My experiences have been so bad that i was waiting for something to go wrong or for there to be a catch at the end with fees. But everything went smooth from booking the RV, picking up, and returning the RV. Joey was super helpful from the beginning. He responded quickly to any emails we sent with questions and gave us all the information we needed at pick up. He was great to work with and was the main reason this experience went so smoothly. There were no surprising fees in the end and the return process was quick and easy. The RV we rented was called the "pinocchio" and it was by far the nicest one i've been in. i really dont want to write this but i didnt appreciate the service here. the owners wife is a lovely woman and she was very kind and easy going with everything but Martin the owner wasnt the greatest. in person hes a nice guy but not very professional behind the scenes. when we returned the rv we had damaged the awning and one of the keys. i told them we would pay whatever was needed. after a week or so i got an email that they had found additional damage. everything was reasonable besides damage to the shower they said we did when we never used it once. my issue is that martin (or whoever is in charge of this) went ahead and charged me $2,000 extra of all the "damage" without showing proof of anything. i told him i wanted to see photos since they are very thorough at that. he told me they would have a busy weekend but would get to it but they sure wasnt too busy to charge me for all the damage without proof. after they ended up finding out the damage had already been there prior to me renting. they said i would get refunded the extra charges but i still had to remind them over a week later to do so. it was just a nuisance which is a shame because again they seemed so nice in person. not to mention they have their own repair guy so they can just make up the damage amount really. theres no invoice shown of what theyre being "charged" they just tell u and they dont reply to emails after what they say. they just do it without even having a conversation about it. they can say the damage is $800 and if u ask for an invoice or something they just dont respond. all i would say is be careful and pay attention. theyre not bad people but i personally didnt appreciate the theatrics with everything after the fact and the lack of transparency and communication. it seemed a bit shady in my opinion read more

I recently rented a 25 ft Class B Motorhome to take to the beach. I'd never driven a motorhome before, but found it to be pretty easy. Pick up and drop off was a breeze. All the folks at Expedition are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating, especially Joey and Ilda. Their on line videos are super helpful too. All of their motorhomes are on the newer side, and in "like new" condition. Even when the pandemic started our reservations at Carpinteria were cancelled by the state and Martin offered a Refund but I told him to hold it because I usually rent an RV twice a year from him. I have been renting motor homes annually from Expedition Motor Homes for about 20 years. Without question they are the best in the area. I tried some others before but ultimately used Expedition and they were the best. Martin, who is the owner, is very fair in his pricing. He has at times allowed me to pick up my motorhome on a Saturday when my trip starts on Monday and did not charge me. Not many motor home rental places would ever consider doing something like that. Lupita who does the walk through on the motor homes is always very courteous and knows the motor homes inside and out. She has been there for years and I am sure a very valued employee of Martin's. Started as a great experience till we started our trip, the 2008 Hurricane A class RV was poorly maintained and the gas heater did not work so we had to use the electrical to heat water. When we picked up the RV they took pictures of the RV from every angle and when we got back they claimed we had damage on the front (not from us) but when we asked to see the pictures from when we picked up the RV they claimed they don't have them.(front pictures) Looking at the pictures of the person that they rented the RV too before us also didn't have any photos of the front of the RV. Rented many RV units in my life and never had to deal with something like this. Don't rent here unless you are looking to get charged for things you didn't do with out any supporting photos or documents. read more

