This is my first time renting in Scotts Valley and I chose this location for the convenience, reviews and the prices. I highly recommend Extra Space at this location. Securing a new place was easy online and I received a gate code via text. Entering and exiting was easy. The first time I came on site, Richard checked on me to see if I needed anything and I appreciated that. They have two large carts for transporting goods from your vehicle to/from the storage location. Mine was inside access. At a certain point I realized I needed extra space and Richard was helpful over the phone to find a space near my first one. After calling around to every other storage facility in the area, I was discouraged with the choices that were available. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to finally end up having a conversation with Tiffany at Extra Space. She was very attentive, helpful, and understanding. She helped me sort out my options and decide on a unit size which ended up being perfect for my needs. I would definitely recommend extra space to a friend based on my interaction with her. Facility is nice, but after 4 months of use they gave me 30 days notice that my rate would increase 100%. When I first moved in they told me after 9 months I might see a slight rate adjustment but they increased the rate as much as they could as soon as they legally could. Doubling my rate after 4 months is not ok and should not be legal. read more

We used the Scotts Valley facility for a medium size locker to store our garage contents as a result of the CZU Lightning Fire. Signing up and getting into the locker was effortless and all done via phone and online. Getting to the facility from our place in Live Oak was very easy and quick. Facility was always clean and certainly seemed deserted when we were there, which I personally like. I called after we cleared out the locker and took the lock and once again, the whole process was quick, painless and done via phone and online. I highly recommend this facility. read more

The Scott's Valley facility has later hours access than most storage facilities which was perfect for me. It's clean and well maintained. Communication was always good with the office and they're were never any surprises. They made my "stay" there as easy as one could expect. read more

I quickly needed a storage unit and was able to get one here same day. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was also the cheapest I found on short notice anywhere in Scott's Valley. The storage unit itself wasn't the best but it made due. I didn't care for the fact that they do not have a light inside the actual unit so I had to balance a flashlight while moving stuff around. Additionally, in the smaller unit I had (5' x 8') there were beams that lined the floor and the walls which technically makes it's smaller than advertised. The last thing that I was confused about and didn't like is they advertise the first months rent free, but I paid the first month and all other months I was there. When I went to cancel my unit, I did it online which was very easy and smooth but it said I would be prorated for the last month. When I went into the office to let them know it was empty, they didn't say anything about getting the prorated rent back. To be fair, I never asked about the free month or the prorated money back at the end but I do feel like it is their responsibility to go over those items when signing up or leaving. Overall, I would probably rent here again because it was easy. read more

This review is long overdue, as I've moved my stuff out of my little locker 6 months ago. Overall, I had a pretty good experience with this storage place. The location is quiet, the whole place is gated, and the premises are clean. All the people I interacted with were friendly and helpful. For three years, I harbored my collection of books, china, and all things knick-knacky in one of their 4' x 10' cells. I only stored things that simply wouldn't fit in my 650 sq ft dwelling I share with my husband and 4 cats. But after annual (and sometimes bi-annual) price-hikes, the cost became prohibitive. I removed all my possessions, thanked them for a lovely 3 years and took my stuff back. Now, I must either find a cheaper storage solution, or simply fight my own sentimentality and downsize. read more

My move in was very fast and I was quite nervous at the time but Zenda was so helpful and reassuring.
