Around 3 PM, an employee approached us and aggressively rushed us to leave and move our cars, repeatedly telling us to hurry or we would be locked inside. She spoke so loudly and angrily that her voice was cracking. Rather than simply informing us that the business was closing, she pressured us to leave immediately. At first, I honestly thought she might be having some kind of episode because of how aggressive and angry she was acting. I later learned that she was an employee. I asked for her name because I wanted to know whom I was speaking with, but she responded, "Off the clock," instead of identifying herself. I completely understand that employees need customers to leave before closing, but there is a professional and respectful way to communicate that--especially to customers who had just arrived and were unaware of the closing time. I would have appreciated simply being told that the business was closing at 4 PM and that we needed to move our vehicles. The entire interaction left me feeling rushed, intimidated, and unsafe. Unfortunately, this was a very unpleasant first experience.

From the moment the call was answered, I was met with an extremely rude and hostile individual named Ray. He immediately spoke in an aggressive tone and threatened to evict us despite the fact that our unit had already been paid for, and also threatened to call the police. On the first day, we asked for his full name for proper identification. He refused to provide his last name and only stated "Ray." During the same interaction, after refusing to give his last name, he hung up on my partner and then blocked his number, which was extremely unprofessional and alarming. The following day, I called back and was able to get through, and the same disrespectful behavior continued. My partner's number remained blocked, which made the situation feel deliberately unprofessional and discriminatory rather than a normal customer service interaction. This experience was extremely upsetting and stressful during what should have been a straightforward moving process. Instead of receiving assistance, we were met with hostility, threats, and a complete lack of accountability or professionalism. There was no option for escalation, no willingness to provide proper identification, and no basic customer service standards followed. I have never experienced anything like this in any service setting, and it reflects very poorly on the facility as a whole.

So in approximately seven months, my rent has gone from $125 to $210, a 68% increase overall, with two separate increases in less than a year. I understand that the rental agreement allows for rate adjustments with proper notice. However, two increases totaling 68% within approximately seven months is extremely excessive and reinforces my concern that this is simply not a reasonable way to treat a new customer. I've asked the manager to please reconsider this rate increase and I was completely ignored. I will be moving out. This place is terrible.

I paid annually with a regular rent increase of about 3-4% per year. Cube Smart bought the storage facility in October of 2018 and all hell broke loose with significant and frequent rent increases. Now they will no longer allow you to pay more than 2 months in advance. Why? Because this way they will be able to increase your rent at will every 2 months. They just increased my monthly rent 10%!! I am now paying $550 a month for the same unit that I rented back in 2015 for $165 a month! They will lowball you to get you to rent a storage unit and then they aggressively raise your rent every few months. They know people are reluctant to move out to get a cheaper rate elsewhere. Calls to company managers are not returned. There are many storage companies to choose from. Unless you can tolerate hefty increases there are many other reputable storage companies out there with better terms. I am still here but not for too much longer.
