Having recently moved from Chicago 6 weeks ago, I have been trying to navigate the issues with many businesses being closed- for example, until last week I couldn't even sniff an appointment at the GA DDS in Norcross in order to get a Real ID GA License. I now have a beautiful 8.5" X 11" piece of paper that is supposed to pass as a temporary license until the real one arrives in the mail...we shall see. Anyway, next on my list is registering my vehicle from IL to the state of GA. Predictably, I needed to get an emissions test done besides the other items on the checklist. I showed up here on a Monday morning and there was no line here. They took me in, set up my car, and within ten minutes I was out the door! This car happens to be headed North later this summer when my nephew turns 16, so he can have something to learn how to drive on, and also be able to drive him and his sister around so my brother and his wife don't have to. The point is, I asked a million questions of the technicians about getting my car serviced with an oil change and a quote on a possible brake job before I do give the car away. I'm one of those idiots that used to take his car to the dealership to get all service done. It looks like that's going to change. A reasonable price quote, and fast, professional service. You can't expect to get anything better these days. That's what you want. No muss, no fuss. I'll be back in a month or two to get the work done. I went in for an oil change just a few hours before leaving for a big trip. First off, it definitely wasn't "quick" -- I was there for over 30 minutes. Then, when I got home and started to leave, I found a huge puddle of oil in my driveway, After noticing the leak, I pulled the oil filter and found it completely dry. Now I'm missing my trip because I can't reach anyone after hours, and my hotel is non-refundable. I had my baby loaded up and everything. Although I've had good services when I visited, my hubby recently went based on my recommendation to get an oil change. He was quoted a really high price. No discoutn, promos, or nothing was offered. Once calling out the high price that he was quoted, he said that's on par if he just took his car to the dealership for an oil change. He was told it's a quicker service here though. He unfortunately left due to the high quoted price for an oil change and took his business elsewhere. Maybe prices have increased or changed since I've been here. If so, that's a bummer. They should consider doing some promos or discounts to be more competitive. read more

I called the shop and the manager ran me in circles and then said "I don't know what you think I'm supposed to do". DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I debated writing this review for the longest time. That being said, I feel like others have the right to know as well. I will never attempt to take another vehicle to this location. To start this off, I wanted to bring my wife's vehicle in for front brake pad replacements. For clarity, my wife's vehicle is a 2018 Honda CRV. Not some type of luxury car. I looked online, saw the location which was close to our house, and saw numerous positive reviews. My wife and I are new to the area after moving here for work. So I made the mistake of booking an appointment. The initial interaction was positive. I was greeted at the bay and spoke with the staff there. I had to fill out some basic paperwork as the vehicle had never been serviced at this location. During this time, I was offered a multi-point inspection, which would take place during the pad change, for $20. I felt this was reasonable and agreed. I hopped out of the vehicle and went to wait in the lobby as instructed. Here's the fun part. I've been in the lobby approximately 10-15 minutes. Enough time for the vehicle to have been taken to the back garage, placed on the lift, and the front two tires to be taken off. There were no other vehicles being worked on at the time so I was by myself in the lobby. The technician came in and said they had taken a look at everything and they needed to replace both the pads and the rotors. I grew up working on vehicles and typically do most maintenance work myself. I was also in law enforcement for 5 years and worked as an insurance adjuster inspecting vehicles after that. When I questioned why the rotors needed to be replaced, the technician began to explain that the rotors appeared to be warped due to heat. I asked if I could see the rotors myself. The technician agreed and began to escort me back to my vehicle. While on the way, the tech said that it was company policy and that unless both the rotors and the pads were replaced simultaneously, the work would not be covered under warranty. The cost of the pads alone was over $200 including the labor. The rotors and pads together were over $400!!!! Looking at my rotors, there was no obvious signs of warping. There was no pitting to the rotor indicating that the pad had rubbed through and began rubbing metal on metal. After a discussion, in which the tech assured me numerous times that the vehicle was not safe to drive, I asked that the wheels be put back on and I would be leaving. The tech then proceeded to take his sweet and precious time. He disappeared and came back about 10 to 15 minutes later saying he needed to use the restroom. My wife's vehicle was eventually lowered and the tech drove it and parked it between the two buildings. I paid the $20 charge for the, "inspection," and asked the tech if he had put the lug lock key back in the car. Of course, he had not. So hello proceeded back into the garage and managed to find it in his tool box. My wife proceeded to drive to NC the next day and drove around the beach for the next week with no issues. We had the brake pads replaced while in NC for a whopping $120. The technicians there laughed when told about the suggestion of replacing the rotors. If you've made it this far, do yourself a favor and do not take your vehicle here. I understand that upselling is part of business practice, but this felt like something entirely different. I was upcharged on ac filters, which they adamantly told me I needed. They then told me I needed a tire rotation. As I waited, AFTER my tire rotation, the mechanic came in and told me I needed new tires. This express oil change has some of the absolutely best most positive folks working here! I had an issue with my idle that I brought in on a Saturday, and within a handful of hours they had my car diagnosed and had several different options for me moving forward, which they were honest and very clear in communicating with me. This is probably the only shop I've been to where I didn't have to wait over an hour for an oil change. Thomas and the crew were super friendly and efficient with their time, and talked to me through the whole process to let me know how everything looked. Reasonably priced as well. I had a WASP HIVE under my hood, don't know how that even happens but Tom didn't hesitate to take care of it for me, completely free of charge. My tire on my Tesla was leaking actively as I needed an emergency repair or to look at it to determine what was needed to be done. As I pulled up, the gentleman said "run flat tires cannot be fixed" while walking up. My car does not have run flat tires. He agreed as he tried to confirm so he did not have to do the work. Then states my tires are too low. I told him I was a regional manager for the company that owns the company he is working for for 7 years!! I know all industry standards. Also, how do we know what is even wrong with the tire? I was not against buying a new tire if it is in a spot that is non repairable. I told him I lost 10 psi in 5 mins and he will leave me stranded on the road? He said he will not fix my tire. I know driving Tesla's in the tire industry, you cannot up sell any services and for the amount paid to repair tires, there is a lot of work involved. Tires are usually 25 to repair, he even threw out a price of 38 dollar to me and I agreed. So I started filling out the note pad with my information just for him to tell me he will not do it again. Not even check to see what the issue is. He is the gentleman in the back shop I believe his name is Randy. Also, my entire company I currently work for brings our entire fleet there.... I went to get my oil changed and the two guys working there told me they couldn't change my oil because the oil plug was stripped and they couldn't get it out. They said that I needed a new oil pan and it would cost $500.00 dollars. I said no thanks and left. The next place I went said you need and oil change, no problem. BEWARE of this business! Got a few oil changes from them in the past and things went decently. They did try to upsell me on a few things but I simply declined. This last time they pointed out some openings in my air intake valve and said it needed to be replaced. Told me it would be $150 - I thought that sounded crazy to simply connect a short hose but I don't know anything about cars and apparently they were hoping the same. Felt like the other staff around him (he was an Asian guy that I always see there on Saturdays - maybe a manager) were kinda smirking, as well, to see if I'd simply go along w/ it and get screwed. Therefore, I decided to check Amazon and got the part for $33.79 and had it installed at a different auto shop for $20 and they did it in under 15 mins. = $54 total. I just saved $96 - basically 64% less to go elsewhere! Let's see, $120 labor for 15 mins. = $480 labor per hour they wanted to charge me. Are you kidding me? That's more than what most brain surgeons earn. I will NEVER come back to these scammers again for their $40 oil changes. This is NOT the way to do business. There are ethical auto shops out there - ya just gotta go to a couple to find them. read more

