It's the end to Segment 3 (Gravel Bin to Bogus) and the beginning of Segment 4 (Bogus to Susan), where the next launch spot is. There's a campground conveniently located across the street not far away. The improvements here mainly consist of a pullout, bathrooms, a sign mapping the float sections and times, as well as significant rapids. This is not a drive-down launch - anything you want to launch must be ported down to the river via a dirt trail. As with most (if not all) launches on this river. There's at least one picnic table, although I wouldn't count this amongst the most scenic spots to have lunch. It's more for utility's sake. We stopped here on our quick tour of the river. It was a dry year, with much lower-than-average water levels, so floating wasn't even an option, even by late June. This didn't stop us from heading down to the river and wading in. A nice break when road-tripping through the area. There's a shallow shelf of bedrock that runs out into the river, providing a perfect launch platform. It's also a pretty mellow section of river. There aren't really many ideal fishing spots here, however. I'm definitely coming back to float this river some day.

I also walked the short river trail--it used to be more accessible, and unfortunately, there was some junk piled up that was unsightly. I did my best to comply with the rules, which were very reasonable. I have continued to do the same with the current owner and the evolving changes. Some of which include having a few tenants move out to address DANGER trees within the park. One has already fallen over in a recent wind storm. The recent flood also developed some issues to be addressed as well. Improvements and safety concerns come with unpleasant decisions that make for unhappy people. Unfortunate, but should be understandable. That said. I have visited many RV parks near and far. Yes, you can find fancier ones with more facilities. But we love the quite beautiful place we have here. I am a disabled veteran and can (by the grace of God) live anywhere suitable to our needs. But honestly, I will choose here over ANYWHERE we have looked at to date. I understand the changes going on and support the owner and the park rules as attempts are being made to improve our living environment. We will get past this "bump" and see a much love comfort returned. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy and keep an open mind to reasonable rules. It works for us and might for you as well. There are two laundry rooms, as well as clean and convenient showers and bathrooms. The manager, Josh, and the maintenance manager, Casey, do an outstanding job of making residents feel welcome. They add a personal touch to their interactions with everyone who calls this park home, which really sets this place apart. Thorough background checks ensure a safe and friendly community, and even the overnight guests seem to leave with smiles on their faces based on what I've observed. For visitors, I highly recommend requesting spaces 1, 2, or 3. These spacious pull-through spots are perfect for larger rigs and are conveniently located closer to the boat ramp and beaches. As I always suggest, ask Josh for tips on the best fishing spots on the river. He's a great resource for finding hot spots for steelhead, salmon, and bass.

I was surprised to learn the freeway isn't as loud as you would expecting being so close to it. I am disappointed in a couple of things that keep coming up: The showers and bathrooms are not very clean. They seem to get a light cleaning regularly, but not a deep scrub, and the smell of mold/mildew is persistent. ***Owners took off door stops to showers residents used to he8lp air them out, and now it's almost impossible to breath in the showers because the mold/mildew smell is so strong. There is a huge issue with garbage-there isn't enough dumpsters or they don't get picked up often enough, so there is always garbage outside of the dumpster until the host comes and jumps on it to make it compact down enough to fit (OSHA hazard!!) Water is a huge issue in this park, between the owners being upset with how much we use in our spaces to the sprinklers not watering grass but the road we drive in to the fact that drinking the tap water actually gives me heartburn! I am so excited to see this place continue to improve, from what I understand this place used to have a lot of problems but honestly those are the only issues I see! The host did try hard to be on top of all the details, and was always open to hearing what's going on in the park. ***There is no longer any host to the park because of "Covid-19 restrictions" being imposed on businesses. It's all faceless and online to book a stay, and there is an email posted and message phone for contacting the owners for any issues.

A large group of teenagers were playing basketball and making significant noise until 11:15 PM, making it difficult for us to get some much needed rest. We chose your KOA campground because we expect the park rules to be respected. We hope stricter enforcement of campground 'noise' rules will be a priority moving forward for your guests.
