Words -- nor star ratings -- can communicate how much I regret storing my belongings at this place. I was ROBBED. Cleaned out. I had an interior unit in the climate controlled section. Irreplaceable artwork and belongings were being stored there short-term as I moved households, since I thought it would be safer and the artwork required climate control. No one other than my spouse and Extra Space knew the contents were even there. But whoever stole everything had to take MULTIPLE TRIPS in a large vehicle in order to get everything out. Coincidentally, the security cameras were "on the blink" that day, and the backup/dvr/whatever system they have also mysteriously wasn't working. To say I was crushed would be an understatement. And the manager Cindy -- who seemed to think I should have sympathy for HER since "she" was upset too -- had no answers when drilled why her security measures were useless. When they sell you the unit, they tell you that alarms go off when door goes up if dial-in code is not properly entered when you go in/out, but what they DON'T tell you is that they do zero about it when any alarm goes off. So even the fact that their records showed the door alarms went off multiple times, the thieves seemed to KNOW there would be no one checking on them, and they could happily do their multiple trips to clean me out. To quote Cindy: "The alarms go off all day all the time. We can't possibly check on any of that!" Enough said. No amount of insurance could compensate. Want to store something you care about? -- Store it elsewhere!!!!!! I won't even bother to comment on their crazy rate increases . . . read more

Complaining and talking bad about things she had no business speaking of. I own a moving company, and was moving a client out of two units here, so we experienced her for a 6 hour period. Received notice from them that they are going to construct a new building in the rear parking lot beginning July 15 and if I don't remove my vehicle by the 13th they will have it towed. I can understand that they may want a new building, but they have certainly known about this for quite awhile if they are starting construction in 28 days and common courtesy would have been to provide parking spot renters more advance notice without the threat of towing. read more

By far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. From the facilities manager CINDY, to the District Manager MIKE Hurst. Do not be fooled by their 4.5 star reviews. I usually do not feel the need to complain or write bad reviews, but what I am about to tell you will help you see why. Due to tough times my father was in a rush to move out of his apartment (financial issues). His good friend bought him a storage to store his personal belongings. My dads friend got him the storage on 3/14/2016, and you would figure Extra Space Storage would offer a 24-48 hours access for new movers (like most storage places do). That wasn't the case, on 3/15/2016 my uncle, cousin and myself spend the entire day making trips with my dad loading his belongings into the unit. Around 930pm we arrived back at his storage unit with the last load. An older lady (customer) informed my family and I that we should unload the truck and leave the items on the ground to take our truck outside the gate. She stated that she had to leave her car overnight before because she stayed 10mins past 10pm (closing time). We thanked her for the heads up and did what she said. Here is where Cindy the manager that lives there comes into the picture. We walk back to the items that we unloaded outside the storage. We continued to load up the cart and make trips to the storage (inside the first bay). It was 9:58pm and Cindy yells and my uncle, cousin and I saying "you guys need to get off my property or I will call the cops on you". I am going to be honest on this entire situation. Cindy Is a Caucasian woman and my family and I are Mexican (I never discriminate, in this case I felt judged for my family and nationality). My uncle who is a recovering alcoholic doesn't really speak well (being that he is older, and due to his alcohol use in the past). My uncle and cousin were scare of the cops being called on them so started walking down the ramp to leave the facilities. Mind you there truck in on the other side of the gate, behind Cindy. I tried to talk to Cindy, but when I was walking towards her to talk she walked away (later to find out that she said she was "scared and felt threaten"). My cousin and uncle leave, while I stay behind to finish loading in my father's belongings. I get to the final box and Cindy yells at me saying "I am calling the cops on you". In the upmost right respect I explained to her the situation, she told me "I have guest over right now and do not have time for this, hurry up and leave my property". I was able to speak with Cindy on this matter early this morning, as I stated she said she felt threaten and scared. Yet we didn't say or do anything wrong towards her. She also accused my uncle and cousin of being drunk just based off of there image. She also told me she heard yelling from us, I asked her what we were yelling but she couldn't tell me anything (she made it up). Cindy also said that she didn't no if we were stealing or if we even belonged there, mind you this was our 10-12 trip there throughout the day, and we never took anything from the place only loaded stuff in. I went through the appropriate channels to make a complaint on Cindy. The lady that I spoke to on the phone from Extra Space Storage was appalled with how Cindy threatened and treated us, so she filed a report to the District Manager Mike Hurst. Mike was extremely rude and disrespectful to me on the phone, he told me that my father or I wasn't welcomed to the storage and ended the call by saying I am not a paying customer to him and hung up on me. Little does he know that I actual have two storage units at a different Extra Space Storage location, which I will be cancelling this weekend as I move my stuff out. Mike and Cindy have horrible customer service skills and are quick to yell and raise their voice. I DO NOT get how either of these two individuals are in management roles. If I could I would try to go above Mike and speak to his boss but don't know how. I felt violated in so many was, but mostly felt that I was judged do to being a Latin American male. read more

