You have to be very careful when talking to customer service, they will start charging your card without fully understanding what you want and somehow you will be at fault when they charge you the wrong price. I am shocked at how they treat people, didn't sit right with me. After botching my reservation, they still expected me to pay the $29 that was supposed to credit towards the rental. They claimed they could not transfer that to the new lease agreement, because it was already linked to the lease was wrong... makes no sense. I still wanted to work with them, but they refused to add that $29 credit to the new lease.. and out of principle why would I want to work with them. After demanding my money back in and dropping the business relationship, I am so relieved I do not have to communicate with them any further. I don't know if the girl I talked to was new or what, but the company should be understanding of miscommunication and stand by their mistakes. Easy for them to not own up to mistakes when your card has already been charged. I would honestly just avoid this spot, glad I didn't sign a lease with them. Ended up with with a much better company, whose reservation process was easy and cheaper. Look elsewhere unless you enjoy headaches ;)

I moved to another unit but lost the expense rug since it could not be repaired... made matters worse my renters insurance didn't cover it since they looked at it as negligence on the part of CS and so upsetting... CS Managment did do anything either so I was just out on many fronts... To top it all off, as many have already said, they increase their costs too damn often it's insane... sure understand things increase but this is ridiculous... such price increases don't even make sense except just price gouging and feeling like they are holding us hostage in a way! I'm still using them but as others have mentioned, I'm not happy with their price increases either... 42% increases are to damn much!

I feel it is also secure. Cons: They constantly raise their rates usually around 16 to 24%. On the unit I have, they just raised the rates (again). From last February 2024 to this February 2025, my rate has gone up 42%. When I first moved in, they had seven carts to help you move your items. Four have gone missing and have never been replaced. Now when I go there, I sometimes have to wait awhile for a cart, or leave and come back. And last, of the two elevators, one seems to go out of service every so often. I can deal with the elevators and the carts, but the steady increase in rates is too much for me.

Peter & Dennis have been very helpful to me as well, carrying boxes I've purchased to my car and always with a pleasant smile. Just moved in here last weekend from the disaster of a storage place right next to Fairway Market…read more(you know the one I mean). Not only is CubeSmart cleaner than PSS, but having to use your code to have elevators stop on 2 or 3 makes it pretty hard for a random person to get up to the upper floors. I like that the doors open completely flat, you get to use every square inch of your unit unlike places with a roll up door which eats into headroom. I also like that you don't have to buy THEIR lock.

Once you add mileage, taxes, insurance, gas, etc etc etc you talking over $100 to drive it around the of block. Pay attention and ask questions about the contract you are signing they explained it all but most people don't listen and can pay hundreds for just holding the van a few days. But I needed to pick up a 600 LB treadmill and take it 5 miles, and I was back with the truck in less than 2 hours. I got no hassles, hidden surprise fees and was a happy camper, ah, I mean happy treadmiller.

I've used Manhattan Mini Storage for years and never had any serious issues. However, with the…read morechangeover in management, the quality has plummeted. We had to deal with a mouse infestation across the basement level at the 524 West 23rd Street location during mid-December 2022. There was an overpowering decay-like odor coming from a nearby unit for at least a couple of weeks, yet management didn't take any decisive action, which led to the infestation affecting more than a dozen units. They moved us out of our unit and into an upper level, while we literally dodged mice running back and forth between units. Their apparent lack of concern and zero urgency to deal with a public health hazard is totally unacceptable. They just gave us masks and gloves to deal with the cleaning ourselves. Even worse, over $1K of our property was destroyed by the mouse infestation due to management's lack of activity for weeks. Once we discovered the infestation, we immediately asked to submit an insurance claim and were told by the employee on site that they were out of forms and we should email later. We have emailed the loss details multiple times to management and while they eventually confirmed receipt, they have otherwise ignored our insurance claim (3 weeks and counting). Avoid until they get their act together (if that ever happens).

Got a 10x10 unit in November 2016 after having unit(s) in Extra Space Storage in HoHoKus for 10…read moreyears. I THOUGHT that I'd feel safer in a place with gated access, but this past winter the entrance gate was broken for about 6 weeks...basically ANYONE could drive in and enter the building where the storage units are because once inside the gate, that's it, no more security. I started to notice that the fire doors on my floor were ALWAYS open. I reported it. I was told by a manager that someone was just being lazy. Well that someone seemed to always forget every time I visited because they were always open. Like other comments, they raised the rent frequently, so they sucker you in with a low rate and make it up pretty quickly. Also the cart situation, frequently NO carts to be had, people left them on the floors. In September we had a sudden cold snap so I went to get my out of season clothes and met a woman exiting the elevator with a broom and dustpan filled with mouse dropping's from her unit. Yup, I'm outta here! Luckily just up route 46 is CubeSmart, incredibly CLEAN and SAFE. You need a code for the gate AND the elevator. Got there early Sunday to move in and the office staff was walking the hallways picking up trash and sweeping.