First and foremost I want to highly recommend this company if you are looking to rent an RV, particularly if you're concerned about Covid safety protocols. Our family has been extremely cautious during the pandemic and the RV trip/rental with Expedition (our first RV experience) made us feel safe throughout the process, from our initial questions (we had many), to narrowing down the options in person, the check in/walk through, throughout our trip when we had questions and problems pop up they were a phone call away and finally when we returned the vehicle. Our trip was 6 days and we went with another family who also rented an RV. Together we did our homework looking for the right company. We found Expedition online without any references but the more we talked with Jenny and Martin we realized they are straightforward, knowledgeable and trustworthy. My biggest initial concern was sanitation on the premises and of course in the RV. Everybody working for the company wore masks, respected social distancing and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. We were able to watch them cleaning an RV as we walked around the lot and could witness how deep the sanitation process was. That made me feel much more comfortable. The options for rentals were varied in class, size, options. But the decisions never felt overwhelming and everyone we spoke with over the two weeks of exploring options were patient and helpful. The more questions we asked the more we learned and there was never any pressure. We could tell that their goal was not to make a sale but to ensure that our first RV experience was a good one and that we'd want to do it again. When we made our decision and were about to embark on the journey, the walk through was thorough but to be honest there were so many things to learn that we weren't absorbing everything. We tried to cover all the things we didn't understand before we left but they assured us that if we had questions along the way that they would be there to walk us through those issues. And they were! Between our two families there were issues big and small over the week but no matter what came up we were able to solve them all and always felt supported. With all of the moving parts of an RV rental our experience is that the most important aspects in deciding who to rent from are the company's variety of options, the vehicle maintenance and their customer service (from safety protocols through accessibility and problem solving). Our rental with Expedition was an A+ and we have already been in touch with them about doing it again and even exploring purchasing a vehicle, which Martin was incredibly helpful with- even selflessly offering to help us find the right fit with other companies. We just got back from a week long road trip in a 28 foot RV from El Monte RV rentals. The RV came clean and had all the comfort of being home while on the road. We brought food and cooked in the kitchen every day. It was also very convenient to travel with a working toilet so midnight walks to a restroom was not necessary. The sales associate Steve Wong was very helpful and fair with our trip. He allowed us to pick up the motor home a night early so we could hit the road in the morning. He also allowed us a few extra hours to get the motor back on the end of our trip since we had a big drive back to Van Nuys. Great customer service Steve! Be careful getting an Rv from this company they rented my wife and I one it was delivered had a cracked windshield the AC didn't work when you drove, it had an ac in the back bed room that after a few hours of use it would start dipping water out of the fan above the bed and drip on to you, if you used the fan it had a horrible squeak on low even worse when on high they also clam you damage their vehicle when you give it back. They will also charge you for extra days even if they set a pick up time an miss it I should have read the reviews first it seems like the ones with low stars are correct they probably have their friends and family write the good ones the DVD player for the Rv also didn't work the horn also did not work witch is pretty dangerous in such a big vehicle if some one is drifting in you lane you have no way to worn any one the freezer also smelt of horrible rotten cheese we did bring our dog last min so the $500 for pet cleaning wasn't bad but other wise you don't plan on getting your security deposit back they up charge and make up Damage the helper Lupita and the owner just placate you by saying we are so sorry we will learn from this that are the biggest scammers and bullshitters around, All the shades we're also ripped up the closet door was falling apart and the RV was just the overall piece of shit if we would've went out and had it delivered we would have never rented from them save your money save your headache have a wonderful trip go to El Monte RV Or any other Place for a better customer service and vehicles your trip will be a lot better to the owner must have bin from a used car salesmen back ground and are son left his iPod on the rv they clam is wasn't their just a bunch of over all low life's read more

My company and I have now rented from expedition motorhomes twice (once for an event and once for a week long trip out into the desert with our film crew). Both times they were very helpful and courteous! Ilda helped us on our first trip and got us two fantastic RVs that worked out perfectly, and also really helped us figure out their insurance situation and what exactly we needed to do to rent from them. Joey helped us on our second trip, which was only a day long, and was very friendly and able to accommodate us for an extremely last minute rental (which we really appreciated). Every time we've rented from them, the staff of Expedition Motorhomes have helped us find the best RV possible for our price range, with the features we were looking for, and were extremely clear on their policies and prices (what they charge for, how many generator hours, miles driven and cleaning hours were included, etc.). The RVs were in great condition and were exactly what we had asked for, and had no mechanical issues or trouble on the road. I was very specific on the phone and asked about all of their policies in detail, and had no problems or surprise charges whatsoever when we returned the RVs. I would seriously recommend renting from this company, they're probably on of the most trustworthy RV companies anywhere near Los Angeles. Just be sure to ask about their policies and what they charge for and make sure to follow their guidelines and rules, and you should get your full safety deposit back and have no issues. 10/10, would rent from again (and probably will)! read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING - My friends and I needed a RV for a last minute trip up to El Capitan State Beach this weekend. We only needed an RV for a short duration and none of the RV places we called up were willing to be flexible....then we called Expedition Motorhome - the staff was helpful, polite and got us moving on with a pretty sweet RV. Our RV was clean and super-ballerfic, complete with two flat-screen TVs, a freezer, and a DVD player. Moreover, the staff at Expedition took the extra time to make sure we knew how to operate every part of the vehicle - a definite necessity when you are stuck without a power or water hookup wherever you park.
