Best pit beef in the Severn, Odenton, Millersville, Gambrills, and WaughChapel area. Excellent beef, soft-fresh rolls, great condiments...

Pit Beef Sandwich
Khiem H.

The service was quick and I got my food pretty quick. The portion is also really good for the price. The food however is nothing to write home about. The pit beef was cooked to the right temperature but lacks seasoning. The sausage was good but it's more like a hotdog texture. The place is very casual and has outside seating. I'd come back again and hopefully it'll be better next time.

Mac and cheese

I liked the price point but the quality of the food I don't feel was really worth it. The BBQ Beef sandwich seemed like it was not fresh and the pit beef was well done but they told me it would be more on the rare side. The Mac and cheese looked good but when tasting it tasted more like Kraft Mac and cheese. The service i thought was good service and as far as the ambience it was kind of dirty tables along the bbq sauce just sitting out in the open and not refrigerated at all.

8 Pieces BBQ Chicken, ribs, potato salad, greens, Mac n cheese, baked beans

Great BBQ!! The ribs were tender and were falling off the bone. The chicken was cooked just right. The BBQ sauce was savory! The baked beans are just!!! So good that I did the happy dance after first spoonful. We tried the greens, Mac n cheese, green and potato salad all were good as well. I love onSevern and I'm so glad that I found this spot. Great price point.

5 hard fried hot wings, half of the 1/2 rack of ribs, & collard greens made w.ham and onions

Driving by Expressway nearly ever day, we hadn't thought much about stopping since I'll be honest it doesn't look like much- but curiosity got the better of us and we decided to stop in to see what they were offering. Surprised to discover they had a plethora of sandwich offerings, side dishes, and various meat platters- I was instantly drooling, wanting to try it all. We opted for splitting: The Bulldog-hot spicy sausage wrapped in beef, cheese, and sauteed peppers- a very LARGE packed sandwich- thick pieces of meat, with warm, fresh, well sauteed peppers-a very bold flavor burst in each bite. A hearty eat! Definitely recommend using the horseradish topping. A quality sandwich, at an unbelievably low price for the amount of meat you get packed on top. Hot wings (fried hard)-I did specifically ask for wings fried hard- but either they didn't remember or their hard isn't as hard as other wing joints- so the wings weren't as crispy as I expected, but they were still delicious- ample smothered hot sauce, juicy insides-they were large pieces of chicken- I would order again, and see if maybe they do fry harder 1/2 rack of ribs-I asked for dry ribs, since I'm not the biggest BBQ lover-a half rack equated to 6 large ribs- they were very thick cut ribs, that was all meat-not fatty, not greasy, just well grilled meat- high quality taste or juicy meat Side of Mac & Cheese & Collard Greens-reasonable prices- nothing special, just your average sides. The collards are made with ham and onion chunks-nothing special-they actually tasted a bit watery compared to a hearty sauteed sauce flavor I'm familiar with from other places- I'd probably opt for a different side next time They also accidentally added a pit beef sandwich (because we asked for a Pulled Pork & they got it wrong)- I felt bad for the mistake, but was not sad-holy moly the sandwich was packed with meat! We ended using the bun for leftover pulled pork meat-and taking the meat off to put in salads for leftover lunches. Well, we ended up with 4 lunch meals from the quantity of meat on this one sandwich! I would definitely order this as a lunch option in the future, split it up, and have multiple meals. I don't typically crave bbq, but if I am ever in the mood this is definitely getting added as a go-to spot! Local hole in the walls continue to surprise and impress! Lesson learned, always try it yourself despite appearances!

They also have this menu by the order windows

Items are hit or miss, when it hits it hits and when it misses it misses. Sometimes the meat can be dry, and sometimes the sides can be under salted. The mac n cheese is usually pretty good consistently solid, as is the turkey sandwich!

As pit beef goes, this place is pretty good. Not the best joint and far from being the worst. I like the flavor of their sandwiches but they could be warmer. A lot of times they are cold. But the flavor and location always wins me over and I come back.

I got the shredded beef with sauce sandwich and fries. Just ordinary. Lots of sauce-too sweet but Spivey. Fries were basic.

Some of the best tacos I've had since retiring from work in DC years ago! The place I used to go to closed during covid and I was disappointed it didn't make it. BUY today I got such a treat! The truck is always super clean and I'm thankful. The staff aren't the most friendly folks but they are professional and get the job done so I'm pleased with the timely service. I also got beef brisket and a dino rib which were also tasty but the tacos took the show today. Thank you DC! I have to go back and get more as the ones I had didn't all make it home to share. The truck is at 7000 Laurel Bowie Road from 4-8pm or until sold out today, Tuesday, 11/18/25 (Shell Gas by the 7-11 and Crab Galley).

I think I might have set my expectations a bit too high…read more Pulling up to the restaurant and seeing the massive amount of chopped fire wood, I was like this place is going to be off the hook. Upon entering, I thought it was an interesting setup because I assumed that this spot was a restaurant/(dive)bar. Turns out it is a restaurant in a liquor store...or maybe it's a liquor store in a restaurant. I'll admit that this misunderstanding was on me. Someone suggested the restaurant, and I did not do any follow-up research. Although the restaurant is connected to a liquor store, you cannot consume alcohol inside. But, I guess that was not a deal breaker because I was more interested in some good ol' BBQ. At the counter, I started to look over the menu because there were quite a lot of interesting items. They have a long list of various BBQ/meat items and a bunch of sides. For my dining pleasure, I went with the two meat (general BBQ and sausage), two sides combo (greens and mac n cheese), which was about 18 bucks. The price for the amount of food wasn't too bad. To be frank the food was not what I expected. Ok, the food was not horrible, but I think that I might have set my expectations too high. Normally, when I think of Texas BBQ, I think of meat that is slowly cooked so that it's very tender. The meat here seemed like it was cooked on a grill and mixed with BBQ sauce immediately prior to serving. To me, the meat was a bit tougher than what I have normally experienced in most BBQ restaurants. Perhaps, the restaurant was having a bit of an off day during our visit.

This was pulled off their sandwich menu for combos with fries and a sweet tea. Pit beef was on my list of things to eat in Maryland. I originally wanted to check out another spot, but it wasn't convenient location wise. My friend suggested this one instead. He was the driver so I said it was fine without thinking much of it. Realized later this isn't actually the pit beef I read about and wanted, but it's a decent spot for a meat sando. All our meals came with a soup which was yummy. Kinda like chicken noodle / dumpling soup. That was actually my fav thing here. The pit beef was more like a roast beef sandwich which was fine. I actually enjoyed the brisket more. The bonfire bbq they describe like a sloppy joe. Tho I thought it wasn't as saucy and messy. Not exactly what I was expecting sandwich wise, but I was nicely surprised by their complimentary soup.
