My husband and I stopped by Express Gyro in Lincoln for a late lunch. You order at the counter and they brought our food to us. I ordered the chicken plate, which came with chicken topped with tzatziki, rice, garlic hummus, and warm pita bread. My husband got the chicken loaded fries, and both meals were absolutely delicious -- and the portions are generous! The inside is clean and inviting, with plenty of seating options, plus a nice outdoor seating area if you want to enjoy your meal outside. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful, and our food came out quickly. We'll definitely be coming back!

6/16/2023: I posted my Express Gyro receipt; I had no choice but, ordering an inhaling session of a beef and lamb combination plate, one order of two garlic Hummus, and one mango Lassi to-go due to the fact, I had to have my Toyota 4-Runner's brand new tires' realigned and re-balanced-AGAIN--AUGH. Welp~That's the main reason for being so far away from my humble abode; there wasn't a Firestone Auto Care appointment available in Sacramento: Therefore, I might as well inhale a beef and lamb combination plate, one order of two garlic Hummus, and one mango Lassi while waiting for my Toyota 4-Runner's tires brand new tires' realigned and re-balanced. It was rather amusing inhaling my exotic cuisine meal at Firestone's waiting room; customers were literally staring at me while I was in the midst of my inhaling session, i.e., devouring every morsel on the to-go box~lol . . . I WAS FAMISHED. Still, my only complaint was the food wasn't piping hot--just lukewarm. The to-go meal shouldn't have been lukewarm especially, when Express Gyro is literally one-quarter of a block AWAY from Firestone, i.e., the reason for deducting one-star from Express Gyro's review.

This is the best Mediterranean food that I have ever had. I highly recommend coming here to eat the staff is very friendly and welcoming and this place is extremely clean inside. Great place to come I wish I didn't live so far from here but I will definitely be back!!!!!!

Well as soon as I started to eat my gyro , I found some pubic hair attached to the meat. Greek fries are ok. The people are very friendly. Service is so good they give you surprises. As for Ambiance they need to play some bad bunny.

I had an itch for something different, she 9n a very warm summer day Greek food seemed like a mighty good choice. I ordered online for pickup and it was ever so easy. Just go to the restaurant web site and the menu with photos is there, and simple to navigate. The order consisted of two meat plates of beef and lamb, with a choice of sides. I opted for the spicy cilantro hummus. The plate comes with a small salad, rice, and half a pita bread. To compliment the order I also got the Greek salad, an order of Greek fries and two orders of falafel (4 per orde). Everything was ready and packaged well for travel when I arrived... OK, an insignificant short wait, but the owners are very nice and personable, and appreciate the business. Overall, the portions are quite generous and the food is very good, hearty and tasty. The fries were very good the meat fresh and delicious, rice was fluffy and salad fresh as well. It isn't high end Greek cuisine, but quite satisfying simple Greek dishes, taverna style. I will gladly return and try more.

Ordered a beef and lamb gyro from this place. It was slightly overpriced being $12. Regardless, i got it pretty quickly. There was a lot more meat than i expected, which was fantastic, no complaints. What i didn't quite like was that everything was smothered in sauce. It was tooo much sauce. But it tasted ok.

Excellent addition to the area! Fresh food served quickly and at a great price point. Dolmas were delicious as were the chicken and rice plate. I highly recommend their classic hummus. Can't wait to go back and try their gyro. read more

I'm trying to be optimistic about this place but I'm a little angry right now. I ordered lunch, a lamb gyro and dinner, a chicken greek salad. The only way to order the salad is to choose a Greek salad and add your protein at an additional charge, which is reasonable, as long as they actually put the meat on the salad which, they didn't. My favorite food is Greek so, the lamb/steak gyro is not as flavorful as most but it's passable. The salad didn't come with any sides, such as pita bread, I did order some but clearly the gyro is lacking on pizazz and of course my chicken is just lacking! I just moved and have been relying heavily on delivery and frankly I'm tired of the mistakes made by the restaurants! Its been quite a few! I was compensated by doordash for this mistake but I'm so tired of the lack of concern that I've been receiving from these restaurants I've decided it's time to post about it. I'm also going to be better about posting good reviews. Maybe it will help. read more

For years I have been searching for an authentic gyro and I have finally found one! Truly was one of the best meals of my life. The pita bread was fresh, all the vegetables were high quality/ super fresh, and the meat was perfectly seasoned. I will be coming back at least once a month because the food was amazing and the service was incredible. Can not recommend this restaurant enough! read more

