While Cahaba tire may be a great spot for tires (cannot comment on that), it struggles for more complicated diagnostics. In this case, brought in the car with a set of lights blinking on the dashboard and reduced braking capacity. A simple google search or a question to AI would have immediately pinpointed even a novice to the fact that this was an issue with the brake booster, simply based on the codes. Yet, the crew here immediately jumped to diagnosis of a faulty battery with great confidence. After inquiring if it could be the brake booster (as I already searched the codes myself), they assured that it's not. Well, "mechanics know best", so I thought. Who am I to argue with them. Thus, paid for the battery, got it replaced and sure enough, all the lights came back on after half an hour of driving. Bringing the car back to them, they acknowledged the misdiagnosis, yet said they cannot fix the issue with the brake booster and it needs to be taken to a specialized shop. However, they did not offer to comp any part of the initial repair cost to replace a battery that wasn't the problem at hand, which would have been a reasonable thing to do from a customer service standpoint. In other words, owning up to their own mistakes and that they wasted a whole day for the customer. Sadly, that did not happen. While everyone was very kind and appeared genuine, the result as a customer is a wasted day without result at a mechanic shop due to overconfidence of the team here and a cost of a battery that potentially did not need to be incurred that day (which there is no way to know for certain now).

    I went to have the tires I purchased earlier in the year rotated and get an oil change. Being…read morethere already, I asked if they could replace the O2 sensor under the car that I had previously purchased. I was charged $145.00 to unscrew and replace a simple part. It is a basic task requiring no longer than five minutes. I paid the extreme amount anyway and left. A mile from the shop, the hubcap flew off and passed the car. After retrieving it from the ditch, it was plain to see that someone had busted it. Additionally, the rear hubcap is also broken. After being sufficiently fleeced by the labor cost, an additional cost of thirty-five dollars was necessary to replace the hubcaps they destroyed. I will never patronize them again, and I cannot recommend their services.

    I came in with a flat tire in my trunk and was helped by Zach and Chuck at the tire and brakes desk…read moreout back. Zach is a kind young man who got me checked in quickly and made the process easy from the start. Chuck stepped in to assist when there was a question about whether the tire could be repaired. He took the time to clearly explain why it wasn't safe to repair it again. I had only purchased the car about a month ago and had no idea there had been a previous patch. I really appreciated how thorough he was, and his patience when I asked for a few minutes to check with my son about what to do next. They didn't have a matching tire in stock, so it had to be ordered. Chuck let me know it could arrive between 1 and 5 and promised to call. I wasn't expecting to spend $267 that day, but I truly appreciate their focus on safety over shortcuts. Once the tire came in, I got the call and returned. Zach handled the installation and had me back on the road in no time. I will say, when I first arrived, Chuck came across a bit strong. But that's just his personality. He's direct and a little loud, not rude. The more I talked with him, the more I appreciated his knowledge and experience. After 10 years in the field, he clearly knows what he's doing. I'll definitely be returning to this location.

I brought in my 1973 Mustang for a simple tire balance -- factory wheels, factory‑sized tires, nothing unusual or custom. I even called ahead to confirm they could handle it, and was told they would look at the car when I arrived. When I got there, the manager told me they couldn't do the job because "his book didn't go back that far," so he didn't know the torque specs for the lug nuts. That explanation was honestly surprising. A '73 Mustang is one of the simplest cars on the road to work on, and the torque spec is extremely easy to find. It took me about ten seconds to Google it. For reference, Mustang wheels from 1964-2004 all use the same 85-105 ft‑lb torque range. What bothered me wasn't just the lack of knowledge -- it was the lack of initiative. If a shop can't look up something this basic, how can customers trust them with today's far more complex vehicles? I left without service and took my business elsewhere. I don't expect every shop to specialize in classic cars, but I do expect basic competence and a willingness to verify simple information. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.

    Purchased new battery from Walmart and with purchase they offer free installation...When arriving…read moreat the Hoover auto center I explained I had made an online appointment to have the purchased battery installed...the lady said it would take about an hour and a half...I saw 1 car in the garage area...so I leave the auto center area and shop and go to customer care center to return another item. I was called on the PA to go to the auto center...when I arrived they informed me they could not install the battery because of its location, underneath the rear seat...I asked why does the location matter and they mumbled some BS about not being trained/certified...what??? They did not install the battery...no where on their website did they say they could not install a battery because of the location. Before purchasing the battery, I watched a YouTube instructional video, looked reasonably simple and not time consuming at all...left the auto center disappointed and dissatisfied...wish I had not purchased the battery...BTW...when I got into the car and began to drive off, I noticed the front passenger window was rolled down and it would not close...before I left my car at the auto center, the window was opening and closing properly...I believe the auto center damaged the window and this is why they declined to install the new battery...The next day I installed the battery very quickly and easily...bottom line...it appears they didn't want to do the job...The personnel were not professional, courteous, or willing to try to satisfy a paying custom...I would like a refund for the battery since the customer service was horrible and unexplainable...0 star rating and I would encourage everyone to go elsewhere for their automotive needs
