During the month he had my machine he called me 3 times to reiterate price. He does no paperwork or give any receipts. The first day i got my atv back he called twice to not forget review. I wanted to wait until i could ride it a few times to assure no issues. Well first chance i got to ride i had electrical problems i never had before. i had a fuel intake issue i never had before. before i could get 3 hours ride time my BRAND NEW belt broke. I took it apart and it was not the belt i had given him. Not even close. BEWARE OF THIS GUY HE CLAIMS TO BE 5 STAR BECAUSE HE ASKES YOU TO DO IT AT THE TIME YOU GET YOUR MACHINE BACK. On the first day, they wanted to do a compression test, which costs $645. I explained that at wide open throttle, the vehicle didn't seem to be missing any power at all, and I was certain compression was not the issue. They replied that they had checked my spark plugs and ignition coils, but they couldn't check for fuel until removing the intake... I feel like they simply chose to jump straight to the most expensive form of troubleshooting at this point. They had my car at the dealership for 3 days total and the issue ended up being a bad upstream O2 sensor, like I had guessed in the beginning! In the end, it cost me $1900 just for replace my spark plugs and one AFR/O2 sensor.. then a week later my clutch pedal has issues....

Each interaction with the people was good. They are helpful, explain what they are doing, and answer all questions. -- The service is relatively fast. -- Waiting areas are pretty clean. -- Easy to schedule an appointment online. I got one for my brakes same day. -- Decent selection of tires. The Not So Good: -- Expensive -- Expensive -- Did I say expensive? Let me qualify this. -- Tires are about 50% more than a place like Walmart or Costco where you will get a similar product with no noticeable difference and similar warranty. -- I got my brakes (all 4 wheels) done about 2 years ago at a different shop for about $800. Mavis charged me $1100 for 2 wheels! -- you can go to auto zone and get all the parts they used for about $450 vs the $670 they charged me -- Labor is a set price for working on a set part. It is NOT per hour. $416 for labor that took a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. To put this in perspective, that is the same as a junior airline captain. Bottom Line: We went to Mavis out of convenience and necessity. We will NOT be going back. Save your money and go someplace else.

Customer beware: I recently had my check engine light come…read moreon in my 2022 VW Tiguan. AutoZone ran a scan and told me it was related to the EVAP system. I then took my vehicle to Precision Tune Auto Care for a diagnosis, but instead of addressing the EVAP issue, they told me I needed new spark plugs. I agreed to the work, but before I even left their shop, the check engine light came back on. When I returned immediately, they scanned the car again and admitted the code was still for the EVAP system, not spark plugs. The manager "giggled" the gas cap, cleared the code, and sent me on my way. The next morning, the check engine light was back on. I then went to a different shop (Riddle), where they were honest and transparent. They confirmed that the issue was in fact the EVAP system, and even informed me that VW may cover the repair at no cost. When I went back to Precision Tune, they handed me the spark plugs they supposedly replaced, but could not provide any proof from their scanner that my car ever showed a spark plug-related code. This experience left me feeling that this business is not trustworthy. They charged me for unnecessary repairs and failed to fix the actual problem. Instead, I got a $10,000+ disaster. Just a month later, on February 4, my oil pressure light came on as I pulled into work. I checked the dipstick--the oil level was dangerously low. Not wanting to risk further damage, I had my car towed to the dealership, where they confirmed the shocking truth:     *    Take 5 left my drain plug loose, causing nearly all my oil to leak out.     *    The engine had already started eating itself alive--metal shavings were found in the oil pan.     *    The only fix? A full engine replacement. At this point, you'd think Take 5 would take responsibility. Nope. They did everything in their power to dodge accountability:     *    They claimed I was two days past their "warranty" period, as if that somehow excuses them from failing at the most basic part of their job.     *    They said taking it to a real mechanic voided the warranty--like I should trust lube techs over certified professionals when my engine is on life support?     *    They even tried blaming my wife, asking why she didn't notice oil pooling under the car. Seriously? It's the customer's job to double-check their incompetence? Take 5's negligence cost me an engine, and their response was to gaslight and deflect blame. This shop is an absolute joke, and I wouldn't trust them to fill my windshield washer fluid, let alone touch my engine. If you value your car, your money, and your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM TAKE 5.
