This is a huge shop with so much of good stuff . But a little expensive and Generally doesn't suit my budget . I buy very few stuff from here but it really looks good on you. Blazers, sweaters etc . I am writing this communication to express my complete displeasure with Express stores. I have actually never shopped there and now know why. I received a Father's Day gift of a shirt from Express. The shirt is nowhere near my size and since I work, today (Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at approximately 1PM) was the first day that I could deal with the issue of returning the shirt. I went to my local Express store, which is located in the Lake Success, NY strip mall @ 1526A Union Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040. I do confess that I did not nor was ever given a receipt, however, there are tags on the shirt that clearly mark the shirt as being an item from Express Stores. I politely went to the counter, was told the shirt that was purchased for me and that it was the wrong size. The cashier suggested I look for something of more of equal value ($19.99 USC). I did and found nothing in my size. Five minutes later, I approached the same cashier and asked for a store credit. I was told by the Assistant Store Manager Theresa that without a receipt, I would not be able to receive store credit and that maybe my best course of action was to search other Express stores to see if I could find merchandise that I was interested in and sized correctly for me. I did not find this a suitable suggestion so I was directed to the store manager, Roxy who parroted everything that Theresa said, that it was store policy that without a receipt they could not issue store credit. They suggested that I call the person that purchased the item for me, in this case, a family member and see if he still retained the receipt. I said that I did not want to insult that family member nor did I really want him to know that I was exchanging the item. I then asked if this strict adherence to store policy (nowhere written or posted, I might add) was enforced all year round, including Christmas returns. Roxy didn't like this question very much and told me that there was "absolutely nothing she could do, that "it is what it is." I requested the address for the corporate office of Express and was given the customer service number of 1-888-397-1980. I departed the store in disgust. I find it curious that the supposed corporate policy of Express is that store credit can only be issued with a receipt, even if it is a gift. With a store credit, where else could I possibly shop but Express to utilize it? What my intention was , that if I could not find anything in the store, was to use the store credit of a whopping $19.99 and purchase two shirts (I saw a deal of buy one at $39.99 get a second shirt for $19.99) at the online Express website. I do not have a degree in economics but my assumption is that, if I was issued the store credit, Express would have been $40 richer. However, this strict adherence to corporate policy will now make me use the shirt that I cannot wear as a rag. I find it compelling that scouring the internet, I could not find email addresses for any member of the corporate board of Express stores. This is a clear sign of the lack of transparency of the organization and the disregard and contempt of the customer as an integral part of the corporation. Lastly, as a college professor with a fairly considerable span of influence, I will urge anyone I know, students and family members alike, to NOT shop at Express but use Amazon. Com for purchases. At least, there I know, they would real receive great customer service. I have learned a valuable lesson today. Always trust my instincts. I sensed chicanery within this organization and never set foot in an Express store. Now I know why. Thank you for the terrible customer service and lackluster product. Express is usually my go to place for shopping but man this place is the worst place to shop! The employees are horrible they literally harass you and are on top of you every time you enter. They hate touching or trying on any of the clothes because it makes them actually work like wtf!! also making a retune is like a trip to hell they don't want anything back once it's sold like seriously? And also they hate using coupons. I had to complain about this store to the head quarters one time regarding a return. In all I rather go far and drive just to avoid this express! read more

Normally I shop in the bayside store or Roosevelt field but since this is now a factory outlet I decided to check it out. I walked in a little before 11am and I was the only customer . I was not greeted by any of the three or four employees who were huddled by the cashier counter . I walked around for close to 5 minutes and still no one asked if I needed help . I went into the store a few weeks ago to exchange a coat. The first person I spoke to was the manager and for some weird reason she was rude. I just wanted some guidance/assistance regarding the store policy for exchange. I will not be returning to this establishment/location and its a shame since it is a short drive from my place. This would be the second time in the last 3 months that she's been in some sort of mood. The store need to improved their customer service when it comes to their managers. read more

Easily the worst Express I've been to, which is a shame because it's so convenient to my house. The employees do not ask you if you need help finding anything, and act as if you are in their way simply by being in the store. After shopping there, I always have to return to the store because of errors by the workers. On one occasion, they did not give me back my card (and were very unhelpful when I called about it) and most recently, they overcharged me by not giving me the Express Next member discount, so I will be going back to be refunded. Express corporate should do overhaul on the employees here, as it has been the same unhelpful, rude staff at this location for at least a year now. read more

