Not even sure where to begin....was recommended by a friend of Lisa's so I wasn't sure what exactly to expect. For what it's worth; I am blown away! Lisa did a fabulous job on our tour! Best wine tasting tour I've been on. She was well prepared for us and chose three wonderful wineries for us. All we had to do was select wine we like to drink, and she knew which wineries would best fit our palette. She was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of great information about different wines, the history of wines, and the city. She had lunch for us which was a great touch. She was able to pick us up and drop us off at our hotel so we didn't need to worry about driving. All in all an amazing experience and would highly recommend Lisa and Explore Wines Tour. read more

The other reviews are on point! What I would love to add is that if you are a ventura county resident, and are looking for a great local tour, this is the one to go on. We toured 3 wineries right here in town that we didn't even know existed (2 in old town Oxnard and 1 in downtown Ventura)! The bang for your buck is excellent due to the fact that Lisa is a Sommelier and her relationships with the wineries are great. The personal lunch was an excellent touch as well with just the right amount of tasty treats to prevent a food coma but allowing you to keep wine tastig. What makes her wine knowledge and history stand out is the comprehensive and down to earth manner in which she shares it. My family and I were staying at the Ojai Valley Inn and decided to go wine tasting. The concierge at the hotel recommended that we use this company and we were really happy we did. Lisa picked us up at our hotel and got a feel for what our group was most interested in doing. From there she planned the perfect day for us and made sure to share her knowledge all along the way. We went to four unique wineries and an ostrich farm. Lunch was included on our tour and the tour van she took us around in was very nice. We really enjoyed Lisa's company and had lots on fun chatting with her on drive. She did not rush us and we were not on a strict time frame. We were able to take as much time as we wanted at each winery which made the day that much more enjoyable. Lisa also pointed out spots where the sideways movie was made and gave us some fun facts about the movie. If you are looking to take a private tour in this area Lisa is the perfect choice. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Lisa touring wineries near Santa Barbara. Although many tour companies doe not pick up in Ojai for such tours, Lisa was happy to do so. She was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and also had an incredible rapport with the four winemakers we met. As somewhat experienced wine drinkers, we were looking for a tailored experience of wineries "off the beaten trail" and Lisa delivered big time. We would highly recommend Explore Wines to anyone! We had an amazing time with Lisa in the Santa Ynez valley! We started out with a fantastic wine tasting tutorial at a wine club & vineyard, and then visited three great wineries that produced wines according to the preferences of our group. My companions and I were all wine novices and although Lisa is an accomplished sommelier she never made us feel like we were asking stupid questions. This was the first time my husband or I had ever been on a guided wine tour and Lisa far exceeded our expectations.
