First of all, lately my reviews are going missing! I wrote one for Rieve's Deli the day I tried it, on 4/29/25! It's OK. I mean, maybe the breakfasts are to die for, so I'm willing to try that before giving up. But my corned beef sandwich was just OK. There are only a couple of bread choices, and not that I wanted rye but you couldn't get a Reuben here, for example. The whole wheat bread was just ... OK. Like go to the grocery and buy their brand off the shelf and that was what it was. The mayo was thinly spread, as was the yellow mustard. I guess there was about 2 oz of meat. Honestly, it just wasn't worth $10 to me. Sandwiches come with nothing, so if you want chips or anything else, you pay separately for those. It's very small, as noted, but very clean. Parking is kinda wonky, although there are enough spaces - just not right in front. You can get to it from the side street (Odenton Road) or cut through between Walgreens and Ace Hardware, from Piney Orchard Parkway. read more

We spotted this place while at Walgreens and decided to give it a shot--really glad we did. I had the Reuben, my wife had the breakfast platter and French toast, and everything was delicious. Friendly staff and great service. We'll definitely be back. read more

My Dad and I wanted something fast and good--my fridge was empty and we were running short on time before we needed to be somewhere. I yelped breakfast and was surprised to come across this spot. What on earth?! I have lived in this area all my life and have NEVER seen or known about this little deli. I thought it was a taxidermy spot, for some reason? Not the case at all--they apparently have been open for over 70 YEARS! The deli serves as a go-to spot for a quick grab and go or a quick stop-in and sit either inside or outside (total of four tables). Counter deli-style ordering only. They are located off of Piney Orchard Parkway behind the Walgreens and ACE (truly hidden). Other than their breakfast menu items, the Cheesesteak sandwich, scrapple and the Italian sub is what people tend to order here according to the cashier. Yes, it is food you can make at home but something about a good ol'deli just makes it all taste better. Also, totally random but they have a bitcoin dispenser and seem to be the go-to spot for all things related to the lottery. No joke, there have been A LOT of winners here. read more

Intimate convenience store located behind the Ace Hardware and Walgreens. I usually come here for a breakfast sandwich because they are inexpensive, tasty, and provide a great portion size. Their hash browns are humongous and their coffee is pretty good for a small mom and pop type of store as well. Customer service is always great and although it is tight and small inside, there's a few pub tables you can wait for your order at or stand. Even during the morning rush, they don't take long to crank orders out the door. I would highly recommend you give them a try. read more

I struggle to find the words to express my absolute delight in finding a deli in MD that offers a few breakfast stapes that could help ease my homesickness for my homestate- NJ. Rieve's Deli is the only place I've found so far in my 14 years in MD that offers a porkroll, egg, and cheese on a kaiser roll! I really could not believe it. My friend and I called in an order one Saturday morning for a pork roll, egg, and cheese for me, and a scrapple, egg, and cheese for him (he's from Philly and was equally as excited!). This place is kinda hidden, but Google Maps will get you there. Follow the signs to the Walgreens if you're feeling unsure. I ran in to get our sandwiches and the inside is a cute little convenience store. Our order was ready upon my arrival, I paid and was out the door in a minute or two. Neither of us could wait to get home to try these sandwiches we'd both been craving for years. Our expectations were admittedly high, but I'd have to admit we were both a bit disappointed. The kaiser roll, egg, and cheese portion of mine was just as I remembered. There were only about 2 thin slices of pork roll though. If you're accustomed to the traditional type of PEC sandwich from NJ, you'll want to double, or maybe even triple the meat. My friend had similar feelings about his scrapple, egg, and cheese. Everything but the meat was great. The scrapple seemed overcooked, and had little flavor. He also would ask for extra meat on his sandwich next time. This place definitely has potential. This is not quite a hole in the wall, but definitely a place you wouldn't know it's there unless you know about it. Loved by many, especially for the breakfast sandwiches and cheesesteaks. It's always busy. Food is simple and tasty. You're not coming here for anything fancy. Everything is customizable, reasonably priced. My mom and I were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for some lunch. We ordered an Italian sub with lettuce, tomato and mayo, a Steak and cheese sub with lettuce, tomato, mayo, a Meatball sub, and a side order of fries with gravy. All of the seats inside were taken and there were quite a few people who picked up to-go orders. We brought the food home and dug in! Everyone enjoyed their food. Everything was fresh. The building is past/behind Walgreens. There are a few seats at this store. Inside there are one or two 2-person tables and a high top table that seats 4-5 people. There are a few tables and chairs outside. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also get your lotto tickets, cash checks, and do money orders here. Overall, we would return if we were in the neighborhood. The prices are pretty cheap compared to other delis. The food was good and the employees were polite and friendly. read more

