    Have american hone shield as a warranty company and the 1st diagnosis was wrong and tried to sell me something else at a higher rate. In the end was a bad 230 volt breaker because the pool sweep motor was shorted and took it out. They tried to sell me a jandy relay board that was not the issue. Now after 5 calls (per phone log) and several emails I have a response back that said the motor was not covered. I looked up my contract and it is. I will also file with the BBB and every other review I can. Do nit use these people.

    The WORST customer service ever!!!! After two months of trying to get a simple light fixed in our pool we received this email from the company after they no-showed for 2 appts, never called to explain why, and we sent an email asking when the work was going to get done. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.

    I see my experience with Expert Pools is not unusual since many have shared strikingly similar stories here over the years. As I read them I'm stunned by the unprofessional responses to negative reviews and feel certain that taking a less defensive and more introspective approach would serve them well. I'll start by saying my technician Jamie Reed was extremely nice and I still have a hunch he's a good person stuck in a poorly run, unethical company. I get the idea he's burdened by the way he's expected to handle American Home Shield claims. While I choose to believe that, it doesn't take away from his role or the fact I've been lied to and taken advantage of. Expert Pools was sent to us by AHS on a claim we made re: the Polaris pump/motor. It was not working, it only made a sound so loud (we could hear it throughout our home and a neighbor also dropped by to ask us to turn it off) before eventually shutting down. Expert came out and the technician told me we needed a new motor and he'd submit the diagnosis. AHS said Expert's report stated a new motor would only be to control sound but the pump works fine. Hoping to clear things up and move the process along, I called Expert several times and left messages that were never returned. Texts to the technician were met with confusion and claims that he filed the report himself and it said exactly what he told me it did. As I pressed for answers I received two text messages (screenshot attached) from a number I didn't recognize claiming the technician had NOT told AHS we need a new motor, it's just "a little loud." I asked the technician about the anonymous texts and gave him the number they came from. He said he had no idea what number that was or who would be sending them. I reminded him the texts referenced him by name and mentioned the diagnosis he filed. He still had no idea despite having worked at Expert for years. I also told him I'd responded twice asking, "Who is this," but the person did not identify him/herself. The AHS/Expert Pools game is simple. AHS sends Expert to diagnose and then Expert reports grossly minimized findings. Knowing the report is erroneous, the policyholder is then in a never ending circle- call AHS (always an hour call or more), hear that they're trying to reach the vendor but can only go off of the filed diagnosis. Customer calls the vendor and can never reach them. It's a time consuming, frustrating experience that lasts months until the policyholder stops pursuing the matter. I'm not going away after investing 4.5 months of seeking a solution to my contractual claim. I'm floored by the blatant organized scheme/conduct of both AHS and Expert Pools as well as other "preferred vendors" who receive "awards" from AHS of thousands of dollars. A quick google search will provide the details. Would not recommend. To put it mildly.

    If you want your pool to look like this, Expert Pools is for you!

    We hired Expert Pools because we are not experts at servicing our own pool. We relied on them to help us keep our pool clean and in good working condition. Our experience was initially fantastic. Our service tech was initially very good. He arrived every week on our service day and our pool looked great year-round. He became less and less reliable each year and we routinely had to contact him about when he would be servicing our pool. He neglected to show up many weeks, which led to our pool turning in to a swamp in which we then had to pay for added cleaning services. Expert Pools says they provide all chemicals. We have had to purchase hundreds of dollars of shock (at our tech's direction) to try to keep our pool clear. When he cleaned our filter, he sprayed all the filth over our almost pristine grass that took a lot of work to get in that condition. He left our pool equipment in a condition that was completely non-functioning and when I contacted the main office, they ignored my request for another technician to provide the services we have paid for. If you want your pool to look like a filthy lake, have a tech that doesn't always show up each week like you pay for and expect, or have to clean and treat your own pool, then Expert Pools is for you. UPDATE: A manager, Kyle contacted me only after I threatened to dispute their most recent charge to my credit card because they didn't perform the services we had already paid for. Kyle would not listen to me, spoke over me, tried to "mansplain" how it was our own fault our pool was such a mess, and told me we would have had a better experience with them if our tech didn't have so many pools to try to attend to (so he couldn't always get to ours) and if he had been a better salesman and sold us upgraded equipment (ours is just a few years old). He also responded to my negative Google review with statements that are utterly false and called me a liar three times in one paragraph. In looking at his responses to their other negative reviews, literally calling customers "liars" is their go to. Highly unprofessional.

    They make you feel as if they are doing a favor by fixing your pool. Don't have basic manners to talk and are super rude. Horrible !

Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We did the "Green-to-Clean ($800)". It took SIX weeks. We had to repeatedly follow up because they would go ~2 weeks without showing up or communicating. When we asked, we were told there was an emergency situation, we tried to be understanding, but there was no proactive communication on their end. We decided weekly service ($250/month). After the initial clean, we signed up for weekly maintenance. Within 24-48 hours of each visit, chlorine levels would drop back to 0 ppm. GP&A's explanation was that our pool system was outdated and needed to be replaced. However, we had two separate pool inspections done when we purchased the home, plus 3-4 other pool companies assess the equipment, none of them flagged the system (installed in 2017) as a problem requiring replacement. Upsell attempts: GP&A quoted us a full system replacement (under $6,000) and then a filter replacement (~$2,200) before they said they could continue service. We decided to move on to another provider. End of service: We asked if they could continue maintaining the pool through the end of the month. Their last visit was six days before the final day of the month (image attached). The pool was visibly green and in poor condition by end of month (again they serviced it 6 days ago and it is this green; not adding enough chlorine). When we brought this up, they responded that the condition was "consistent with the unresolved filtration issue for which repairs were recommended", essentially placing responsibility on us for not purchasing their repair package. We were looking for a long-term, trustworthy pool service company. What we experienced was poor communication, inconsistent results, and recommendations that no other company has supported. I cannot recommend GP&A based on our experience.

See promise. He did not follow through. He asked me to change a horrible review after only showing up to 2 out of 8 weeks of paid service weeks and once he saw a bad review promised to make it right. He had left my pool to fester with black algea. He came out and treated it with shock one time after he'd already promised to drain and Acid wash, but hey I wanted it to be easier on him despite screwing us over. Then a week later he finally sends a message saying he wasn't coming back. My pool was not better. It was still in horrible condition. I have yet to find a company willing to help me get it cleared without charging me upwards if 500-700 dollars just to reverse what he allowed to get so bad by not coming when scheduled for weeks at a time. Worst of all ignoring all of my attempts to reach him and on thebrare occasion he replied, he would promise to come by the next day, but not show up. We realized he only came the final time to ask us to remove the negative review. Which I stupidly did, trusting that he would make it right. We are still struggling to fund a service provider after the position he left us in. Be careful. He has two company names as well. Exalted Pools and this one. I also later realized what he was telling me he was putting in my pool and what the reports were saying were very different. The reports were saying way less than what he was telling me. I whole heartedly trusted him and gave him the benefit of the doubt even after the first 3 weeks he ignored our pool, but then he ignored us again. I have never been so mistreated by a company if any kind. Be cautious and pay attention.

In fairness, when he did show up he cleaned our pool sufficiently...he just isn't reliable. We told him we needed pool service every other week to which he agreed. However, in July he only showed once but charged us for a full month of service. In August, he did show up twice to provide service but charged us for a whole month of weekly service. He did correct the billing when I went to cancel. I tried to contact him via his company website but it has since disappeared. He eventually responds to text messages with promises to show up, but then doesn't show. One of the other Yelpers has pointed out he is operating under 3 different company names, (this Yelp page used to be "Harvest Pool Services" last month...he's also going under the name "Jason" now) and his "business address" listed above is actually https://www.mckinneypackandparcel.com. After 6 weeks, we had to cancel. Maybe he just has more business than he can handle, but things seem kinda sketchy. Buyer beware.....

Windy River Pools is a new company owned by the Kessler's, a married couple. Robert Kessler owned Pacific Builders Group- a Landscaping & Pool - Design/Build Out company in California for 28 years. He takes that knowledge and his General Contractor license in pool building, renovation and maintaining to Texas! Windy River Pools offers a holistic approach in pool maintenance! When I set up an account with them, Robert trouble-shooted my poorly working Polaris, tuned-up my pool equipment, evaluated the pool water chemistry and vacuumed, removed plaster stains and brushed down my pool! Their monthly maintenance fee is $150 a month! * Instead of bringing my Polaris into Leslies Pool Retail 4 times a year, Robert found it was more to do with the pressure in the pool and corrected the issue. * I was so unhappy with my original pool remodeler that had re-surfaced my pool. I now have a 3rd rebar patch that is eating thru, since the re-plaster! It looks like a pool fire! I had started to interview more remodelers to correct the issue at a big price point. No need. Robert took care of the issue on his first visit. * My main concern was coming home and seeing white powder at the bottom of the pool. I thought the filter was spitting out DE. It was from the weekly chemical service I was using for the pool. They would leave clumps of Shock at the bottom of the pool producing excessive chlorine in the pool. This leads to the plaster eroding. * Windy River Pools have now converted my pool to a mineral pool (a little over $300). The pool uses very few chemicals, I did not need any additional equipment and you should see how clear the water is! Plus it is much more healthy to swim in. What an amazing change! * I always know when they have serviced my pool and what had been done to it with the following report below. Windy River Pool Company is in a class all to its own - like no other! And it is so much easier on the pool owner to have one contact to address all concerns.. at such a reasonable cost. To know my pool is consistently being cared for and any issues, like rebar coming thru, is addressed immediately is such a relief! A few years after I moved here from California, I ended up selling my first home because I was yearning the Pacific Ocean. So I had to buy a home with a pool to look out at. Now look at it!