Went in to grab some lunch for the family, hubby got the beef n lamb gyro he loved it they very generous with portions of meats,I got my usual chicken loaded Greek salad and the kids both got chicken nuggets n fries and a side of cilantro hummus. The food was very tasty, big portions, love the sauces. Been here a few times, and the staff is always very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended read more

Best Greek tea and the I personally love the Lamb/beef meat over other like restaurants in the area. The staff is awesome and have returned for the 4th time. My only negative comment is that I don't care for their hummus personally as the texture seems off to me. We will be back! Oh and the Greek fries are amazing! read more

Saturday night, we tried Express Gyro by Rum Thai in the strip mall behind Taco Bell. 916-253-9420. Closed Sundays. I had the Beef & Lamb plate with basil hummus & rice $9.95 & my husband had a gyro. Been waiting for this place to open there isn't really any good gyro places around the area and this place is a new go to lunch. Saed the owner takes care of everyone that comes in and is always talking to his customers. Beef and lamb wrap with loaded fries are the go to order. read more

Me and a friend came here to try it out and I was pleasantly surprised. There was excellent customer service and my food came out really quickly. Finally!! Good Greek in Lincoln The Lamb and Beef Gyro was excellent. Fresh pita with plenty of tzatziki sauce. The meat was flavorful and moist; Fries hot and crispy. Reasonably priced with a Gyros meal costing around $12. Jann, (pronounced John), the owner is from Greece and runs this family business. I need to go back to try the Greek salad and falafel, but I did sample the baba ganoush which was mildly spicy with a smoky hint. This corner in Lincoln is now rounded out with great Mexican, Thai and now Mediterranean. read more

Tried Express Gyro last year. Was excited to try this place. I ordered the chicken gyro, it was small for the price that I paid. The pita bread was cold/dry and the chicken tasted like rubber that was microwaved, barely had flavor. Customer service was okay, the cashier didn't greet me. Wasn't convinced to ever go back since then. read more

Not much of a selection . And the Dolmas are plain. Usually have a lot more ingredients in them but did not . I don't think it is authentic Greek food as I traveled to Greece in the past , and this didn't taste like it but store bought instead of homemade read more

it's so nice to finally be able to get a decent gyro in lincoln! i got the beef / lamb gyro and it was good, everything tasted very fresh and light, as a good gyro should be. i opted for the combo and was asked if i wanted regular or "greek" fries. GET THE GREEK FRIES!! hot and crispy fries topped off with a greek yogurt sauce topped with spices and feta cheese, absolutely delicious!! the portions are very generous and the service was friendly and quick, the girl who made my food even brought it out to my table for me. definitely coming back again! read more

Spent the day doing yard work so I had my son pick up Express Gyro for a late lunch. I'd never had it but I wanted something quick but not junk food. Excellent choice! I'm normally not a huge fan of takeout but I'd totally order from them again. The food was so fresh and delicious! The classic hummus and the spicy cilantro hummus were fabulous. We also ordered the beef and lamb gyro's which were excellent. I added a salad to the meal and my son added Greek fries. Salad was excellent and my son loved the fries. I feel very fortunate to have this high quality of food available to go right here in Lincoln. Thanks so much for a perfect meal! read more

Been a few times. The lamb and beef gyro's are very solid. You won't be disappointed. I didn't care for the chicken shawarma though. Seems like it was under seasoned or not seasoned long enough. Too bland for my taste. Knocking off a star because of that and because I didn't get my starter (which they offered for free to be fair to them), and because on their menu it says fries are 90 cents if you get them with a gyro but looking at my receipt I got charged the full $2.95. They are really nice and i'm sure would have corrected it had I noticed but that's such a restaurant pet peeve of mine I had to mention. read more

I had the chicken shawarma plate which was incredible and my son in law had the lamb kabobs which he really enjoyed. Our waiters were very prompt clearing our dishes bringing boxes along with complimentary baklava that was very tasty and the perfect end to a great meal! Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.

I started with the chicken sandwich and it was fantastic: a fried chicken breast nestled between brioche buns with pickles and just the right amount of sauce. Very good if that's your thing (and it's definitely mine). Dipped it in the habanero ranch... aces. The next day I heated up the parmigiana "burrito" following the reheating instructions printed on the bag (which I loved, by the way). One suggestion if you're doing the same: cut it in half first. Like Hot Pockets back in the day, cutting it would help with heat distribution, otherwise it heats unevenly. Lots of meat in this dish, and the breading on the outside was totally delicious. The salad was good too, although I might try a different side next time.

