These guys are THE BEST! They had to coordinate moving 2 giant pianos between 2 different cities and 3 houses! These guys came to my place first: were on time, super friendly, organized, and CAREFUL w themselves as well as the cargo. My house has an OBCENE number of stairs, which they navigated w care, managed not to bump or scratch anything AND not to hurt themselves doing it. The price was comparable to better than 4 others we called and previously dealt with. - To compare, my piano was moved a few years by a pricier Irish company in San Francisco w great reviews and "experience moving pianos". There were 4 of them but one was a skinny teenager! They also dented my piano in 4 different places, bumped into a wall, and never held up their "guarantee". LOOK NO FURTHER, of the movers I have dealt with in the Bay Area, I give these guys A+ on all fronts. read more

Update: Just finished unpacking and a $2k bracelet given to me by a now deceased loved one (kept securely in the top drawer of a chest that had everything else still in it) is NOWHERE in my belongings. These movers are the only people who had access it it, they need to be in prison. Hired them for a 3rd time to pack and move this weekend. This time they left behind an entire kitchen cabinet of belongings. They also cause damage to a wall in my never lived in, brand new apartment. While they were still in my apartment, they promised to make things right. Talk to them the next day and the story changes to "the damage was already there." Okay, that's why there's paint on my dog crate lock and the hole in the wall that they are disputing has a hole the same shape as the lock Mistakes I can forgive and forget, dishonesty is inexcusable. You lost a customer who has been very good to you over the years. Hope it was worth it. read more

In-town move but lots of stuff (and 50 stairs to walk down). Took 12 hours but movers were friendly throughout. Pricing was very straight forward and reasonable. I had one small issue where our custom made king sized bed was missing one of the feet when it came over. I sent an email on a Sunday and they sent someone out the same day to take a look. They took part of the bed back with them and two days later came back and re-installed it (no charge) and made sure everything was solid (and that the under-storage drawers worked). ALSO, they promisedAre you kidding? Two Jackie Movers showed up on day requested yet apparently had not been informed by the office of what I was expecting. I'd been to their website, and the photos led me to believe I was hiring an EXPERIENCED moving crew. The guys were nice and quick; minimal time was lost getting furniture and large items down the stairs, yet when I saw how they'd "protected" some of my most prized, delicate, Big glass Italian cabinets when unloaded at the other end in my temporary storage unit, I almost cried. ONE sheet of plastic wrap just to keep the door from closing, and NO bubble-wrap or other protection??? ALSO, the Jackie Movers office person I spoke with -- and the services on the landing page of their website -- promised to professionally accomplish, use and provide certain clothes boxes and packing materials, as needed. NADA. The crew showed-up with nothing. I gave each of the boys a $50 tip on top of the +$770 for JACKIE MOVERS, THEN inspected the state of their work. Incredibly disappointing. I called and told them. They said they'd come out again to the storage unit and pack/wrap the precarious and fragile furnishings that OBVIOUSLY were not protected, yet I had to pay them another TRUCK FEE -- ANOTHER $155 just co come fix what they were supposed to accomplish in the first "move". I tipped the workers, anyway. It wasn't really their fault. Sorry. I will NEVER use Jackie Movers again, nor can I recommend them. They are inexperienced, albeit efficient yet not to the standards one would expect when looking at their website nor when speaking with management at thier office. read more

Sweet talk till you have a problem , they don't even answer the phone. I used them to move from S S Francisco to the East Bay, they quoted me $1300 , It took them 2 hour to take the fridge out of the house and damaged the door , when I called to file a claim , Anie to me you have the basic coverage you should read the fine print , the fridge is brand new and I paid $1600 , she said we will pay you $0.60 / pound witch means $181 . The movers are clueless and they have NO knowledge of how to handle furniture. 1- Damaged Fridge 2- Broken chairs 3- Broken Vase and kitchen classes DO NOT recommend them at all. read more

