I signed up over the phone as the person on location was walking the property and later found out was filling in because of some firings. Got the text messages that payment wasn't working. Called and asked to give to them over the phone. They kept saying they would send me an email link. The call center or the person at the desk moved things around where they had two emails and the system that was for payment had the wrong email. Super unfortunate!! read more

This Extra Space Storage seemed convenient at first--but a 74% price hike ($155 to $270) in a single year is outrageous and frankly predatory. They claim vague "market conditions" without providing any justification or transparency. If I ran my business like this, hiking prices randomly without accountability, I'd be out of customers fast. This opaque pricing model is a scam aimed at squeezing loyal Texans, especially shocking in a community like Westlake. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone who values honesty and fairness and transparency. At the end of this month I'll be moving my belongings. I am zeroing in locally-owned/mom and pop alternatives like Store It All Self Storage (Village West Dr) or a competitor like CubeSmart or Public Storage, who at least have clear pricing and transparent practices. It's crazy that companies like this exist. What happened to voting a market/fair price and locking into a contract? With all the public storage facilities popping up along the freeways and in our suburbs I find it really hard to but their argument that market conditions and scarcity of storage are calling for these extreme price hikes. Didnt check with me at all before raising my monthly fee by almost 2 times the amount and somehow was able to adjust my auto pay without my approval. It all started at the front desk with how helpful and considerate the front desk made me feel about leaving my things here. I had a very expensive piece of art work that I thought would be ruined nope 100% not damaged giving this Texas heat in the summer . I give this place a 10/10. Predatory business model where they lure you in with introductory rates and then jack up prices, twice in a year to be extremely unaffordable. This place used to be a reasonably priced location to use in Austin until February 2024...that's apparently when some seriously greedy jokers took over. I'd been renting from them for nearly a year and a half, and paying $113 a month for a 5x10 space. Then last month I get a text from them thanking me for my payment of $165.50! Wait... what?!? I paid $113 in January, made no changes to my unit, received no notice of the price increase, and now I have to pay $52.50 more a month?? For what? Did you have the doors plated in gold..? No... then what the hell?! I tried to dispute the price increase, but was told that the rate could not be reduced. So I called my location on Saturday, March 16th and told a woman named Linda that I wanted to pro-rate my payment so that I could leave at the end of the month. She said they could do that, and charged me half a month's rent. I then got a text confirming my payment of $82.75 and I thought all was settled. UNTIL I get a text from Extra Space on Monday, March 18th saying, "Thanks for your payment of $82.75." Wait.. what?? Yeah, Extra Space decided that I must have made an error in only giving them half their money, so they went back into my account and took the other half out! No calls to clarify why I only paid half or to give me notice they'd be taking it. I'd even turned off my autopay so they wouldn't take money from my account without permission, but that didn't seem to matter. So beware of this place, the folks working behind the desk at this location were always kind when I'd call in, but their corporate masters are greedy as hell. read more

They did and I gave all the information/RSVP and returned on Monday with the vehicle only to find out the unit I had reserved had been leased out to another renter. They had nothing else at that time and I was told they give priority to online customers. read more

Don't use this place if you like your stuff. My locker was broken into here. The lock was always locked, but the latch that is supposed to slide over didn't work properly, but you wouldn't know it. It slides, so you can close the lock, but the slide wouldn't go into the jamb properly. I would get random "soft close" messages, but I would go down and make sure everything was locked. She had to show me the "trick." I asked if everyone was taught that way, or if that was true for every unit. She said many units, and she teaches everyone. First of all, she didn't rent me my unit, so I don't know her trick, and it takes such acrobatics to get it to slide. But alas, since I didn't have insurance, I am SOL, even though it is due to their faulty lock. You need to enter the building with a code, but they do not care about people piggybacking. As I was leaving a college girl was waiting at the door. As I left, and the doors were open, she called to her dad that the door was open. As he approached, I said my locker was just broken into and I preferred they used the code. He said he would in a second and went right in. I went and told her, because she said that is how the break is happen, but she didn't care. read more

[The above review was during the summer; not sure why I didn't post but the following review is for today 12.18.2017:] Fought holiday shopping traffic to get to my storage facility off of 360 today only to find that the floors were being waxed during peak operating hours - with my unit cordoned off. when I asked, "why wasn't this done at night?", I was told by a very rude attendant - the one waxing the floors - that "we don't work at night." When I asked, "How am I supposed to get to my unit?", He responded, "I didn't tell you you can't go to your unit, I just said don't walk on the floors." DUH! My unit is in the cordoned-off area. I just vacated a 10x20 unit in which I had stored my belongings for over a year, and it was a stellar experience. Julie and Matt are super friendly, accommodating, understanding, and helpful. I'm really picky about air quality, cleanliness and maintaining a good relationship with management and I'm continually impressed with my experience at Extra Space. Most recently, I stopped by to check on my renewal date, Michael was on the phone so I decided to call later. I was looking for a storage space on behalf of the company I work for and we ended up settling with this location as they let me know they had a first month free promotion going on. I came in about 5 days before we needed the space so we could prepare for our movers. They had told me to wait until closer before signing the lease so that the lease start didn't include those extra days. When I came back in the following Monday, there was no longer a month free special and it was explained that it just wasn't available anymore partially due to the space we had reserved being the last one. I was still given a slight deal on the monthly price, but was a little frustrated that the verbal agreement changed and that it was too late for us to look elsewhere. However the office staff are friendly and the premises is clean and it's great storage access for the 360/Bee Cave area. I have yet to seen it busy and there always is plenty of parking. read more

My parents moved to Austin recently and needed temporary storage for the contents of a large house. Not only was this location the cleanest I'd ever seen, it was also well run with professional and friendly office staff. The ceilings are high - great for stacking up furniture and conserving space. And did I mention clean? This matters--you don't want to store your stuff in a place with temperature issues or bugs and rodents. This place is white and bright and secure. We rented on the second floor to save money. Moving in - and moving out - was a breeze with the elevator. So anyway, if you need storage, this is the place. read more
