I did not like the service I received when I arrived. They refused to give me a printed Agreement (Only PDF) and that was unsatisfactory for me. The Advertisement I answered did not state I would be required to have two increases in price every couple of months. I am looking into this and contacting the District Manager regarding this because increases are not stated in their Agreement. read more

They refused to let me use the bathroom. I am disabled and suffer from Crohns Disease. I informed them of this and they still refused to let me use the bathroom. I'm a paying customer. They are not very friendly or understanding of disabled people. Discrimination against a disabled person is just nasty. They told me to go somewhere else. Don't expect any disability accommodations from this awful place. read more

I got a quote on their site and no one was there in the office until they call me to complete my reservation the next day. I told The manager Mike that I am 900% sure I am leasing this storage only 30 days until my new place is remodeled he gave me a decent rate I felt and begged me to leave a five star review of how helpful he was but I'm glad I held off to make sure I don't get overcharged in the end. 2 weeks in he calls me and tells me he doesn't like how my lock is hanging. I didn't really care, it's locked all that matters and I'll be emptying it out next week. The following week passed I moved all my things out .. IT WAS EMPTY and I removed the lock I get another call please put your lock back on so I did. After my month was over I got a call asking if I need more time I said NO I am done and he says your lock is still on. I came in to remove my lock and end my lease with them. They are very confusing and manipulative people, I don't have time to drive back and forth and fix how my lock is hanging. So instead of 3 days overdue he charged me 30$ for a week. I've been here just over a year. My rates have gone up TWICE !!! I called yesterday and was told it is customary for them to raise rates every 5 months, and then every 9 months. This is an automatic rate increase, regardless of improvements being made or not. And not one single "improvement" has been done to my unit. I will have my belongings out this month and I will NEVER use this company's service again. Rip off !! Greedy !! read more

While they have a great location, I do not appreciate the fact that it seems that every few months they raise the rates on loyal customers. I see that 10x10 web pay storage is $98 month, reg $116, while I pay $144.62. This is a rip off in my opinion. with in 14 months of renting my rent was jacked up by 25% yes 25%..... 13% increase on the 3rd month. You will be forced to buy their overpriced insurance too. There is an older gentleman who is nice other than when it comes to the mandated insurance policy part the other guy has attitude problems. If you still not convinced to stay away from these knucleheads here is what coming from their own CEO. ExtraSpace uses what you could call a "5-9-9-9 system." After a customer has been with ExtraSpace for five months, his or her rent is hiked. That's followed by rent increases at subsequent nine-month marks. On average, about 50,000 ExtraSpace customers are hit with a 9 percent rent increase every month. -Spencer Kirk, CEO I can put up with up to a 5% hike a year not with 25% hike. I wish i heard their CEO before I moved in. update on 09/20/2014 - After writing this review I also wrote a complaint to them. I guess someone from their corporate forwarded my complaint to the local storage. I heard a voice message from them saying it was not after 3 months it was increased after 5 months initially. Do I really care when it was increased??? and the current price on on par with the increase. I really do not care about this either. One day I went to my storage to pick up something, one person walks to me and says "I left you a voice message the other day. I told him yes I heard that but that doesn't address my concern in any way and he started telling me that the contract is month to month... blah blah blah... I replied that does mean you will jack up the rent by 25% in a 14 months period and asked him why don't he put a board in the front with their greedy CEO's "5-9-9-9" statement. No word on that. This stupid company and their CEO thinks that since the contract is month to month they get to screw their customers whenever they feel like. Bad business model. read more
