Storage companies are all organized crimes, the elite set them up to steal from the less fortunate, I give them lots of credit for how brilliant they are and have no morals or conscience. I'm a single mom with a couple little kids, I recently had got evicted and I stored my belongings in the Simi Valley location, BIG MISTAKE. I want everyone to know is that this companies KNOWS the value of your belongings and they will do anything to get you evicted so they can auction off your stuff. I had stored my furniture there for about a year and I would pay in 3 months increments, always cash and I got to know the employees pretty well and they are very nice. It was shortly after Christmas, I was waiting for my student loan to pay my storage, I wasn't even a month behind and they auctioned off my unit. CRAZY! They will tell you that they called you or that they mailed you notices but this is not true, they never call nor mail notices. I had a $20K value of furniture and they sold it, they wouldnt even let me get my personal belongings that BY LAW they are suppose to let you keep. The reason they are able to get away with this is because they know we won't be able to hire a lawyer because we are broke citizens in need of storage. The company doesn't care to auction off your stuff, they have no morals but the only thing that keeps me sane is that GOD SEES EVERYTHING AND THERE WILL ONE DAY BE CONSEQUENCES. read more

While I absolutely hate moving and my latest move tested my patience, yet again, the silver lining in all of the moving adventures was finding Extra Space Storage. The reason my latest move was a bit more of a pain than usual was that I must have overlooked the fact that my new building offers zero extra storage space so I was left scrambling to find a storage unit, the day I moved in. Luckily, Extra Space Storage is only about 10 minutes from my apartment and their helpful staff had a storage locker reserved for me and ready to go after just a few short minutes in their office. The reason Extra Space Storage is so great, besides the fact that it's clean, well-lit and secure, is that it's so well run. The people in the office seem to be on top of everything and have even called me two days before a payment was due to remind me that I had yet to make a payment, so I could avoid late fees. My personal belongings were stolen here on August 5th 2011. What was taken were clothes, a macbook, electronics, school textbooks, high school yearbooks, family photos, birth certificate, passport, large amount of cash, and pretty much everything I owned except for furniture. Everything was in duffle bags, one duffle bag with my name embroidered on the side, roller luggages, and boxes. All my things were left on the sidewalk outside the garage gate on Kansas st. I was the guy in the white t shirt who was irresponsible that left it there for 5 minutes. If the person, or people who took all of this and want to do right by God, I will be forever grateful if you return it to me. If you don't want to return the cash, that's fine but see it in yourself to believe that you returning everything will be a blessing to me. I needed a space ASAP late in the day. I walked into the faciltiy and was greeted by Derik. He stopped what he was doing (it was near closing time) and he helped me choose the right size space and fill out the paperwork. He explained very clearly the facility hours of operation and hours for the office. My moving truck arrived later than expected and he extended the hours of the facility so I could unload the truck. I was amazed that they were able to help me solve my problem. During the transaction, I purchased some supplies that I did not need and was able to return them without difficulty. The facility was spotless -- no trash or funny smells like I had experienced at other storage places. At one point, I lost the key to my lock on the unit and they quickly were able to help me and remove the lock. Other storage facilities should take lessons from this place -- they are awesome. GREAT LOCATION (17197 Valley Blvd. Fontana); was just perfect. The facility was very organized and clean. Both individuals, Joe Cao and Becca Reed, were very professional; provided all the information I needed and made me feel like one of their own. If there was anything I needed assistance with, they were all ways willing to help; even recommending at one point that I down size on storage in order to save on cost; now that's doing what's right for your customers. I cannot believe that with the virus spreading that extraspace will not shut down and try to help their local communities. It shows in these times who actually cares about the communities they work and run in. I will not be using this place. They do not have the supplies to clean their businesses and are encouraging people to come in. Terrible experience!! I booked a vehicle storage unit online in an emergency, but the next day they demanded extra requirements never mentioned on the website. Their customer service is unprofessional and careless. In 21st century, when everything can be handled remotely, they forced me to waste time and come back in person. Their online booking is misleading -- avoid this company. read more

Renting at Extra Space Storage on Cesar Chavez has been a family friendly space. Oliver is an awesome manager who has helped me when I have questions. terrible. they raise the rent every six months the bathroom is always lock. can't find the manger to unlock for you they have a water hose but can't use it the water even when it's 100 degrees outside so if your dog needs water you can only look at it. the company are a bunch of losers. read more
