I had called several companies, all found through various web and review searches in early January looking for a refinish of all the floors in our three bedroom vintage 1950 construction coop in Bayside area of queens. I got 3 estimates and Devon at Exquisite Flooring was the one in the middle of the quote. My gut feeling for him and his demeanor was all positive, and I am now a very happy customer indeed My floors were last refinished over 35 years ago. They were beyond needing this redo as they were in pretty bad shape all around. In addition, We had a large area smack dab in the middle of the main rooms ( 2 square ft or so) that needed to be rebuilt due to removal of a wall recently, and several older patched areas due to construction done years ago. All was no problem for this company. Two separate visits of one and half day each because furniture had to be moved around from room to room. Job was done well, fast and with attention to detail. I would for sure use this company again. Final good service event, even after some time....i had noticed a very small drip trail of finishing material several days after the guys left. I was in a jam because I have a rental apartment and when my tenants left there was a big stain on my wood floor and time was very tight because I am putting the apartment up for sale in a couple of days. I looked on yelp and this company had the most reviews and 4 1/2 stars. I read good things about Deven so I was a bit relieved when he was the man who answered the phone. . I called and told him my situation and he was able to get there within an hour. He told me the floors needed to be sanded because the color couldn't be matched which made sense to me because it looks like they took bleach to try and get out the stain. There were also cuts and other stains in the wood. His communication was great and he was able to get me in to do the work the next day. The price was reasonable and although I have never met him he was a total gentleman and very professional on the phone. He did the work according to his promise. I went this morning to inspect it and it was beautiful with no mess left behind. I count on yelp and once again it did not disappoint. Devendra and crew did an excellent job with a basement flooring job. Giving them a 4 instead of a 5 for two reasons --- but if you hire them and pay more attention than I did, you will likely give them a five. 1. We didn't negotiate with them on price. Based on the amount of time it took them to install our flooring, we should have done that. 2. The crew needed to cut some wood off a door that opened into the basement. Politely put, the cut was not straight. Think delta y = 5 sin(2 * pi * L in inches) * arc cot (45.9 / (L + 1)**2. OK, I exaggerate... more likely 4.4 * ...., not "5 * ...". My experience has been quite different than others who have reviewed this company. The work was done in the fall and while staff were nice they left dust everywhere, and rushed out leaving gaps and had to return to caulk. Soon after I noticed factory defects in the boards as if they did not inspect them before installing. Gashes, splintered ends, holes, and more. The boards have also separated leaving rather large gaps, more than expected due to the dry winter air. Shoddy material and workmanship. I cannot recommend them and may have to redo their work. I don't often leave reviews, but felt compelled to share how impressed I was with the service from Exquisite Flooring. We were moving out of a one bedroom rental unit in a condo building, and needed to replace a few damaged boards and sand/stain/refinish the entire apartment. Exquisite Flooring was tied with one other provider for the best quote (out of three we received), and I decided to work with the company based on the positive reviews on Yelp and elsewhere, as well as my first impression in meeting Deven for the quote. Our building management company was generally slow to process the paperwork required to approve the work, and on multiple occassions requested additional paperwork. Susan from the office handled the multiple requests in stride, and even furnished some documents outside of normal business hours to help expedite the process. She really went above and beyond the get the approvals we needed. Upon beginning the work, we unfortunately learned that the floors had been sanded too many times before, and the plywood on the engineered boards was clearly visible in many spots (which I inspected after they sanded a portion of the living room, and can confirm was the case). Exquisite Flooring provided an updated quote the same day which I was comfortable with. They returned literally the next day, and completed the work over the next three days, resulting in just a one day delay vs. the original plan. The floors look fantastic and the craftsmanship is top notch. I strongly recommend Exquisite Flooring and will be a returning customer next time I need flooring work of any kind! read more

This is an entirely professional operation for the most reasonable price you will find in the NYC area. I'm so happy I went with them. After relying on Verrazzano Flooring, who more than doubled their initial quote, I scrambled to find another option. Exquisite Flooring came recommended from a friend, and the price they quoted was not only $1200 less than Verrazzano, it also never changed. At first I was nervous because my floors are maple, which is a wood that is particularly difficult to stain and requires expertise. Deven was completely upfront with me about the challenges of staining maple (Verrazzano was not), and his guys came fully prepared and did a fantastic job.
