You are a ROTTEN corrupt company. I unfourtunately have been in a position of not being able to change the location of the EXTRA SPACE STORAGE in FT Lee NJ. I have rented with this corrupt company for 18 years. I have spent enough money with your storage to have afforded a new Rolls Royce Phantom! Twice a year for 18 years you raise the price mid year approximately $100.00 with NO explanation as to why. No letter from your corporate offices in UTAH explaining the reason for the increases and absoutler no increase in services! We ar'nt even provided with a single light bulb attatched to a string inside our units.That pratice is called price gouging! They are also guilty of charging the client an auction fee 4 months before it might go to auction even when it did not but they collected the $120.00 fee without providing the action, that is fraud! These people are only making as much money for themselves, investiors and their partners even when it means cheating their clients! KArma! read more

This company trap you with cheap rates online and then once you sign the contract they increase the price by $100. Call and spoke to a female rep about 2 weeks ago when i got the notification that they increase the price she stated that they can decrease by 150, i was okay. When i went to make the payment they never change anything they lied. When I called yesterday she stated a manage will call me today. A manager called me and stated that they will change it to 170 for only couple of months and they will increase it again. SHE THEN STATED THAT IT WILL CHANGE NEXT MONTH. WHEN I CALLED TWO WEEKS AGO FOR THEM TO HELP WITH THE BILL. read more

5 stars are for the condition and management of the facility, not Extra Space Storage as a company. Caroly does a great job keeping the facility spotless and free from odors! Nobody does it better! As for the company, my storage rate was randomly raised throughoutut the 5 years I was there. I guess their business model is just to raise the rates whenever they can and whatever the market will bear. This time, my rate was raised from $70 to $103, so I'm out! read more

Don't trust - the are unscrupulous - offering a low fee as an internet special, then boosting the price by 50% after you move in ... as little as 90 days later. This must be illegal, or I hope it is, I plan to sue read more

When I was moving from my house, I need to store my personal items. I decided to rent a unit from Fort Lee location their staff is the best and extremely helpful. The Lady whose name is Melissa, she is very helpful and I was very satisfied to had a unit there. It was so clean and well maintained . read more

Extra Space Storage 1415 Bergen Blvd Fort Lee NJ 07024- this locations Standard business practice is raising prices a couple of months after you rent a storage unit. You will NOT be notified and they can raise your rent as high as they want. I was shocked when I saw a 15% increase after 3 months of renting a storage unit here. I called Extra Space Corporate office to complain and was advised word for word as follows: "each storage unit is rented on a monthly basis and each facility is privately owned. Each facility can raise the rent anytime for as much as they would like, NO maximum". This facility raised my rent $55 ( NOT INCLUDING TAX) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED -BUYER BEWARE- DO NOT USE THIS RIP OFF FACILITY. They are unethical and will lure you in at 1 price to unsuspectedly RIP YOU OFF A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER. read more

Update: Just received a reply from "Jim R" of Extra Space Storage next to an inset of a stock image thumbnail of a female. Hmmm... It reads: "We are so sorry to hear about your experience, Bigbox. Please contact us at (888)586-9558, so our team can work with you on rectifying the situation." So I called the provided number only to be connected to a recorded operator asking if I'd like to pay my bill. After bouncing around, it connected to me to my local facility where the manager said they could not help me and had no idea who "Jim R" is. "Jim R" from Extra Space posted the reply to give an impression to Yelp readers that Extra Space Storage was genuinely concerned. If his/her action isn't representative of who this company really is, I don't know what is. Here's the deal: Extra Space Storage is a publicly traded company. That means, their real customers are it's stock holders, NOT its local customers who pay to rent their storage units on a monthly basis. The executives in Utah have to deal with the pressure of delivering on their quarterly results to their stockholders which is why they continually raise their prices on it's storage customers - to benefit it's real customers- it's investors. If they need to raise their prices that often, a couple of things are going on. The company is either in financial trouble, or the executives are getting "Extra" rich on the backs of their "Storage" paying customers. Either one comes off as greedy and slimey. Go with a privately owned facility who really cares about its customers and demonstrates it with reasonable rates. Hey Jim R, say hi to Ken Woolley and Joe Margolis for all of us real customers. When i contacted customer services to complain, they also gave me another story.. i do not know which one is the fact and which one is the main reason to cancel my reservation. I have been with this facility since 2012 and cudos to them. The employees are exceptional they help you right away. Just a heads up they have an app that you can download for free and on that app u can do one time payment or auto payments and you can even put it a moving out date it's so convenient and that's how storage units should be. One last thin on the app if u ever for get you access number it will show and you can have your app set up to have you login automatically. read more

I've been renting storage on and off for 20 years and Extra Space Storage is BY FAR the best i've ever rented. Customer service is exceptional, the facilities are first rate (e.g. you need a code to ride the elevator, a note is made in the system every time your unit is accessed, climate controlled) and it's much cheaper than renting in NYC. I live in upper manhattan and was appalled at the prices of storage units in the area. Extra Space Storage saved us hundreds of dollars! read more

Been using extra space storage in fort lee for over the past 3 years. I must say the customer service is way above par. Had the pleasure meeting the manager, Tim, who was very knowledgeable about the facility and direct with how the entire operation works with payments. Very simple and easy. Just from speaking too Tim you could tell he was college educated and he was very professional. Something I didn't really expect but was happy about. Price is right here and place is secure and clean. Very happy with my choice in Fort Lee! read more
