It absolutely was. It was a very large item, and I can appreciate that the job wasn't easy. The issue was the complete lack of professionalism and accountability. Specific delivery instructions had been provided ahead of time regarding where the item was supposed to be placed. Instead, it was left somewhere else entirely. When I later asked why it hadn't been delivered to the agreed-upon location, I was told they had never received those instructions. That explanation didn't hold up. My wife confirmed with Home Depot that the instructions had in fact been provided. So now I'm left wondering whether the instructions were ignored, lost, or simply never communicated to the crew. Whatever happened, the result was the same: the item was not delivered where it was supposed to go. To make matters worse, the interactions with the company were unpleasant from start to finish. My wife was hung up on during a conversation. When I tried to address the situation myself, I was met with a dismissive attitude rather than any attempt to solve the problem. Because the item wasn't placed where it was supposed to be, we ended up spending an additional $200 out of pocket to hire people to move it. Home Depot eventually refunded some of the delivery-related costs, which I appreciated, but that doesn't erase the inconvenience, the extra expense, or the time wasted. Afterward, I read through other reviews and was surprised by how many people described similar experiences involving poor communication, attitude problems, and a lack of accountability. Our experience certainly didn't feel unique. Moving large items is hard work. People understand that. What customers expect in return is basic communication, honesty, and a willingness to follow instructions. Unfortunately, that's exactly where this experience fell apart. My grandma doesn't speak much English but the language barrier proved no problem in the face of Ty and Brandon's kindness. Ty and Brandon were undoubtedly impressive. Professional from start to finish. Crazy strong and fast. They were efficient yet careful. No damage to any of our belongings. Ty and Brandon worked quickly in order to help my family save costs--even doing extra things to help like move a whole fridge to make my life easier. What was estimated to take 3.5-5 hours took the pair of them 2.5 hours. This is with one tall flight of stairs at the old apartment and FOUR flights of winding stairs at the new. Unreal. My family has moved twice before but no other moving company left anywhere near the same positive impression as YouMoveMe. After 17 years, I moved from Pūpūkea on the North Shore down to Honolulu. Not only was I moving myself but I moved my art business too. My moving team Jordan, James and Jakob (I nicknamed them the triple threat ) were absolutely fabulous. My Samsung 55" TV and computer monitor arrived completely shattered. Ten smaller boxes of my china collection were missing, and the pieces that did arrive were broken. These were high-value items, and I was never compensated because the movers failed to put stickers on the boxes -- which honestly felt negligent at best, and intentional at worst. On top of that, around 15 boxes either never arrived or showed up heavily damaged. I communicated with both Hawaiian Movers and the local company, and neither showed any sympathy or sense of responsibility. Their response was cold and dismissive: just "go talk to the insurance company." This happened about two years ago, and I am only writing this review now because I was recently going through my china collection while preparing for an event, and it brought everything back. It still makes me angry and sad. Please be extremely careful if you use this company. Make sure the movers put stickers on every single item and box. In my case, they did not label many of my items, and that became the reason I could not get compensated. Worst of the worst. Do not use them.