My experience with this storage facility was absolutely wonderful until the store manager by the name of Cindy Hallam completely ruined it. I called to reschedule the "Free Truck Rental" on the morning I was supposed to pick up the truck. Something that should have only taken 5 minutes turned into a 15 minutes of rant from her. I tried to tell her if no suitable reschedule date can be arranged, I'll just pick up the truck as originally planned but she cut me off mid-sentence every single time. She repeated more than a dozen times that it's not a truck rental, it's a vehicle being loaned. Who cares? Extra space storage offered "Free Truck Rental", it's what's written on the flyer, and all I wanted was to reschedule. Sure enough, the new date I insisted on her asking for was already booked out (at least according to her), but she went ahead and cancelled my original booking anyway. What bothered me even more was the fact that I had to call her back a couple of hours later to find out what she's done. Apparently, she "had plans" to call me. Sadly, her condescending, arrogant personality turned something so trivial into a crisis. She failed to possess even the most basic skill in customer service: listening to the customer. She left me with no choice but to cancel not only the truck rental, but also the storage lease I had originally signed with her employer. Judging by the number of previous complaints she's already had, I truly hope Extra Space Storage does something about her before she leaves this company's reputation in tatters. Update: Got a call from the district manager, Mike Hurst, after I filed a formal complaint. He started the conversation by asking "how can I help you?" as if he's never read my complaint. His understanding of the whole situation was apparently: "you couldn't get a free truck, so you got upset". I asked him to read my online review and he flat out rejected. I was not surprised at all by Mike Hurst's attitude since another Yelp reviewer has already warned about him. I don't know if this company's problem is just Mike and Cindy or its culture in general promotes hubris over humility. I guess the only way to find out is to escalate the issue to another level. read more

Was professional quick , Chritina was worth the time it took . We arrived at 11:30 she showed us our unit told us all the rules then she took us to the offices we did all the paper work and drove away with our unit info in hand at 11:55 was that fast enough for you .I did other storage in the past and I can tell you. Moving is challenging time for everyone. I picked this location for the proximity to my temporary home and my business. Right after I reserved my storage space online, a person called to welcome me and suggested to come in to see the unit to make sure it will fit my needs and to take care of rental agreement instead if doing it on the day of the move. I mentioned I used the handy online tool to estimate how much space I needed but they reassured that if it turns out I needed more room that they will have another space ready to add. The facility is ultra clean, they have alarms and sprinklers on the units, they explained the check in check out and the staff are really friendly and informative. They thought of everything pertaining to the storage that would help make my move go smoothly and reassure my stuff are safe. And that is just wonderful. After I move my stuff to my new home, I will certainly use them again if I need storage in the future. I highly recommend them. read more

Cindy the manager of this facility has very poor customer service. She always has an attitude while talking to people. I don't think having new business is of importance to this lady or this company. I would not recommend this facility to anyone unless they enjoy being talked to in a very condescending manner. My advice to the company is choose the managers with an extra ordinary customer service skills not with lack of customer service skills. We can get better customer service at safeway by a cashier rather than your condescending manager Cindy. read more

This facility is well administered, clean, secure and very friendly. We would recommend it for it's easy access from the freeway and it's spacious layout. I am unhappy with their policies and the management who won't explain the reason behind them. This storage company recently got bought out from a private business to a chain storage facility. They require way too much personal information and the manager won't explain why merely says it is for "safety" and if you don't like their policies you can leave. I have used this place for years without all my personal info. but now they want my birthdate, a copy of my license, my insurance policy, car's VIN #, and even my fingerprints. It is too much and the manager has a bad attitude on top of it. Also the office is not very secure. File cabinets don't have locks on them. Computers could be easily stolen as both doors are made of glass. Their policies are over the top and put my personal info. at risk. read more

I have been with this facility for about 3 years now and though it was easy to get in and the rent was reasonable they are always raising the rent once your in. I would suggest if you do get a unit from this place that you pay at least a year in advance so you don't get hit with rent increases for a while. They had just raised my rent 2 months ago and now they are raising it again another $30.00 more per month. I have had about 5 increases so far. I was told that they do this when they do an assessments on other storage facilities to see what there prices are so they can stay up with the current prices. They then force a rent increase to there customers and this forces a lot of them out because they cant afford the increase. Therefor opening up a space for new customers at the going rate. This is how they make there money by rotating people in and out. Needless to say I will be moving my things out this weekend. All I can say is ask questions before you buy....GOOD LUCK!! read more