Rating 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5 We were moving from SF to Oakland and I contacted Jackie movers for a quote via Yelp. Manuel was very responsive and gave me a quote for min 2 hours which included gas and 2 movers. The time started when they arrived for the move and ended when we were ready to pay at our new apartment. This was very reasonable as I know many other moving companies charge for the duration of the roundtrip which I think can be unreasonable. They also had all the packing items such as blankets and dolleys but we ended up packing everything ourselves to save time. He ended up sending 3 guys and didn't charge us for the miscommunication which I really appreciated. The move for all of our stuff ended up being 3.5 hours but based on the quality of service and care that they took to move everything without damaging anything, I was really happy. They also did a better job at moving a couch and chair than the original delivery guys. It's hard to find good movers who won't break the bank! Super happy with these guys. read more

The movers were late by 40 minutes and were working super slow. It took them more than 3 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment with not much furniture other than a bed. I've used two other movers in the past and it took less than 2 hours on both occasions. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is they handled electronics and delicate things carefully. Overall, I must say that they are one of the better local movers I have used. I have used Chinese movers in the past, but they are usually unprofessional and they always have the nerve to demand a big tip. So, when Pineda Paz showed up on time, with the proper equipment and dressed professionally, I knew Yelp had come through with another one! I did have so much stuff that they had to call for reinforcements. But, they still charged the same rate for the additional manpower and I was moved within the same day. Granted a few boxes got crushed and I remembered a broken object or two, but that's to be expected and nothing major went wrong. I will use them again in a few years. read more

The movers were on time, very professional and did the job really well. The reason I took away one star is because their final bill amount was a bit fuzzy and they could not properly explain several items on the bill. When we questioned them about it, the guy who gave us the bill spoke to his boss on the phone and removed several items from the bill which was a bit weird. They charged us ~$525 initially and after some discussions where we merely asked them for an itemized bill, they changed the amount owed to ~$470. But other than that the move was quick and easy, and the movers were friendly. They moved us from a 2 bed apartment in Sunnyvale to Mountain View in ~3.5 hours. Phew! Moving is never fun!! I picked Jackie Movers out of 10+ movers because of the reviews. I had chatted with Anthony (owner?) couple of times before making an appointment with them. Pros: 1) Movers were very friendly and nice. 2) They used moving blankets for TVs and other electronics. Nothing was broken. Cons: 1) Movers didn't have any tools like screwdrivers, drills etc. I would think tools are the first thing they would carry. Good thing I had them. 2) One of my painting (55') went missing. I do not know if it was misplaced or something else. 3) Cost: It cost $1000 with tips to move from SJ to SF for a studio apartment. I was surprised to see cost for moving tapes and blankets added to my final bill. Most of the movers provide them for free. I had to use my own mattress protector because they didn't have any. There was a delay on my side (parking and freight elevator) for one hour so I can't really complain about the cost. Overall, it was a positive moving experience. One last thing I would say is add $200-$300ish to the quote you get from them. read more

Moving is never fun. We had to move our office over holidays and I assumed, I will not find any movers due to holidays. So went on Yelp and asked for quote from probably 11 companies (used Yelp's feature asking for quote) First company to respond was Jackie Movers. I talked to Manual about moving our small physical therapy office. He confirmed with staff and called me back that they will be there arround 5 pm. about 3 hours later. Jose and his coworker showed up at 5.10pm. (estimated time of arrival 5 stars ) They loaded truck and we moved stuff from Los Gatos to Fremont. (5 stars for skills,, hardwork and taking care of all stuff) Everything went as planned. On phone he gave me estimate of $545.00 but it took less time so it was calculated accordingly. (5 stars for proper estimate) Could have been better: I was not informed on phone about 3 hours minimum, double driving time, material charges and fuel charge. Which came to me with surprise when Jose (who was at sight and main mover) asked me to sign form. I signed it as I was in need during holidays it was late in evening and didn't have much choice but it would have been better if these charges were informed on phone. So later when I texted Manual about it, he sentme attached picture. Summary: overall it was great experience. I will use them again. I used to find movers from Craigslist. They were cheap but I always had anxity about their reliability. Now Jackie Movers  card is in my roller deck to use them again in future. Awful experience. Have no idea where these 5-star reviews are coming from. First, they arrived 4 hours late, without contacting us to at least let us know they were behind. Scheduled for 1pm and arrived at 5:30pm. Spent 20 min on the phone alone giving directions because they couldn't find us. Things got worse when they didn't have the wardrobe boxes that the lady on the phone had just told me they would the day before. At least will give the movers themselves credit for getting to work right away and working hard when they arrived. After driving 20 min down the freeway to our new location, they disappeared. I called to find out they were stranded on the side of the road because they had ran out of gas. WTF? First, why didn't they call me to at least let us know what was happening, second, what kind of moving company runs out of gas??? It's not like we were moving across state lines, we're talking 12 miles down the road, and they ran out of gas?? Someone from the company brought them gas and bailed them out, they finally arrived 2 hours later (it's dark outside now) to finally unload and you can imagine how exhausted and over it we all are by this point. Again I'll give them credit for getting into gear to help unload but of course a lot of our wooden furniture ended up covered in dents and scars from rough handling. After all this they had the gaul to ask us to pay them an hourly rate including the time spent stuck on the side of the road. We said hells-to-the-no, and ended up paying only for the actual hours worked, which their boss was agreeable to, and for this I give them 2 starts instead of 1. My impression is the crew looked way over-worked and were being given and unreasonable workload, so I think the vast majority of the blame resides with the company's manager and leadership. They entice you with a well-below average rate, but then you get what you pay for. Trust me, after this experience paying more is worth it. read more

