came here for a grooming session on July 20th. I had to deal with the poor outcome and finally have time to post a review now (7 days later) after taking care of my dog. At arrival, a PetSmart associate examined my dogs and deemed them healthy with no matting or wounds. I had asked if they can trim my dog's butt area but the associate mentioned that the groomer had to leave early that day. When it came close to pick up, PetSmart called me and said my white samoyed only needed a few more minutes to dry his paws. Upon pick up time, both dogs appeared thoroughly cleaned however later that night I noticed that my white dog's undercoat was still damp. This led to lots matting and itching. The following night I tried to comb out his fur myself but wasn't able to do it all. The next morning because of the matting and itching, my dog had licked himself crazy and tore through a patch of skin!! Now he has a huge oozing wound that needs antibiotics and topical spray to heal. Look at the included image for the size of the wound :( my poor baby is in an e-collar now to keep him from licking the wound and I'm still trying to brush his undercoat out Also you can see in my photos, my dog's ears are still very dirty. Ear cleaning is a part of the basic bath and brush but clearly the groomer was in such a rush that she didn't do her job properly for both of my dogs. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PETSMART! I just visited the store today on August 11, 2021 and can conclude that this store and its employees DO NOT CARE for the animals whatsoever. These poor animals are living in poor conditions to the point where they are dying left and right. This location needs an inspection because the amount of animals dying is absolutely unacceptable. Corporate needs to train their employees to ensure that all the animals at the store are maintained and cared for humanely. These poor animals seem as if they do not get fed enough because they were eating one another! At first, I did not realize there was a dead hamster until I looked closer. One of the hamster's limbs were chewed down to its bones and the poor hamster's guts were spilling out. In another tank, I thought a bearded dragon was sleeping, but realized that it was dead because it was not breathing at all. As for the aquatic animals, there were an ABUNDANT amount of dead fish. By not removing these dead animals, it puts the other living creatures at risk as they are more likely to get sick. Worst experience in my entire life. If you're in need of dog toys/snacks/food this a great place to visit. While Petsmart is a bit on the pricier side, they do have things you need immediate access to and cant wait on Amazon. They have great deals here sometimes on fish stuff. I started getting into fish keeping recently and bought a 20 gallon fish tank with a heater, plants, all that good stuff. I will say I am disappointed in one of the aquatic animals they have there. Specifically the African Dwarf frogs. They were diseased and luckily I was able to quarantine them from my other aquatic life but was unable to save them :( read more

Came here last minute on a week night as my normal auto-ship order for pill pockets was running behind and my dog is a jerk who will spit the pill out if given it inside any other type of food (don't worry- I love him more than most family members, but he's a stubborn bulldog). I also needed to return an item as well. Parking here is pretty good as it's a huge complex with many many stores. This store is smaller than some of the other petsmarts in Orange County, but I was able to get the pill pockets I needed and even picked up a new flavor for him to try (cheese). I am rating this store a 4 as it was clean and the cashier was super friendly and even asked a bit about our dog. Ended picking up a few extra things for the pup (because he's a spoiled, stubborn pup) and was on my way. Overall an easy breezy experience! read more

Right after Memorial Day weekend, went to Garden Grove location. The staff is absolutely awesome. Always smiling and so helpful. However, we purchased some pee pads from Top Paw item#5277052 regular 23x24 and 150 pads with 5 layers of leak protection and holds 8 cups. That was a total waste of money. We thought because it reads;holds 8 cups. We thought we could make it stretch abit. With Great Choice holding 2 cups those were good enough. Didn't seep through. Our dog would use it twice depending on how much and where he peed on the pad. So seeing this brand, we took a chance on it. That was a bad call. The pads from Top Paw barely hold his pee. We have to throw it out fast before it seeps through. These pads from Top Paw item#5277052 do not hold what they specify. I can usually stretch out the pad to be used twice when we use Great Choice. But these pads from Top Paw do not work. Photo included shows his pad just being peed on. And it wasn't even that much pee. It just spread quick. I should've took a photo of underneath the pad where you can see the moisture already setting in. But too late now. I may just have to go back to Great Choice Dog Pads. However, as much as we are completely dissatisfied with our purchase of Top Paw brand. There's one bag we bought before that. Top Paw Carbon Training Pads item#5337038 Those worked very good. Although we didn't see them during our last visit, that's why we bought the type I'm now complaining about. That carbon one did the job. So if I can find them again #5337038, I'll buy them. The cashier and the guy who helped me leash my dogs were very nice and soo friendly but the grooming service was really lack luster. The service is supposed to come with sanitary trim and my dogs bellies and butts were left untouched. They even still had little pieces of stuff in their legs and fur dangling from their tail from our walks prior. The paws still had hair all over as well. This is the second time We've had this groomer, the first time was just a nail grind and she also seemed to struggle with that. read more

I have been a regular at this PetSmart for almost 2 years after rescuing my pup. By and large I have not been thrilled with the quality of my pups cuts with the exception of 1 time. This most recent time really was the last straw. I leave my dog and then shortly after I get a call that they would be charging me extra for mats and fleas. Mats have been an issue at times for my pet because of her fine fair but fleas? Never. So whatever I say it's fine because she's already there but at this point my $65 groom was nearing the $100 mark. I arrived several hours later to my pup groomed and imagine my surprise at the botched, uneven, and downright ugly cut my dog had! The picture is 3 weeks after the cut and you can see the variations of lengths, and blunt cuts. It's disgusting that they can get away with charging so much as well as scamming customers fees they make up. I have already found a new groomer and will be moving along to support a small business. read more

He smells so good and he looks so clean/shiny. She even put a cute little bandanna on him. So it was my first taking my dog to get a haircut with one of the sweetest employees who groom the dogs. I believe her name is Allison, she many my dog felt loved and not even scared at all. She looked freshly groomed and well brushed. And when I went to pick up my dog, while I was waiting she was talking softy and respectfully to one of her clients owners and he was just being rude to her for no reason when overhearing that the owners dog trying biting her but she took it like a professional and handled it perfectly. Tight cages together some 2 dogs in one and others 3 dogs in one cage . The other cage had at least 10 of them blankets under the cage mind you they had NO WATER ! I got to the PetSmart in Buena Park closer to my home to get my rabbit food and they always have the adoption for dogs INDOORS! With AC FULL BAST ON for the DOGS / CATS . They really need to quit it at this location in Garden grove and out the POOR INNOCENT DOG INDOORS WITH AC . ! And WATER ! . I love the adoptions but didn't love seeing this!!!! read more

It was a terrible experience to me. It stated on self that but one get one 25 percent off the second item. I buy a food that cost 25 dollars and then I get 25 percent off the $5 item even though I bought two $25 items. I did talk to the manager and he said that the system will automatically discount the lowest item. Unbelievable to me. Just think about it, what is the point of getting two $25 items. When I got to my car, I realized my dog had loose hair all over her like she hadn't been brushed. They also said they couldn't do the nail filing because my pup was scared but I think I was still charged for it because it was extra. Then come to find out my poor pup is losing her hair because the soap wasn't fully washed off her body. And my face even broke out from an allergic reaction to the soap!
