Straight Scam!! Literally there 2 months and raised my rent by $50 a month. They will put a promotion online which seems good to get you to move in and then raise it soon in hopes it's to much trouble to move out and you will just pay the extra money fee. . Our trailer was vandalized at this property. The insurance care purchased along with the rental space did not cover this. It only covered what was in the trailer. Our property was ruined, we cannot sell it as is, we're at a loss here and extra space does nothing even though it happened on their property. Until they get better security, avoid this location at all costs. read more

I've been here for maybe a little over a year. They raised the storage fee by $10 with him the first 2 months. So mind you I went from pay $74 to then $84 to now having to pay $174!!!!!!!! I had a problem with my storage unit that I just bought and I thought I had enough space but ended up not having enough so I brought this up to there worker Mario he helped me through process of buying a bigger unit and refunding me for the other unit that I bought and even gave me extra time to move everything from one to the other and even share some motivation. This is place trash. I rented my storage so i could go out of town for a few months, I specifically told the counter person I wanted to pay for 2 months in advance. I was looking for a place to store my things and I stumbled upon this place. I reviewed which storage capacity I wanted and the great thing about mine is it has climate control. It's something I needed especially keeping my belongings free from harsh temperatures. I spoke to a guy named Edward. I believe he's the manager at this location. He's a nice guy and very helpful. I am so disappointed right now about this place. We got our RV storage place in November there and were happy. It is hard to find an RV storage place near your home. In January they hiked up the monthly rent already. Although we had an offer for an alternative RV spot in Hollister, we decided to stay at Extra Space because it is closer to our home. Well today I received a voicemail from Extra Space telling us that we have to move our RV out by Mid June, barely four weeks from now and you all know how hard it is to find RV space these days. We got told that I that they have known that for a couple months that there will be construction. They probably knew it when they hiked up the rent to get as much out of us as possible before they close down the RV spots. I just find that very low and dishonest. I will make sure the word gets out what a dishonest bunch of crooks they are. How can you still look in the mirror?? read more

Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for two reasons. First, the mice and their droppings ruined a lot of my belongings. I have put traps over the last 9 months and snagged at least 30 mice.. Second, I notified them I was moving out 2 days after the payment was made,not being able to get a moving truck until then. I asked for some kind of pro rate and they obviously denied me.. Wow $217 for two days of storage.. Maybe I was at fault, for not reading their policies. read more

It was super clean before I moved in and the bathrooms were also very clean (which is always a good sign). The prices are not bad at all. I have stored my camper at this location for 4 years. During that time, I have had my registration tag stolen, my storage compartment ransacked and looted, and most recently the door was ripped open and several items stolen. In that same period the rent more than doubled (25%/yr!). The site is not very secure and their cameras did not even capture the perps, since I was told they do not have IR capability. I was looking for storage space, I called the Extraspace storage on Murray ave, Gilroy, Ca. however the calls are directed to a call center. I was asking about the 10 x 10 unit I saw on the website. Be aware of how pricing changes, I was first quoted 171.00 per month until I mentioned the site shows this unit at 135.00. I get details on what the unit is capable of handling (2 bedroom home) I proceed to provide my information to Cameron in the call center including my mobile number. Not more than 2 seconds after we hung up I get a call from Mike from the site I'm told about a 10 x 9 at 151.00. I inform Mike of the 10 x 10 unit at 135.00 and he says that was rented. Talk about a switch and bait tactic that was freaken obvious. This guy Mike tried his best to BS me that unit just rented and it was in a climate controlled area. But the 151.00 was not that it was a drive up unit and available. So what's wrong with this picture? BS. I hung up with this dude. So I called back to the center, at this point I'm getting a little pived, I spoke to a person who at first identifies himself as the site manager than corrects himself and says he was the manager at the call center. All he did is listen, I'm thinking he may provide some customer service, not sure why I thought I was going to get that there. So now I call back the actual location spoke with a Geno who claimed he was the ASSistant Mgr. I gave him my story he proceeded to give me the BS that He just rented that unit. Tried to explain that unit was a walk in unit and the higher cost 151.00 unit was a drive up unit which was available. Than he lied again saying Mike had just rented the unit which was a little impossible as Mike was the dude who called me. So hopefully all this being said you are able to see the Bull Sh . . . that ExtraSpace Storage on Murray Ave will do to get the most of your money. I suggest 1. Not to do business with this organization as they are a ridiculous organization that has trained employees to lie and get the most from each and every one that rents from them. Note-They do a month to month program which gives them the right to increase their pricing which I was told. That being said you may think that's okay, you just move on to another place. The bigger question how many times are you willing to pack all your belongings again to move to another storage space.   The only reason why this place gets a star is that's required when posting anything on yelp good or bad.   Joe Q read more
