I loved my burger at five guys. I have been craving a burger for about a week now. I couldn't hold off any longer and decided to pick up burgers for everyone after work. So l avoided the line by going to the website and placing my order for ASAP. We all had the regular size bacon cheeseburger. I picked the toppings to suit all of our tastebuds. Located in the Odenton Shopping Center, this Five Guys location is a decent option for "fast food." The workers are friendly and efficient. It seems like a lot of high school kids work here, but they are quite professional and far better than a lot of the surrounding businesses. The online ordering system is genius. They are significantly above McDonald's or Burger King in their quality and cleanliness. This five guys has extremely friendly staff and they keep the tables and floor clean. The food is always hot, I love that the fries are barely cool enough to eat so that my drive home doesn't result in cold fries. I like that the option to add whatever toppings I want on my sandwich is included in the prices. Especially being able to ask for extra cheese! I have to say you either like this place or you don't. You tell some people you are going to Five Guys and they look at you with the can I come with you look or the I can't eat there. Well I do eat there. In fact I remember it from back in the day when they were still growing and offered military discounts and had lower prices but I guess as they grow their prices go one way while some of their benefits to customers go another. Oh well let me get to my review because if I go any further the Yelp police will yank another one of my reviews. One thing I will say about Five Guys is that I have tried them in numerous states and the food is consistent. I admit it is a good burger when compared to certain other fast food places (Hardees, BK, Wendys) but still falls short of some of the local spots that serve burgers (Abbey Burger Bistro, Clarks, Bmore Burger, Good Stuff Eatery, BTS). Feel free to disagree with me. The orders always come out quick and one thing I like about this one is that they leave a little chew on the bacon as I am not a fan of crispy bacon. If you really pressed for time you can order via their app or from their website. The staff from my experience has always been courteous and professional which can be a rarity these days especially in the fast food industry. The fries are always overflowing and hot as you can easily see they cut their own fries and have them at the ready to drop in oil as soon as you make your order. The burgers are always juicy and stay warm because being wrapped in foil to aid the melting of the cheese. That's if you get cheese and I am not sure why you would not. Lactose intolerant? Skip it and get cheese on your burger to treat yourself. You get a plethora of toppings to choose from so customization is highly encouraged. I wish I could give this place a solid 3.5 stars but sine Yelp does not allow that I will make it four. They offer too many burger toppings to mention, everything from traditional toppings to mushrooms or jalapenos. And if you love onions, you can get them grilled or fresh. We have a varied opinion in our house on how to top a burger. At Five Guys, even the pickiest in our bunch is pleased. So, Mr. Everything I like to get down and messy and Mr. Plain I hate a mess are both full and satisfied by the end of the meal. The burgers are wrapped in foil and numbered in the sequence that they were ordered to avoid playing the peak and see who's burger it is game. This allows each dinner the pleasure of opening up their own culinary treasure. French fries are fresh cut, cooked in peanut oil and large enough to share with two to three people. They are Five Guy style or Cajun. They are served inside a paper cup overflowing into the brown bag. They are served skins on and the smell permeates your senses as soon as you open the front door. Fountain beverages are sold to cleanse the palate. For the non burger lovers, they also serve hot dogs. Though I don't believe I have ever seen anyone eat a hot dog at Five Guys. They also offer peanuts in the shell while you wait. Odenton Five guys is unpretentious. Their menu is simple. Their service is quick and friendly. The place is new but it is always clean no matter how busy they are. It cost a little more to eat at Five Guys than their competitor across the street but it is worth it in every sense of the way. If you haven't been to a Five Guys before -- their burgers are great. Their patties fall in the juicy, loose, and drippy category, as opposed to the tighter burgers you get at places like Fatburger. Lots of topping choices -- including an "off menu" grilled jalapenos selection -- unfortunately, the buns don't stand up as well as I think they should to a heavily-laden burger. It's 80-20 beef, patted thin, grilled on a well seasoned flattop with the addition of bacon, cheese and a host of options coupled with a HUGE order of fries (perfectly cooked) and coke products to drink. That's it, that's the majority of their menu in a few simple sentences. It is simply Genius. Five guys took one of the simplest and most American of meals and perfected it. Is it healthy? Yes and no. It's like anything else in this world. Something to be savored in moderation. Hell it's really a days calories in one meal but when we go three of us split the fries (yes they are that big) My son shares a sandwich with his mom and I and 2 soda's complete the meal. The minimalist approach is one of the keys to this chains success and the simplistic decor is appealing so I am unsure why it would garner such a low rating. Five Guys is a great chain but this location is terrible. I was there last night and carried out my order. There were napkins stuffed in the top of the bags so I couldn't see the fries until I got home. If I lived closer I would have gone right back because the fries were practically burned! Five Guys is a personal favorite. This particular location is great. They work fast and get the job done (feeding me!). Service The service is great all the time. I have not had a bad service experience at this location. Also, they keep the place clean. Quality The food is cooked to perfection. The fries are plentiful.
