Their pricing was much more competitive than other companies we contacted for the same service. The entire crew from Express Reface, demolition, painting and installation were efficient and professional. The crew from Marble Palace were also very professional and meticulous when installing the new countertops. There was a slight communication error with the counter backsplash size but Leo from Marble Palace immediately resolved the issue to the customers satisfaction. The pre-sales service was excellent, but after we signed the contract, the customer service was horrible. The project manager, Xavier, wouldn't answer our calls; he only responded via text message--hours later, or sometimes not until the next day. Not to mention that one of the main reasons we signed the contract was the positive reviews and the fact that the project manager told me he would move the refrigerator in the kitchen, specifically because my wife would be home alone with our 2-year-old son. They ended up damaging the refrigerator, leaving two dents on the side. One of the team members even went so far as to say it wasn't their fault because they weren't paid to move the fridge--but again, I signed the contract *because* the project manager said he would perform that service; otherwise, I wouldn't have closed the deal. On top of that, there was a lack of communication between the various teams and the project manager, as well as a complete lack of follow-up from the project manager with us. Not to mention that they had to redo the work multiple times because they didn't do it right the first time--such as the bathroom sink, which kept leaking water (I had to call the store directly to get it fixed because the project manager wouldn't answer his phone). The hallway cabinet was left with sharp, poorly finished edges; they redid it a second time, but the edges remained just as sharp. So, we gave up on calling them to fix it. It felt as though we weren't customers who had paid the full price quoted, but rather people asking for a favor. Two neighbors came over to look at the cabinets, and we did not recommend the company to them. Furthermore, I have another project coming up for the break room at my company, which I will now be taking to a different company. I hope that Express Reface will at least honor their word regarding the 2-year warranty they provided; that is the bare minimum we expect--though, honestly, I hope we won't even need to use it. The team itself isn't bad, but the leadership is horrible. It was the worst customer service experience we have ever had--marked by a complete lack of communication and zero follow-through regarding both the project and the client. read more

I live in Martinez (62 miles) and was surprised that they provide service to such a large area. Michele arrived 2 days after my call. She was professional and pleasant. Fantastic service and product. Couldn't be happier with Express Reface. We've done kitchen renovations many times and this company has been one of the easiest to deal with. I have a new baby and wanted to make sure the paint they use is low toxin. Michelle was great at answering all my questions and my back and forth with sample colors. I thought their pricing was reasonable and quality is great. My only concern is that the product is laminate would will age differently than the paint of the surround cabinet over time but they do come with 5 years warranty. I also wish they had more choice in colors, would pay extra for custom colors. The prep work was amazing! we work from home and was concern about paint fumes and dust but it was completely sealed off and best part was it only took 2 days! I have lived in my house for eight years now and have never liked the look of the kitchen. I saw a commercial for Express Reface and decided to go online to get one of their instant quotes. I was unsure about refacing but in the last minute when all my counters were removed and before getting new ones installed, I decided to move forward with refacing. I called and they got me on their schedule in a few days. With pure luck, they had an opening and so it was meant to be. They came out and in 1 day sanded, painted all boxes, and installed new doors, drawers, and shelves. It looks brand new. Even my general contractor and tile guy were impressed! Can's say enough about the customer service either. Everyone was pleasant to work with. They make their own doors at a factory here in Sacramento and guarantee the product. It truly is amazing. I have 30 year old solid wood cabinets so I decided to just reface instead of replace. They did a fantastic job at first but then couldn't complete the job. The sloppiness really shows. I complained about it and the guy attempted to correct the issue but he just made it worse. They said they would come back and try again but I declined. Staying inside the line while painting is not their strong point. I would still hire them for future work with the understanding that I would either have to hire a painter to correct the details or correct it myself. At the end of the day, I felt neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. I'd place their work between a 3 and 4 star, but not a solid 4. Customer service is a 5 though and hence, I errored to a 4 in my review. read more