Rieve's Deli is a cool little local spot that sits in the cut behind the Ace Hardware and Walgreens on Piney Orchard. The staff is friendly, and the food is decent. But don't prepare yourself to be blown away. At best this is "let me get something slight to eat real quick" food. read more

Easy ordering, quick service and absolutely delicious breakfast sandwiches. I got the Meggwich which was possibly the best breakfast sandwich I ever had. A co-worker and I were in the mood for something different for lunch and I remembered having gone here with two other co-workers about four years ago. The place reminds me of the carry-outs of yesteryear. The sandwiches, subs, and fries are very good. They have seating for maybe a dozen people but those tables have had plenty of extra room the two times I've been here. Most customers do carry-out. Unassuming little store that is not really a deli, but sort of a deli. Yelped deli and they popped up in the Odenton area, so we decided to give it a whirl. We got a reuben on rye and a BLT. Both were pretty good, but the store's odors left a bad taste in my mouth. There is a stagnant water pond right behind them, and I assume that the pond is a major contributor to the ungodly smell inside the store.... well, at least I hope it wasn't a sanitation issue instead. read more

I have some seriously mixed feelings about my first experience at Rieve's. I'll try to be concise by listing the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: I got the chef's salad and it was fresh. I mean every bit of vegetables from lettuce to onions to green peppers tasted like they went out back to pick it this morning. The deli meat, a serious problem at Mona's in an earlier review, was quality meat. I rated this restaurant based on the food because it was that good. The Bad: No seating. They make the food fresh in front of you, but don't give you anywhere to eat it. Even the pit beef place next door has a couple of picnic tables to eat at. Fortunately, it looks as though the building that houses Rieve's is going to be physically moved to another part of this parcel and a new building with outdoor seating should be built according to the Odenton Town Center Master Plan. But for now, you have to get it to go and figure out somewhere else to eat it. Also, it's a problem for me that they don't accept credit cards for food purchases (only convenience store sodas, chips, etc.). The Ugly: The building smells just a bit. It's a historic building (literally protected as such) and smells like it. Don't get me wrong, this place is very clean and I'm sure it's super sanitary. But it smells a bit musty as any building sporting this much age would. The verdict is: Go for the food, bring cash, and plan your getaway to a spot where you can eat it. read more

Love Rievie's. I've been going since I was a kid. My Mom and I can't get enough of their Ruben sandwiches, no one elses in this area is better than Rievies. Sometimes, depending on the weather, we eat in or carry out. Love eating at their outside tables but in the Summer when it is really hot out the pond behind their store smells s bit so we either eat inside the Deli or we slep the food home and enjoy it. I have NEVER gotten anything food wise that I didn't like. They also have regular types of Salads, Pasta Salad, Mac Salad and etc Salads which are pretty awesome. They have some packaged lunch-ish foods and any kind of beverage you can think of. Great family owned place. Sunny is always on tap and he is always, all of the employees are, friendly and call you by name. I seriously don't know how Sunny remembers almost everyone's name. If you ever have a crappy day go see Sunny, get some food, it will brighten your day to the max. So my review of Rievies is excellent food and beyond excellent people!! Not the best. I ordered over the phone. The gentleman that took my order was nice enough and helpful so I said ok this is going to be a good first experience. When I got there there was just the cook .. who I might've talked to in the phone and one other person...a woman. I know during these COVID times businesses are slow and staffing is reduced. .. so I get it. I just don't like that u go from cooking to ringing up. That's a no no and like I said this was my first time visiting. I ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches for my boys and a breakfast platter for myself with home fries, turkey sausage and toast. My kids said their sandwiches were decent. My platter wasn't good. My home fries were burnt and my turkey sausage barely cooked. Didn't enjoy it. I went specifically for the home fries! Why would u serve me these burnt lil potatoes with no onions or seasoning. Do u know what home fries is? I doubt I'll be bk. Other people seem to like this place tho.
