Instead of helping me exchange what I believed was a defective vehicle, I was told by the manager that I could be charged around $500 simply because the car would be left in Las Vegas. I was not trying to voluntarily change my return location or turn this into a one-way rental. I was asking for help because the vehicle was having a problem. The way this was handled made it feel like I was being financially penalized for reporting an issue with Dollar's own car. The communication was dismissive and the proposed charge was excessive and poorly explained. I would strongly recommend getting every fee and contingency in writing before renting from this location, especially if you plan to drive any meaningful distance from Simi Valley. Actually I would strongly recommend you simply stay away from this location. Very disappointing customer service and not how I expected a mechanical issue to be handled.
