    AVOID THIS MOVING COMPANY…read more **POST MOVE UPDATE: the company got back to me and offered me a $100 credit due to their lack of customer service. I decided to go with the company because I really believe in second chances and an all for small business prospering. I was absolutely WRONG to do so. The day started out okay. Three young men came with a truck and they started working. My husband and I supervised them to our best extent without getting in their way. We successfully packed the van and arrived at the new apartment. Once we arrived, I realized some of the pieces of furniture arrived scratched. Not little tiny surface scratches, but FULL on indents into the wood or pieces of the furniture cracking. Now I would kind it so much if they were old, but I literally purchased all these pieces in the past seven months. One of my dining room chairs had a scratch in it, my chest had chips where they carelessly couldn't put the drawers back in, the tv stand foot is cracking, my new dresser that I literally got in December/January has a broken piece (thankfully Macy's is sending a service technician), and the boys carried my mattress by the cover which ripped and is now dirty (found this out they left). I was most concerned with my wood pieces since it's hard to replace, my new dresser alone was over $500. I let the "lead" boy know, his name was Samson and he called his boss but didn't say anything, charged us, and left. I emailed the company with a follow up statement, they asked for pictures. I sent the ones I took, and SILENCE. I finally called today to follow up and spoke with Kyle. He told me their manager tried to call but I didn't pick up. No one bothered to leave a voicemail or send me an email. Kyle told me my options were a credit of $100 or sending a handyman out to fix the damages. Uh what? I declined the credit before ONLY to be offered $100 for you to damage my household goods?? I asked to speak to the manager and he said he wasn't available. I called back to see if he was available and they declined my call or let it go to voicemail. I've attached pictures of the damage AND my phone call receipts. Absolutely DO NOT use this company to move. If you're here on their yelp page, leave. Trust me, they are not trustworthy. They also falsely advertise military discounts, my husband andI paid OVER $500 for the move. I have never dealt with such a TERRIBLE business. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General of Virginia-Consumer Protection. *UPDATE: After writing this review, I was contacted by Kyle and he explained the process to me (which I would have explained that I already knew). I will up the review one star for the promptness of quality control. However, he said that there was no record of me calling, so I'm attaching a screenshot of my attempts. All calls over five seconds were when someone in the facility picked up, said "hello, thank you for calling," and when I started to speak, they promptly hung up. Please don't get me wrong, I am all for small businesses prospering, but as someone who comes from a family that owns a small business, and has worked and managed it for over ten years, I also know that customer service is the cornerstone and foundation. I really hope this gives some insight into how the business is run and managed. ****** This review is based solely on just a business etiquette, I have not used the company. I need to move out of our current place in about a week and I've been super stressed and anxious since we've moved out here about seven months ago and the military moved us. I found this company on Yelp with great ratings and was super ecstatic. However, I am absolutely disappointed with the customer service I have gotten from this company. I i messaged them on Yelp inquiring about their services because my husband and I need to move soon. They responded in a timely manner, but when I tried to ask them about the time on the day of my move, silence. So I called them three times over the phone and they answered...but hung up on me. If you can't do the work and we've been communicating, a simple "we won't be able to accommodate your time" is the proper way to go about the situation, wouldn't you think? I was really hopeful about this company since there were so many great yelp reviews (and I live, love, and breathe by Yelp), but I'm so disappointed. I would no doubt give this company NEGATIVE stars if I could. I would definitely NOT recommend contacting this company if you plan on moving anytime soon. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

They said they waited 15 minutes, even though I had the times of the calls on my phone. That would have been fine, things like this happen, but they were angry and blamed me and told me I would have to make an appointment on another day. When they finally did come they fined me for stains on some the boxes. YIKES, it would have been cheaper to just buy boxes and then throw them out. I was just trying to be green. I'll never do that again.

