Excellent service from Jamari and Chris H. I have never been to Take 5 before, but it was such a pleasant experience to just be able to wait in my car while everything got taken care of. Both gentlemen exhibited excellent communication with me, with each other, with other staff members, and with other customers. I appreciate this as I had a dealership leave my oil cap off on a previous car before which led to smoking under the hood. The likelihood of this happening here is very low as everyone talks thru each step here if they complete part of a task in someone else's assignment. I have never seen old oil extracted before. It was interesting to watch. That part does in fact take ten minutes. The whole process for taking out the old oil, putting in new oil, and replacing two air filters I needed done took just under an hour as they were in fact short staffed. That is much better than any Pep Boys or dealership I have been to as both are usually slammed and you can expect several hours wait or two on a good day. I would prefer quality service over a rushed job any day, so this was fine by me. They even give you a nice cold water while you wait in your car. The gentlemen were so nice and very helpful, even answering questions I had about unrelated car issues with ease. And the advice worked too, so I appreciate that! Nobody tried to upcharge or upsell anything. Everybody was respectful and professional yet warm. I had a great experience. If you don't like you car at all take it here for an oil change (see second paragraph for details.) This was the biggest rip off oil change service I have been to in my life! I had a 25% off coupon and the price still came out to $103 for a synthetic oil change with the discount. They charged me extra for my filter & extra oil (they only used four quarts of oil.) There's a reason why no prices are listed until you've already pulled in and committed. I had two coupons for $50 or less for the same synthetic oil change with mechanics, but they didn't have availability today. This is pure price gouging. But hey, they give you a bottle of water that cost 25 cents to make you feel like it's worth. Go somewhere else and save $50 plus. Update- I specifically asked them if the topped off all of my fluids and they said yes. This is my coolant level below minimum. I also paid for an extra half quart of oil because my car requires 5 1/2 quarts. I watched them put only four quarts of oil in my car. Now we get to check and top off all of the fluids ourselves, including adding a quart and a half of oil. Good thing we checked this or my car could have had some major issues! read more

The customer service was genuine and excellent! I usually take my BMW to my personal mechanic for oil changes, but I needed a quicker turnaround and decided to try Take 5 after seeing their commercials. I'm so glad I did! SLOWEST SERVICE EVER!! They "say" understaffed - but this has been happening for YEARS! I went MID-DAY when most people are at work! I pulled in a 12:45pm - and my car didn't get serviced until starting at 2:00PM! I finally pulled out at 2:30PM where I WAS WAY OVER CHARGED!! I asked for the CHEAPEST OIL - and because they said "WE DONT have it" I had to pay for the MOST expensive one. Unbelievable! Then - when one guy mentioned a coupon he could give me - it took off $8. This place was the worst ten years ago, motivating me to learn to change my own oil. But on this rare occasion, I couldn't so I went in ... under new ownership. TARON (the new owner? manager?) whom I spoke with has a great business & customer-focused philosophy and is very professional & responsive. Another very good person (I didn't catch her name but she was the only "she" there) was the person who brings you in and sets you up. She was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable too about technical aspects of oil, air pressure, etc. The true gem is CHRIS the one who actually worked on my car - fast, knowledgeable, honest (no sleazy upsell like at other oil changers), thorough, helpful, friendly - and most of all patient with my annoying questions. He even personally made sure that the under-cover was reinstalled properly. This man is too good to not be the owner of his own chain of businesses. So why NOT 5 Stars? Had to wait over 20 minutes ... not because other cars were being serviced; three other oil changers yapped away in the back room. CHRIS was the only one working! (I told him I hope they pay him extra for doing all the work while those other f-offs f around and his response was "That's ok, I like to stay busy" - what an attitude!) Speaking of waiting, I felt sorry for the lady in the car in the next bay, because she came in only a few minutes after me and by the time I left, she had been waiting almost an hour. In the end though, it was worth waiting for CHRIS. Would I return? No ... unless TARON replaces his deadbeats or CHRIS is in charge of everything. read more

