Randomly found this spot and so glad we did! Food was amazing and everything was made fresh. The hummus was smooth and garlicky. The mix combo plate was delicious with great tasting lamb and well seasoned chicken. The garlic sauce was awesome and we wish we had more of it. And the Afghani wrap was stuffed with fries, lamb, and pickled vegetables, so good! Great place and will definitely be a place we frequent from now on! read more

I've been here 3 times now and the food is always top notch. Everything is fresh and very delicious. No matter if you are getting chicken or beef kabobs, lamb over rice, eggplant, or even fries. Everything is always very good. Customer service is also amazing. I spoke with the owner tonight as they were out of eggplant and he made sure I was happy with a choice of substitution. He also gave me some of the babaghanoush to try since I love the eggplant dish. Everything is well seasoned and delicious. It's also a cute place inside. They've decorated nicely. I came here after a Sunday noon swim workout craving middle eastern food. The place is located in a small strip mall across from Folsom town hall. When I heard they are an Afghani restaurant I was excited because I love the flavor and seasoning of Afghani food. I got the Combo Kabob with lamb and chicken. They were perfectly prepared and tender and complimented well with the fresh salad, humus and side sauces. I also loved the baklava which was small sized but very moist and satisfying. The server was very friendly and explained they are constructing an oven to prepare their bread in the future. I will return soon! read more

This has become one of my lunchtime go-tos. Really excellent fresh tasting food made with care. I love their wraps with grilled meat or falafel and their tasty sauces which you can get in mild, medium or spicy. Wraps are made with thin lavash flatbread, which is hard to find around here. The lavash tastes fresh and the wrap is given a nice grilling before it is served. Their Afghani wrap has french fries in it too, which is a great complement to the meat, sauce and veggies. read more

I got the combo dish to go and ended up being too hungry so decided to eat it there! The grilled chicken was really good and the lamb kabob as well. I asked for the garlic sauce which was to die for and the hot house they make In house is also delish. Everything is fresh and the hummus that comes with the plate is good as well. I didn't care for the bread but overall everything else was really good. read more

I serendipitously came across this restaurant by chance. I ordered the combo kabob dinner and it was so delicious!! Definitely a 5 star food offering. The humus was fresh, the rice and salad was perfect. The lamb was super tender and the chicken was juicy. It's my understanding that the restaurant has only been open for a year and was previously a food truck. Service was also great. Regarding, the ambiance, the restaurant is going through some remodeling and I'm looking forward to seeing the result of this transition. Thank you. read more

We love the lamb wrap with the delicate bread, lamb that is so tender and the most delicious veggies & sauce. The lamb kabob is another favorite. The hummus, tatziki & garlic sauces are soooo good. The rice has a warm spice that easily classifies it as comfort food. They are remodeling & updating the space each time we visit & the food is great! This is by far one of the best mediterranean food I have ever tried in California. I would highly suggest anyone who is in town coming here. The service was excellent and they were very polite. We were greeted with friendly customer service. This was the best Halal we have ever had. Ordered the chicken kabob plate, with a side of eggplant. Quality cuts of meat chicken was seasoned properly and not over or undercooked. It was a reasonable price for a large portion. The eggplant was also amazing! Taziki sauce was full of flavor. All of the 5 Star Reviews are here for a reason!!!. The Lamb wrap is beyond good!. This is the best of that type of food in the whole area. It is right across the street from City Hall in Folsom, so it is easy to find. You really cannot go wrong if you have a hankering for donor kebab or similar type of food. The wrap is crunchy and the tzatziki sauce is great. It looks like they do a huge takeout business. You really cannot go wrong with this place. Support excellent food! Patronize it. read more

I get gas at the station just across the street where this spot is. After reading Yelp reviews we were not walking, but running there! It was a quiet week day evening; we were quickly helped. Owner did let us know it would be about 15-20 minutes because of the kabob and everything is made to order. We definitely don't mind time for quality! When he brought out the plate, I swear we might've both drooled a bit just from the aroma. The flavors of the meat, rice, hummus, fresh salad + light olive/vinegar oil dressing was just such a lovely taste bud experience! So delicious! Loved the food so much here, the afghan wrap was the best i've had, both chicken and beef are delicious. the plate was also really good, hummus was fresh, rice was yummy, and chicken was cooked to perfection, and lamb had no bad smell like some restaurants do. Service was also bit slow (came with 9 people so had large order) but still the owner was nice and service was very good, he came and asked multiple times if he could get us anything. Store is tucked away from central folsom, near the library. I'm very confident it would be a very popular spot if more people knew about this place! read more