During this Covid situation I appreciate that through this entire process all employees showed up in masks and the installers even arrived 15 minutes early. My thought is , if no one replies to a quote request/lead for a new client, the business is either: -Already too busy and would not be able to work on my project in a timely fashion, or -Possibly flakey and there would have been problems during the project, or -Not willing to hustle and earn my business. I got an online quote for one price, after which they came in for a formal quote and began up charging (ended up being about $2,500 more than originally quoted). The quote was still lower than replacing the cabinets outright, and they advertised they could get it done in a day, so I went ahead and entered into a contract with them to complete the refaciing of my kitchen and hall cabinets. (side note: they use a third party to complete the work). Most of the work was done as promised, but they could not get the lazy susan cabinet doors on straight (mind you they were straight before they removed them to install the new doors they made). They also did not complete all the required painting, installed drawers that were different widths from each other (they were all supposed to be the same width), and a couple of the "new" drawers they installed were damaged inside. To top it off, they also scratched up the front of my microwave (the workers denied they hit it, and I was told since I had no proof there was nothing they could do). I brought this to their attention and it took numerous phone calls and multiple additional trips back to the house to (somewhat) finish the work. Once they had my money they were ghosts and never returned calls or made any real effort to resolve the issues. After about 6-weeks, I finally just let the lazy susan and microwave issues go because I was getting nowhere with them. I see the 5-star reviews and have to wonder if they are real reviews, or if I have a higher standard for quality and workmanship than other consumers. The cabinets do look better than before, but I'm not entirely happy with the results, and I would not use them again or refer them to anyone else in the future. read more

When you find a company that follows through on every promise - you know that you have found a winner. We used Express Reface to replace 25 year old kitchen cabinet fronts. We painted them 8 years ago to give them a bit more life, but now, 8 years after that paint job, we couldn't avoid it any longer. These doors and drawers had to go! They were practically begging us to put them out of their misery. We were referred by a friend to try Express Reface. We met with Meetra, in sales, who was extremely professional and promptly replied to any and every question that we had. Once we made the decision to move forward, the design team came in very quickly to measure and set a time for the project to begin. Xavier was the designer and he measured everything. We were able to add a few pull out drawers were there were stationary shelves. We also added a pull out recycling area where we previously had 2 shelves. These small changes were going to improve our overall experiences in the kitchen. Day 1 - they removed all the old doors, drawers, shelves and hardware. They repaired any issues with the remaining cabinet boxes. They draped, taped and protected the areas that were not to be painted. Then the painting began. They painted inside all of the cabinets which really was the best part of the whole project. It made everything look brand new! Day 2 - they installed all the new shelves, doors, drawers and hardware, cleaned up and voila - project was done. The pull out drawers are fabulous!!!! Yep - you heard correctly - 2 days!!!! The only thing that took extra time was the time I needed to empty all of my drawers and shelves. Oh, and to put it all back again. It was a great opportunity to purge out all of the things you really don't need. Also a great time to reorganize! The design team, scheduler and construction team were on time, did what they said that they would do and followed up to make sure that everything went according to our satisfaction. Express Reface stands by their name! In and out in 2 days and that included adding new boxes to area that were previously a built in bar and desk. Not only are they fast, but it is quality workmanship. This company has a great business model from start to finish - down to a science and they are experts. I saw their commercial and hopped online and did the count of drawers and doors, instant quote. My first thought was, this is too good to be true. If we have estimator come out they are going to pull old bait and switch and it will be double. When Michelle came out with samples and initial quote she was prepared with presentation, pictures (including her own home renovation), and spoke about the team and longevity with the company. She did see if we wanted soft close and rollouts but honestly that did not add that much to quote so we added on. I was ecstatic when I learned they could add boxes too. The quote ended up being so within budget, we decided to have adjacent bathroom done too. Next step was the measurements, Xavier. He even said they replace the top molding for more modern (not add on). In only 2 days our 22-year old cabinets where transformed into beautiful, modern, light gray Shaker style cabinets. Hugo and his crew were great about taping off everything and the cabinets look as though they came out of a model home. Husband and I are amazed with the results.