Despite no line in the am this oil change took 90 minutes. Staff is in no obvious hurry and more concerned about the obnoxious music blaring than servicing the car. Stopped in at the Calhoun, GA location and was met with some wonderful customer service, offered a water while I wait, and met with efficient service. These gentlemen that were there today, 8/24, were absolutely wonderful. It wasn't the cheapest option out there, but I am also a firm believer in you get what you pay for and the prices were not all that bad. New filters, and oil change, and they even topped up the air in my tires and checked my other fluids which only wound up costing $117. Overall, I highly recommend. We even had some friendly banter about music and tattoos while another mechanic was under the car. I'll definitely recommend and absolutely be back for my next oil change. read more

Excellent service here at take 5. I just moved to Georgia and was looking for a good spot for oil change. I was helped out by Joel and the crew here. They explained every process through and through. I don't think I've ever had an oil change and have them show me the dip stick after to confirm it's been changed. Their process is very structured. Honestly nothing against them but whoever is in charge of pricing is crazy. You'll save $30-$50 if you got to a Walmart or an actual shop. Plus the quality of work is going to be the same. AVOID. Came in to get my oil changed was told the filter could not be removed due to being on "too tight" was asked who serviced my car last, and it was them.. at this same location. I left, went down the road to express oil in Duluth then was told my oil drain plug was completely loose/hand loose about to fall out. Then they proceeded to do my oil change with no issue. Save yourself the risk of your car being destroyed and time by being turned away. Terrible experience, and this sucks having to write it from someone in the auto industry myself. read more

Do not take your car to this facility for any work. My daughter took her car in and was significantly overcharged for an oil change and had a, get this, cabin filter changed At 10,000 miles. She was charged $44 to change a filter that should not have ever been changed to begin with. They clearly saw a young girl coming in on her own and decided to take advantage of her. I have taken my car here for awhile and lately the service is not up to par. I was there may 12 and my oils filter was not placed in properly or r the air filter which caused my car to malfunction and had to be brought to a dealer which cost me 1200 to fix. The oil changes are the same price as a dealership so take your car to a place that knows what they are doing. I have tried calling this place as well to let them know how they messes up my car. Take 5 Oil Chiange - Extremely slow, very expensive, and job not done. I need an oil change on my car. I had a doctor's appointment at 2:00 PM. So I went to 10870 State Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022 at 12:00 PM noon, thinking that I can get a 5 or 10 minute oil change. A BIG sign reads in the front that "THEY ARE THE QUICKEST OIL CHANGE ON THE PLANET", plus "WAIT IN YOUR CAR". I have never been to Take 5 oil change before. I had a 2:00 PM doctor's appointment, so I took time off work to get this 5 or 10 minute job done. A "Take 5" employee tells me to go to garage #3 and stand behind a car that is currently undergoing an oil change. 1 hour passes, then I see the car in front of me pop its hood open. Wow!!! I get ticked off and tell the oil change people working the shop that I have a doctor's appointment. At around 1:15 PM they tell me I can drive into their shop but must stay in my car. It is this time I notice that their prices are "sky high" for any oil change. A basic synthetic oil change costs $73.99 plus a $3.99 service or junk fee tacked on, plus $8.99 for each quart of synthetic oil added. They don't specify how many quarts they include in their sky high prices. As any rate I pop the hood, wait, wait, wait, and I am parked in their oil change facility. It gets close to my doctor's appointment so "I do not stay in my car" and tell the oil change people to close my trunk, direct me out of the shop, and I am outta there. The Take 5 oil change guys claim they are understaffed. If true, then the owners "NEED TO PAY MORE TO HIRE MORE OIL CHANGERS". If TAKE 5 OIL CHANGE IS THE QUICKEST OIL CHANGE ON THE PLANET, THEN THAT PLANET IS NOT EARTH. This was my first time visiting a Take5 store, but it won't be my last. Ismael & Stephan were the techs that assisted with my oil change. They were both very courteous & professional, and made the entire experience easy & quick, which was exactly what I was looking for. Additionally, I really appreciated their objective recommendations...Offering friendly reminders & suggestions, but not to the point where I felt like I was trying to be "upsold" at every opportunity. In my experience with drive-thru oil changes, this was a first, and it was a welcome change. They both deserve recognition. The only negative about the location, is the price points were a little higher than anticipated. I will be sure to look for coupons/other offers next time I visit. read more