The best halal I tasted in Sacramento. Maybe it's the combination of everything they put in the plate or every single dish just tastes so fresh & perfectly cooked. This restaurant had great Google reviews and the Few Yelp reviews were also wonderful even though there were not a lot. We decided to give it a shot because it looked so good. We made the right decision. We were greeted and when we placed our order informed it would take a little bit to grill our items, which we did not mind. Every bite was delicious. The rice by itself was even flavored perfectly. I'm very glad I got the combo because while the lamb of course did not disappoint, the chicken was so tender and delicious also. The sauces, hummus and even the vinaigrette on the salad was delicious. More people need to go give this restaurant a try because they will be back. read more

This place is a total sleeper. Right across from the Folsom police station in a strip mall. Very simply decorated but clean and well organized. I've only been greeted and helped by the owner. The chicken and koobideh shawarmas are absolutely fantastic. My one kid loves the kids chicken plate. The other loves the falafel. The prices are very reasonable and each item is made to order. Sort of a hole in the wall in a shopping center with deferred maintainence. I've tried their chicken wrap and lamb kebab and the lamb was some of the best I've ever had. Not gamey at all probably some type of Dorper. The chicken for me was not good and seemed like it had been cooked before and then microwaved for when I ordered. I would reccomend ordering the lamb kebab. The guy at the register is always very gracious. The place is never crowded, it looks like they could do with half their current space. Give this restaurant some business so it stays in business! read more

I will admit, I was super sad when I pulled into the parking lot to realize my beloved Angels kitchen was now halal grill. I figured since I had driven 30 minutes for my favorite Mexican dish, I might as well stay and try Halal. Well, I am glad that I did! The owner is the sweetest and gave me some pointers and let me taste some sauces since my Husband can be quite picky when it comes to spice. The chicken is so tender and juicy!! Like literally the best chicken I've ever had. The hummus is very creamy and I swear I could drink it! It is in a small shopping center and doesn't get as get the attention it deserves. And before coming here, I could never have imagined that what I would see and hear would truly amaze and delight me. This feeling came within the very first moments of entering the restaurant, where lively music was playing and the famous song "Uchkuduk" performed by the band "Yalla" was playing. Along with this, there was a large artistic wall panel on the right, beautifully painted, illustrating a caravan of camels traveling through a hot desert. On the left side, there was another artwork--a fresco depicting the entrance to a caravanserai, once a resting place for traders along the Great Silk Road in ancient Samarkand, a major trading hub of its time. What impressed me most was the central part of the hall's wall, where dozens of exquisite decorative items were neatly arranged--examples of Uzbekistan's national art, craftsmanship, and traditional design. These beautifully reflect our culture and heritage, known around the world. The elegant furniture, the uniquely designed ceiling, and, of course, the glossy, mirror-like epoxy floor all perfectly complement this incredible beauty. Honestly, one feels like saying that this is not a restaurant, but a museum, where for a moment I truly felt as if I were back home in Tashkent--so cozy, familiar, and close to the heart. Now, moving on to the main impressions of our visit, especially the genuine delight of our American friends with the unique and delicious dishes we ordered. Of course, there was the famous Uzbek plov, three types of juicy kebabs, salads, samsa, manty, and two kinds of tea. After the meal, fully enjoying the outstanding flavors, our guests sincerely admitted that they had never experienced anything like this anywhere before, and promised that this restaurant would become one of their favorite places to return to again and again with friends and family. The meat platter for two was awesome and came out flaming literally. It had 2 beef kabob, 2 chicken kabob, and 2 lamb chops. My favorite was the chicken for how juicy it was. The beef and lamb tasted a bit drier and very cumin heavy but overall delicious. We finished off with honey cake and tea. I loved the cake-- layered with a light creme and naturally sweetened by the honey. It paired well with their strong and fragrant black tea.
