Came back here for an oil change. Great customer service! They checked all my lights, cleaned my windshield, filled up my wiper fluid, and changed my oil. They also recommended some things to be done. When it came time to pay, I got a discount because it was Tuesday and ladies get a discount on Tuesdays! Woot!! read more

I had never been here before, but I needed a quick oil change and they definitely fulfilled that need. I pulled up and walked into the building. A couple employees saw me and smiled, but no one said anything. A nice gentleman, who was a customer, asked me if I was waiting on a ride. I told him I actually needed an oil change. He told me I had to pull my car up to the garage and someone would help me. I was like ohhhhhh. So, I did what he said and a guy came up to my window to help me. They asked me what type of oil I preferred and then, they got to work. I could have stayed in my car, but I went back to wait in the lobby. In about 20-25 minutes, my car was done. The guy who helped me even gave me a $5 discount when he saw my USAA card. I would come back here again. read more

Oil express at the Grove in Hoover is the best. Always kind and patient. Honest and Professional. Recently I Got caught in a rain storm and realized BOTH of my windshield wipers were flapping rubber. I pulled in Oil Express and Malek changed them out for me quickly and I was on my way to pick up grandkids on no time. They ate always helpful, fast and professional. Reasonably priced. 3 bays with one open . Changing bulbs in bay 2. They tell me to get behind the bulb change. The technician has this car in pieces and is having a terrible time figuring out how to do the work. Have been here a couple of times, mostly for a nail in the tire or an oil change. I can usually count on these guys getting me in and out with in 30 minutes depending on the issue. This trip was another nail in the tire. It was a quick and painless visit again. The cost to plug a tire at the time I came in was a little over 27 dollars, and from what I hear that is not that bad. I will continue to count on this store for all of my tire issues, and maybe next time get a quote for tires to see where they come in at. read more

I thought I had written a review but even if I did, these guys are worth a second one. I have had oil changes, brake repair, and more done by the guys at the shop on 150 and have never felt like I wasn't getting fantastic service. They just charged my wife $100 for an oil change and to patch a nail hole in a tire. The EXACT SAME service in gardendale cost me $70. The $100 was AFTER my military discount of 5% which in Gardendale has always been 10%. $100 for an oil change and plugging a tire? Seriously? I want answers. And I almost forgot that my wife told me the technician was hitting on her the whole time. Steer clear of this place. Definitely don't send your wives or daughters there. read more

These people are the most unprofessional people I ever encountered in the business world. I called to ask a simple question the response I received was it's none of your none of your business when I asked if my boyfriends car was done. They then proceeded to hang up on me. I do business with the Tire and Lube on Cahaba Circle and cannot say enough good things about them. Andy is a gentleman and is extremely accommodating. As far as their service, diligence, and efficiency, they are excellent! But I will have to take this review a step further and compliment the guys at this location as well as their manager (Don) on going above and beyond tonight in what could have been an uncomfortable situation. As I pulled up to the service bay for an oil change, a male came towards my window slightly flirty and letting me know that I wouldn't be paying for my oil change today because it was going to come out of his wallet. The Express Oil guys in the service area quickly motioned me to pull in the service bay and now I realize it was an attempt to get him away from me ... but the man followed me into the service bay and as my window was down to speak with the employees, I honestly thought this guy may have been in training and possibly worked there since he had the nerve to walk into the service area and continued to talk to me but then began asking if I was married and if he could be get my number, etc. even after my more than subtle hints that I wasn't interested but I still smiled and was as nice as I could be while declining his passes towards me thinking he would go away. I suddenly realized this guy didn't work for Express Oil when I saw the young guys weren't laughing at him trying to hit on me and one of them ran into the service buiding to get his manager Don. Literally seconds later, Don came out and basically escorted the man outside and told him he needed to leave me alone and he could wait on his car outside but that he could NOT be in there talking to me. After escorting the man outside, he came to my window and asked if I was okay. I assured him I was and told him I thought that guy may have worked there and he quickly told me "absolutely not." He and the other guys all apologized for the situation but it meant the world to me that they didn't find it funny in the least bit and treated me as if I was a sister of theirs. They all asked multiple times if I was ok and I think these guys deserve way more than a 5 star review for that! Been here 3.5 times now. 2 times for my wife's car and 1.5 for mine. Lets explain that. 2 visits with wife's car went fine. Prices and options discussed up front got what I paid for quickly and on my way. Took my SUV to get oil change, fluids topped, and air in tires. Everything went fine. Got home and realized I needed to go back to grocery store. Hadn't been home 5 min. Went into garage and saw oil everywhere. Oil, oil, oil coming out from under SUV. Drove back. Now I know your like what kind of moron would drive. I live 2 miles away so it wasn't a big deal. Apparently the oil filter was on too tight or cross threaded and my car was shooting oil all over the engine well. Also they forgot to put air in a tire so I had to have them do that again. They replaced the oil filter and proceeded to try and clean my engine well. They gave me some cleaner for my garage floor. My car dripped residue for a week on my garage floor. Ill go back for convenience sake but they didn't even offer to a free oil change. If it hadn't been for this visit I would probably have given 4-5 stars read more

We were 700 miles from home in mid-June in Birmingham for a wedding with a trashed AC compressor that had quit on our drive into town. The Express Oil personnel quickly got my van on the rack, replaced the required AC system components and got us going again when other shops couldn't get us in for several days. Picture this: You're driving down to Birmingham to meet your girlfriends to take a weekend trip to the beach. You get to Birmingham after normal business closing time (oh and on a Thursday night) and take the exit and quickly realize you have no power steering (insert scared emoji). Trouble shoot at Autozone... nothing worked. Ended up in the Walmart Parking Lot and a nice man that worked at the Mercedes service shop came over and asked if we needed help. He recommended Tire Engineers. He took my keys while we left my car in the Tire Engineers parking lot for the night and offered to drop them off first thing in the morning on his way to work. I left a note in my car with my name and number and asked them to call me in the morning. First thing at 8am that Friday morning, Dusty called me. Y'all, Dusty is amazing. He didn't know me from Adam and he refused to charge me to change out my power steering pump (charging me big bucks) and told me it was still under GM warranty. His words to my husband were, "I value your money like I do my own." This my friends is true customer service. If you are around Birmingham/Hoover and have ANY car trouble, please go see Dusty. read more

We have taken my Jeep Grand Cherokee to this location for oil changes, and although the staff is extremely nice, their work is less than satisfying. Every time we get home, we notice that oil has dripped on the driveway or in the garage by the next morning. We take it back each time and they kindly "fix" the leak and say this it is just oil that was caught in a pan and that it is a Jeep design issue. This last time we had the oil changed, we took it back three times for dripping oil and they never got it right. The manager got sassy with my wife and treated her unprofessionally and like she had no sense. They told her that the front differential had a leak and that it needed to be repaired and that was what was causing the leak. Since they were so unprofessional, my wife would not let them fix it and did not trust the news. Oddly enough, after a day we noticed that there were no more fresh drippings in the garage or on the driveway. We took the Jeep to the dealer today to have it checked and they said that there was some sloppy oil from the oil change but the differential was perfectly fine. This is quite disturbing to hear after Express Oil Change and their qualified mechanics and management staff were so blunt about this needing to be repaired or issues would definitely occur. This is the last time I will trust Express Oil Change with anything I own. Places like this should not be able to hold a business license with their faulty recommendations and money making schemes. Good luck if you venture over there, because you will probably be told you need more work completed than is actually needed. read more