Whenever I'm near either location I make a point to stop by to enjoy a meal or pick up take out to enjoy at home. While a fresh bowl of ramen in the restaurant is always the best experience, their take-out options are packed well and reheat nicely. I'll often warm up ramen the day after I pick it up and it's such a nice treat to have at home. The Lincoln location has plenty of parking and once you're inside you head up to the kiosks to order for dine in or carry out. Definitely take a look through the menu, they have a variety of ramen options, including soupless ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers. They also have a variety of drinks, and I noticed on my recent visit that this Lincoln location has alcoholic options. My favorite order is their spicy tonkatsu ramen- the broth is so rich, there's a perfect amount of spice, and it hits every mark for me. Honestly, I didn't truly appreciate good ramen until I tried Umami Ramen and now this is the standard that I judge all other ramens by. We also typically order their karaage chicken and I pick up and onigiri or two (the tuna is my favorite). Everything on the menu is great though and I'd recommend trying anything that sounds yummy at the moment. There is plenty of seating and I love that the restaurant is decorated with plenty of fun posters, art, and even figurines to look at. They also have a shopping area for Japanese snacks, toys, drinks, desserts and a claw machine. A pro tip is to check out their specials- when I visited they had a $25 special for a small appetizer, ramen, and drink. It was a great deal! They also have the option to adjust your ramen by leaving off certain items or ordering extras- I usually get extra bamboo shoots for $2 (it's a generous portion of them) and their eggs are AMAZING- if you're a fan it's definitely worth ordering an extra. The staff here is also so kind, if you're having trouble deciding they're happy to help and can ring you up if your prefer ordering with them. They also always make sure I have water when I dine in and pack my to-go orders with such care. I highly recommend both of Umami Ramen's locations and hope they open a third closer to me so I can go all the time. For now, I'm happy to travel though!

The broth here is rich, bold, and packed with flavor...some might find it intense, but for me it's a total chef's kiss. You can choose thick or thin noodles, and I always go for the thick ones because I love that extra bounce. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen because garlic is one of my love languages. My husband went for the Spicy Tonkotsu and was sweating bullets by the end of the meal, but he still cleaned his bowl! The chashu pork was a little dry on this visit, but the broth, noodles, and all the toppings still made for a delicious and satisfying meal. Bonus: They're currently offering FREE gyoza with every ramen order! If you're looking for a hearty, flavorful bowl of ramen, check them out. Just don't question my decision to eat hot soup during a heat wave.

It's in a busy plaza, but there's plenty of parking available. Inside is decorated nicely and has plenty of seating, and I was greeted right away. I ordered take out at the counter and while I was there they were offering lunch portions in addition to their regular portions. I ended up ordering Thai Tea, Tom Kha Soup, Green Curry (lunch portion) and Pad Eggplant (full order) along with rice to go with the Pad Eggplant. The lunch portions are a bit smaller, but come with rice, while the regular portions are larger and a bit more expensive and rice is extra. I took a seat and waited for my order. They brought my Thai tea out right away and I sipped on it while I waited. The tea was tasty and had good flavor without being overly sweet. As I waited there were a bunch of people stopping in to pick up take-out orders. It didn't take too long to receive my order and it was well packed- in fact, since I ordered my Tom Kha soup with tofu and chicken they even had an extra small container so the full portion, with add ons would fit. I thought this was very considerate. All the food was still hot once I returned home and it was packed very securely. My favorite was the Pad Eggplant, on the menu it's listed as choice of: Chicken, Pork, Beef, Tofu, Mixed Vegetables, Shrimp, or Calamari | Stir-fried eggplant, bell peppers, carrots, onions, green onions, sweet basil, and your choice of protein sautéed in Grandma's special sauce. The Grandma's special sauce is the reason I ordered it and it was delicious. The veggies were fresh, the sauce was flavorful, and I ordered mine with pork and it was great. The green curry was good, but didn't blow me away- this is something I typically order at Thai restaurants and the curry had a very soupy consistency that was thinner. The veggies were fresh and delicious, and didn't soak in the curry flavor, they held their own fresh veggie flavor. I prefer my curries thicker, but it was still tasty. The Tom Kha soup was also good, but again thinner than my favorite spots and lighter in flavor. I also noticed they had slices of ginger in the soup which leant to flavor but between picking out the ginger and bay leaves there was more pieces that could have been removed by the restaurant instead of serving them. I would go back to try more items from the menu, and would definitely get the Pad Eggplant again.