I came here for a oil change. Jeremy my Technician got me in and out in under an hour on my lunch break. Everyone here was pleasant and greeted me. I don't often think of using the word professionalism when I get my oil changed. But in this instance I think the word is very appropriate. My dashboard light was reset, canceling all those warning codes. I had my rear break light replaced. And I never got out of my car. They even took my $3 coupon off. Nice job read more

I waited 15mins to get air in my tire cuz that's what they told me and i had time because my dog was at the groomers up the street. I am accustomed to getting oil changes with another auto care company. Unfortunately this was my first and last time getting an oil change done with this company. I was pressured to get an synthetic oil change... $65 spent. Then instead of actually physically checking my car for fluids and any additional items that are on the inspection list, they just conventionally scrolled through my car dashboard for any warnings. This is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a review inside of Yelp. I say that to reinforce my dissatisfaction with the experience at the Duluth Express Oil Change off of Peachtree Industrial. I've been a number of times to get an oil change and it's always been a positive experience. However, the most recent time I was told that I need to get new front brakes ASAP (to a point they said my car was dangerous to drive), so I considered getting brakes the same day, but didn't have time. They gave me a $600 estimate. By the recommendation of my dad, I went to a trusted mechanic he's been going to for years to get another opinion and their exact words were, "Whoever told you that you need new brakes, was absolutely trying to rip you off and lied to you. You have 50% left on your front, and 60% left on the back brakes." I say all this to express my frustration and discouragement for any others to to waste their time going here to only be lied to and scammed out of money. Truly made me understand the value of finding a trusted mechanic. I will not be returning. read more

I had a power steering fluid leak and I got an estimate from another Express Oil location quoting me $272 (before tax). On my lunch break, I went to this location in Duluth to have it repaired and showed them my estimate with the issue from their sister location. Not only did the guy helping treat me like I didn't know what kind of issue I was having with my car, but he also up-charged me for the service...$386!!! Not only do I feel taken advantage of as a person, but also as a woman. I knew the problem before I went in and still was treated in this manner. Besides that, the customer service was poor. I was left in the "waiting room" for 2-2 1/2 hrs with no updates. I wasn't sure if the person working on my car was on a lunch break or fixing my PSF leak. I went in to get my oil changed and to have my ac recharged and in the process of a oil change my oil pressure sensor was broken by a employee which they made right by fixing but the Mechanic Jason brown is a crook so beware. Jason charger me for services he did not Performed. I ask another team member once what the time frame was on the job to which Jason claims he was being rushed and did not do any of the recommended checks needed to be done to service my AC. When I went back to ask him about the job not being done he got an attitude and was nasty with me and told me that he would just give me a refund and I can go somewhere else Jason then remove the refrigerant which he claimed he put in my vehicle. which he never did in the first place now leaving me with nothing in my system. I just completed my second trip here. The first service for my oil change was excellent! I returned for a rear brake pad job a few months later and was again impressed! They offered to top off the oil and I used my 10% coupon for the brake job. The service professionals were very knowledgeable and very thorough!!