We renovated our house and had to move in and out in the span of a year. The first time we used different movers and it took forever. They were taking breaks all the time and got slower as the day went on. Pretty normal I thought -- moving is hard work! On our return move, I chose Jackie Movers when the first people we used were not responding to my emails. I was really blown away by the difference. They moved all our stuff faster than a blink of an eye and with only one tiny scratch on our table. They didn't waste a second and mostly wrapped the furniture well. Found them on the better business bureau and verified them via the CA public utilities commission (proofs of insurance etc). These guys had the best pricing of all the reputable professional companies (I reached out to around 15 of them). They were prompt, careful, and were able to handle a complicated move that involved multiple loads to different locations. read more

I will not be using Jackie Movers ever again. Here's why - 1. They are SLOW. I mean, really really SLOW. Watching them made us feel like their legs were encased in concrete. That is how slow they are. It almost felt like we were getting ripped off in front of our very eyes by these really slow movers who ended up charging us an arm and a leg with a bunch of HIDDEN COSTS that are not highlighted as part of their amazing sounding "95/hour for 2 people" deal. 2. They charged us $45 bucks for a driving time of "30 Minutes" to cover a distance of 2.5 miles! I was flabbergasted as to how a moving truck can take 30 minutes to drive 2.5 miles that should normally take 5-7 minutes. 3. They wanted to include their 30 minute lunch break in the total number of hours taken for the move which is very unprofessional. I had to remind them several times to subtract the lunch time from the total number of hours that the move involved. 4. HIDDEN COSTS - They charged us 120$ for scotch tape, shrink wrap, mattress covers for packing up the furniture. OMG. If you are considering using them, better get your own packing materials to save yourself a bunch of $$. 4. We initially wanted the 2-person crew for 95/hour, which was reasonable for moving a 2 bedroom apartment. After arriving and starting to load the truck, they insisted that they needed another person and got a 3rd additional person at 45/hour. Even with 3 people to do the work, they took 7.5 hours to pack and move a 2 bedroom apartment into a townhome. What should have normally taken a skilled 3-person crew 3-4 hours took Jackie Movers DOUBLE the time. DOUBLE TIME means DOUBLE COST for us. We ended up overpaying by nearly 50% because of how slow they were and all the HIDDEN COSTS involved. We have several data points for reference which reinforce that Jackie Movers are SLOW and end up costing more. - Another friend who also used Jackie Movers had the exact same complaint - that they were really really SLOW. When paying on an hourly basis, it really hurts the pocket to see movers take 30 minutes to transfer one load to the moving truck. - A friend moved from a 2 bedroom apt to a single family home with a different mover and they took 3.5 hours for the total move, including an actual drive time of 30 minutes! Stay away from Jackie Movers unless you prefer slow moves and enjoy overpaying. read more