Wide variety of merchandise, store is well laid out and very organized. I can't say much about service as Noone offered to help me. I did a return for something I previously purchased and the associate that helped me inspected it as if it was a million dollar outfit and gave me a hard time about taking it back even though it was clearly unworn all tags and dress tag fully attached. I just didn't want it because I bought the same thing in 2 sizes to try on at home. This location is close to my home and has various other stores nearby which makes it convenient for shopping without the hassle of going to the crowded mall. read more

Express: Ever since the beginning of high school, I've been quite fond of you. Your sweaters and vests integrated a bit of color and personality into my somewhat drab school uniforms. Now, as a cash strapped young-adult with limited automobility and a lot of gluttonous expenses, you ring out as a clear victor of my style. You have jeans that don't cut off my blood circulation from the waist down, or make me look like im in a rap video. You have sweaters that get me compliments, and best of all, you're right in the neighborhood. You're also the only one in the neighborhood. You're a little small in Men's offerings, but you've gotten better, and I love "shopping the box" even though all my sizes are gone before I get there. read more

Express a Great Company!! But this store is the worst Express in Queens or Long Island. The girls who work here are the rudest and most obnoxious people on this planet. They will stand over you and watch your every move invade your personal space to the point where when you ask them to take a step back because your uncomfortable they will not comply.(Criminal btw) I would give it 0 stars if possible. They will stay on top of you until the point where you stop touching the clothes because that is what they want. They can not stand when a customer touches a piece of clothing because they have to fix it. My reaction: Are you kidding me who chose to work retail me or you? The supervisor on duty had the biggest attitude in the world completely disrespected me to my face made rude and arrogant facial expressions, thought she was better then the entire world. I don't know why didn't see a thing special about her. She even went on her radio in front of my face commanding one of her employees (or slaves) in a threatening and obscene tone to immediately check fitting room number two after my girl friend used it because she thought we might of left a mess. (Isn't that also there job to clean up) Little did she know the girl (slave) radioed her back saying they did not leave anything there they put it back on the rack. She seemed kind of bummed that she didn't catch anyone committing a major crime lmao and was like "Okay, you sure?" lmao Did she really think the girl was not even capable of determining if there was clothes in a room or not sheesh!!!! She then followed me foot step by footstep around the store in hopes that i would by accidentally touch one of her pieces of clothes and she can rudely mouth off and re-fold the piece of clothing right after I touch it. This was the theme in this store seemed like the employees wanted some kind of quarantine around the clothing lol. The store is severely over staffed which is part of the problem making the employees have nothing to do but police the nuclear weapons aka clothing lmao. Overall the worst retail store I have ever been into my entire life. The employees here almost all have attitudes that are just not acceptable. It might suck working retail but hey its your job and if it sucks than try another industry but certainly don't harass me you will never get away with it. Overall I hope this store goes out of business because it seems like none of the employees want any customers to be in there anyway. Watch out for this one, stay clear of entering the front door. This store is big and they have a long variety! Yes the clothes are pricey but they are worth it because of the material. Girls that work at the register RUDE AND AWFUL, they think they are the big hot mamas in there and they do not even say hi to you, always on their phones texting and they make a lot of mistakes. read more

Store is very small, about half size of most express store. Very limited selection on men's clothing. I went to try on a skirt , and I asked the sales person works in fitting room area for another size to try. She came back told me they don't have that size anymore. So I said it's fine. I went to put the shorts back and saw the size I asked for was right on the table and the store is small so don't tell me she doesn't know where they are. Obviously she didn't even bother look for my size for me just told me they don't have anymore. read more

This is a very clean, very well organized Express store location. It is in a strip mall in Lake Success (border Queens/Long Island? not sure - just ventured out!). I had an issue with surpassing the days allowed for returning items (ordered online and then tried returning to the store) and the store manager was more than accomodating take extra time to ring up the returns one by one. I had about ten things. Very helpful staff and just comfortably laid out format. I would visit this strip mall again if for Express alone. read more

Horrible. The store was quite disorganized. The cash registers were extremely slow, and I waited approximately thirty minutes. When I got on the counter, the shirts that I chose were not on sale even though they were placed on the sale tables. My cousin and sister got the same shirts at the discounted price. This is store so horrible. I came to store to make adjustment and manager gave me bad time to do one adjustment. I had coupon on my iPhone I ask can you use my iPhone manager told me our policy say that we are not accepting any coupons Customer service are so rude and manager as well. I would stay away from this store. I think manager in this store are rude and crazy and she can not work with people and customer. Manager need to learn to to talk with people. I think manager has mentally problem and she can not work with customer. I went different store to make adjustment and they did to me without any issue. Manager store does not know how to communicate with customer and resolve any issue. Policy in this store location does not say that we can not use any iPhone device.