UPDATE: so I contacted customer service through the email provided by take 5 and guess what.. no response. What kind of establishment is this?! More like take 5 plus the better half of your day. So I'll begin with the pros of this place. The mechanics here are very hospitable and you don't need to make an appointment. Those are the only 2 positive things I have to say about this establishment. Now onto the cons. Where do I even begin. So the whole process in itself took 3 hours, let me repeat 3 hours and cost me just under $100 for a synthetic oil change and air filter replacement. In my initial trip, it took 15-20 min and I paid and left on my merry way. Unfortunately after I drove home and parked in my garage, I heard this loud scratching noise (I thought it was my dog scratching at the door) but when I looked under my car I saw this huge oil spill and as I looked up, the hood of my car was smoking. Startled, I restarted my car and pulled it out to my driveway where it continued to drip oil. I immediately called the shop back where they promptly sent a technician over to check it out. Now mind you, I have a mini cooper under 75,000 miles and it didn't have any previous problems. After 20 minutes the technician arrived. He brought litter to soak up the oil from my driveway and garage while he took a look under the hood. He was able to identify the issue- the filter cap wasn't screwed in all the way so when I drove and parked the oil spilled and splashed all under the hood of my car. The mechanic changed it out and put litter onto the oil spills to soak it up. Now this was not how I expected to spend my Monday afternoon. The litter didn't soak up too well inside my garage so I ended up spraying it down with Clorox. I got on the floor and helped wipe it down with the mechanic in order to speed up this already long dreaded process. He informed me I should head back to the shop in order for them to clean the oil splattered all under my hood. I reluctantly agreed because although I had other plans and errands I needed to do, I didn't want to risk any further potential damage from the spill. I went back to the shop and they quickly cleaned it up. I had spoke to the manager Moses and voiced my concern how I felt that I should be compensated in some way for all the trouble I went through just for an oil change. He told me he'd be able to give me 25% off my next oil change but honestly what makes you think Id want to return after the fiasco I went through? I told him I wasn't happy with that resolution so he told me he'd call his GM within the next 2 minutes and he would call me back. I even offered to contact him myself but Moses said no that wouldn't be necessary, and that he would do it. Now its been a full 24 hours and I still haven't heard back from the shop or GM. I have to say although the workers here are hospitable, the quality of work certainly doesn't match up. I would've rather gone to a shop where they weren't as friendly but performed the oil change properlyhere I didn't have to go back and forth and cause a mess in my garage/ driveway. I might add, $80 isn't a cheap oil change, please step up your game or adjust your prices to reflect your performance. I chose to go to this place because its called take 5 but the whole process in itself took longer than any oil change I've ever had. read more

I waited for over an hour and a half to get my oil changed at this location. In that time, the employees made several cars change the order they were in and didn't acknowledge drivers until it was their turn to pull into the bay. It then took three people an additional thirty minutes to change my oil. Two days later, my skid plate fell because it was incorrectly put back on. Attempt 1: Called in advance asking if service line was long, I was told all was good and system was down when I got to the store, no system, no service; ok fine. Attempt 2: next day, went to the store and there were 2 cars in service and 2 waiting, I was told it would take around 45min - this is where the issue starts, it's not truly fast as promised. Attempt 3: same day, returned at 4:30pm - 30min prior to official closing time, service was denied - 1 car was being serviced, the other lane was available. Around 4-6 employees at the store chatting, apparently not busy. I expressed my frustration and the rep starts to cut me off as I explained the issue, wouldn't let me talk and got upset as I was trying to be heard and told me to go away and not come back. Unbelievable lack of respect and dismissal by a crew of 4-6 people that found funny as the rep told me to go away. Felt humiliated as a customer. Will never be back again - will never recommend.