They showed up 5 hours late, yelled at me that I gave them a bad quote and refused to do my move which ended up costing me THOUSANDS. And spoiler, another company did the job in the time I was originally quoted by these people and for half the price. As a woman moving alone, these movers made me incredibly uncomfortable in the short time they were in my home. I called and got a quote over the phone. This was not unusual to me as I've only ever gotten phone quotes for moving and have never had issues in the past. I was quoted 2.5-3 hours with 3 movers. I called 5 other companies in the area and received similar quotes, I chose this company due to their availability. I scheduled my move for 4 days before I needed to be out of my place. They were scheduled to arrive between 12-3pm. At 3pm, I was told their morning job was taking much longer than anticipated but they should arrive within the hour. At 4pm I received a text from the team letting me know they were an HOUR AND A HALF away and would be stopping for food on their way. I contacted the "manager" and was assured they would be able to complete my move that day. The team showed up at 5:30pm, 5.5 hours late and I have never had movers be more disrespectful and demeaning toward me. My home was clean, fully boxed, and ready to be loaded. For $210/hour I was not about to waste time. They walked through my home to assess everything and Tyler, who is supposedly the best they have, was rude and disrespectful every step of the way. He yelled at me that there was no way they could do the move in the time quoted. Given that their morning job took 4-5 hours longer than anticipated, whoever is quoting jobs clearly doesn't know what they're doing. I was alone and the way their team treated me in my home made me incredibly uncomfortable, they yelled at me that I wasted their time, they drove to Fort Collins from Denver and their cars were in a storage unit in Denver that closed at 9pm. Even if they completed the job in the minimum quoted time, they still wouldn't have made it back to Denver in time to collect their vehicles so I don't see how that was my problem but he sure made it my problem. Tyler told me the move would take a team of 4 movers at least 7 hours to complete. To be clear, this was a two bedroom townhome, not a 5 bedroom house. As I was about to throw them out of my home for being so demeaning and disrespectful, they offered to step out and call their manager. At 6pm I received a call from the manager who told me the team claimed there were 150 boxes in my home and they would not be doing the move. When I argued that was absolutely not the case (i counted and there were 56 boxes, 6 large, 15 medium, 25 small, and 10 plastic tubs) I was told he didn't know who to believe...um excuse me?!? He offered to reschedule for another day at more than DOUBLE my initial quote. After the experience his "best guy" had to offer, there was no way I would ever agree to pay them even my original quote let alone $1800?! I told him this was unacceptable and explained the financial impact, all I got was "sorry, we wish you the best of luck with your move" after wasting 6 hours of my time and costing me thousands. This was a huge waste of my time and costly. I deliberately scheduled the move on my day off with several days after to do final small things and clean before handing over keys. A new tenant was scheduled to move in shortly after. Because of this company's laziness and incompetence, I had to pay an additional month rent and the next tenant's move was also impacted. I am truly beside myself at what a horrible experience this was. Now for the kicker - I hired another company to do my move the following week. I hired two movers and anticipated an 8 hour move due to what I was told by this team. I was genuinely afraid to do the walkthrough given what happened with moving brothers. I explained what happened and the new quote I was given and the new movers laughed. They said this team took too long at their job in the morning, ate and sat in the truck for an hour, and when they showed up they were tired or lazy and simply didn't want to do the job. They said the 7 hour quote was an FU to me since they drove up to Fort Collins. It took the new movers FOUR HOURS TOTAL. And cost me less than moving brothers original quote including a 40% tip. NEVER give this company your business. They will leave you up a creek without a paddle without so much as an apology. I'm grateful they requested cash payment and didn't require a deposit as they will never get a penny from me. I will tell anyone and everyone I know to avoid this company!

Curiously and without any follow-up from anyone at Boulder Packaging, my time-sensitive customer's package sat without even being scanned into the system for tracking four days after drop-off at this store until I called with pointed questions. My business card was provided twice to the clerk at the time of drop-off and he refused to take it, but since my business contact info is listed on the label & internantional paperwork, I'd thought everything was good. It very much was NOT! When I noticed no progress on the tracking, I called to check in on the 26th and the employee that answered was the same man that had initially received my package three days earlier on the 24th. He casually related that mysteriously, neither FedEx nor DHL had picked up ANY PACKAGES for three days, but "we absolutely did nothing wrong", he insisted. I was stunned to be expected to believe that explanation for an "Authorized" Ship Center, so I immediately called DHL customer support and my Account Rep directly to repeat my questions and get real answers. DHL explained that some shipping centers have automatic daily pickup while others have to call to request pickup. Miraculously, my package was finally picked up on the 27th to at last begin it's journey abroad after an inexplicably undocumented and uncommunicated four day layover at Boulder Packaging Center. This is certainly not what I or my customer paid for when we were entrusted to get their package abroad in a express manner. We DO NOT RECOMMEND and will not trust this location again for our business shipping in-the-field drop-offs. It is really unfortunate since we prefer to support local businesses whenever possible. My business reputation cannot afford their lack of professional accountability and excessively casual attitude about their role in getting paying customer's packages delivered on time. FedEx & DHL, you need to check up on your "Authorized" Shipping Centers. Your brand and your customers are not being represented or served well here.

    Tried to order boxes. Called on a Thursday and spoke to Terry who was very polite. He did not…read morehave the boxes at his location, but could get them from across town and I would have them by 11 am the next morning. The next day no boxes yet at 1 pm, called to follow-up and see if there was an address issue or whatnot. Spoke to Martin who was snarky. Did not know why Terry would give an ETA, his driver was out on the road and did not have a GPS so he didn't know where he was (I dunno, can't call him on his cell?) and I should have them within the hour. He also shared some personal information about Terry, which was not at all necessary. Needless to say, the boxes never arrived and we received no call. So, we called Terry on Monday morning and he stated that the boxes are on backorder and will be at least a week. Canceled order and will not be calling again.

The first time I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe he was having a bad day. However today his attitude was so rude I've decided I can no longer do business with this company. "Customer service" seems to be a foreign word with this individual. Additionally he seems to be the only person that answers the phone and he fiercely controls access to anyone else. My requests to speak with any other person were flat-out denied. I have met the owner of this company and he seemed like a nice and professional person. I hope he knows his floor manager is reactive, short-tempered and actively encouraging customers to do business with other companies. Apparently I'm not a valued customer after all. In summary if you are ok placing orders via email, fax, or voicemail, with little to no contact with a human being, then Denver Boxes should work just fine. However you may want a backup box company ready - just in case you are treated so unprofessionally you have to cut all ties with Denver Boxes.
