Wednesday, October 15, 2025 I arrived at this place and the workers were all outside smoking. I had a partial tint done to my front windshield, after I got my car back and I got in it, I noticed a razor blade in my cup holder that was laying on its side. The inside of the car was very dirty, the dashboard had a bunch of water spots, I sat in my car and noticed stuff on my radio that was never there before. The chemicals they used tore off some of the film on my touch screen radio. I noticed this and went in, one of the workers came out with some cleaner, he told me to talk to the owner. I talked to the owner and the owner said that it was wear and tear because my vehicle is a 2013 but it wasn't there when I took it in. They showed me a video of them putting a drape over the stereo then I requested to see the video of the removal of the old tint on my windshield and I haven't received it. I asked for my money back and the owners are insisting that it isn't their fault and they told me to google why the spots were on my radio. Like just own up to your mistake and on top of that one of the workers told me that the owners decided that they wouldn't give me my money back because "they aren't responsible." The damage wasn't there before so my radio didn't magically wear in a hour timespan. They are very rude and unprofessional and unwilling to help. I highly don't recommend going to this place, it is a waste of money and time. read more

Got a quote from this company for window tinting and it was reasonable, so I made an appointment. I was getting the windows done on a 4-door Honda Civic. When I arrived that morning, the girl who opened the shop was rude to me, telling me that what I was requesting (35% tint, since that was the law in the state my car was being registered in) was a waste of my money and it would look like nothing was done. I told her this was the law in Alabama, where my car was to be registered, and she reluctantly agreed. I was told the day before that the tint would take 2 hours to be complete, which was fine, since I had to wait. I ended up being there for over 3 1/2 hours with no explanation as to why it was taking so long. Whoever tinted my windows, left foot prints all over the back door and didn't even attempt to clean the dirt off. 2 weeks after the tint was done, there were still tons of bubbles on my windows. I called and was told by the same rude girl that I would have to bring my car in and they would decide if they were going to fix it. I told her that I didn't have the time or gas to drive the 30 minutes to their shop, just to turn around and have to come back another day, so I asked to speak to the owner. I explained to the owner that I was moving out of state and wanted the issue resolved before I moved. He "claimed" that the bubbles were because the weather was cold and said they would go away in a couple of weeks (I've never had this issue with windows that I have had tinted in the past). He recommended that I turn on the rear defrost to help heat the window and cure the tint. Well, 8 weeks later and I STILL have bubbles in my tint and I have been living in a warm climate for nearly 4 weeks now. I called last week to request a refund and was told that the owner was "supposedly" on vacation, but that a message would be given to him and he would contact me to fix the issue. A week later and I still have not heard from the owner. So now, I'm not only out the money I spent at this company, but I'm going to have to pay to have the tint removed AND reapplied by someone else. read more

Got a response to my first review from the owner about how they have good reviews and that nobody was rude to me and that I damaged the tint which is why they didn't warranty my tint. This is BS. I explained to the owner's wife that I cut the tint off the corner earlier in the weekend so when I rolled my window down it wouldn't peel further. She didn't look at it again or miss a beat and told me it wasn't covered. Multiple cars tinted there and no consideration or understanding given. No warranty stipulation instructions given just a not covered after a two second glance. Poor customer service. Rude and arrogant ownership! read more

Look, I can't speak to Extreme's ability to sell cars or their window tinting capabilities or their ability to lay graphics. I think we all know that buying a used car from ANYONE is a big risk. It is my understanding that they are under "new" management so maybe that explains the discrepancy in service "I" had compared to some of the others reviews on here. I will also say that the company has 70+ reviews on Google and they have a four star rating. So, can so many people be wrong? Not likely. First off, how I even got to Extreme is a bit of a long, winding road of a story that I won't even go into, but let's just say that Josh, who drives a wrecker for Joe's Garage & Whitlow's Towing recommended them to me and I couldn't be more thankful to him (I'll be writing a separate review for Joe's). As soon as I entered, Jen, who I assume is part of the management staff, greeted me and asked if I was the 'guy with the Maxima'--Josh had called and let them know I was coming over. Jen couldn't have been more congenial and they literally got right to me. Chris is the owner of the shop and he has his dad Bob help run the shop. I didn't talk to Chris, but both Bob and Jen were perfectly lovely and affable people to do business with. Now, for the man of the hour. Ed, who is my new favorite person in the world, would be taking care of my car for the day. Ed is like the long-lost dad or older brother I never knew I always wanted and he has the wit and mechanical aptitude that makes him a force of nature. He has a firm handshake and speaks directly and there is nothing ambiguous about Ed as a man and a mechanic. Quite frankly, he's kind of a captivating spitfire. He wears a cowboy hat and sports a gray beard and looks like he should be singing country melodies down in Nashville, Tennessee, but his star shines bright right here in Plainfield, In and it is as bright as the yellow paint which graces the outside walls of the unassuming and low-key shop that is Extreme Auto Sales, Service & WIndow Tinting. And, if I'm being perfectly honest, the name of the business doesn't do it justice strictly from a mechanical perspective--at least, auto electric. Ed understands electricity better than Doc from 'Back to the Future'. I bet you anything Ed could 'wrangle' 1.21 gigawatts in his sleep. You probably think I'm being superfluous but I'm really not. I won't drone on about Ed's expertise and go into great detail about how he explained to me the electrical problems I was having with my remote start and how it related to other factors with the car, but, just understand this: Ed knows his shit. Seriously. He explains everything in layman's terms and he's not some shade-tree mechanic who doesn't know what he's doing nor does he upcharge for services performed. Straight shooter from the bottom of his soul. And, frankly, that's what this is all about. It's not about haggling to get the best deal but it's about fostering good rapport with someone who wants your business as much as you want their expertise. I've had other mechanics basically dismiss certain electrical issues with my car or they didn't diagnose it properly or they underdelivered or underperformed but with Ed, and Extreme, you get what you pay for. I guarantee you it would've cost me several hundred dollars more at most other shops to fix what Ed fixed on my car because they would've told me that I needed a new ignition system or I needed a new aftermarket auto-start system or I needed new plugs and wires and on and on and on. Ed fixed everything lickety split. It's great to find a good, honest, competent mechanic, but it's even better when that's attached to such a wily, dog-loving, old-school, interesting storyteller named Ed. Ed, you're a good egg, and you made quite an impression on this middle-aged codger who needed a good dose of humanity today, because sometimes I have my doubts about where we are headed in all of our lusts for things that are not sacred. This shop, to me, embodies the American spirit of the small business owner and its contents and the men and women who do the toiling day in and day out. There is a good deal of humanity and well meaning people at this shop and it was refreshing to be embraced by it for a couple of hours. I will not soon forget this five star experience and I couldn't be more thankful. As Nathan was checking me out of the shop, I inquired about their online presence and such, and told him I was going to write a review for them. He said they had some bad reviews on Yelp which took me by surprise. I hope this review for the business suffices, Nathan, and I hope others get to experience the professionalism, honesty, and great customer service I did with your business, because from my vantage point, it represents the backbone of what small business in America should and can be. Bad customer service! Jennifer the lady that runs the place is a whack job.She's very untrustworthy and a liar. I spent a lot of money with this place only to be treated as if they were doing me a favor.I brought my car in and had to wait until it was done so it's not an opinion this is fact. They treat their white customers better than they do the black ones. If you are a black person do not bring your car to the place.The old white man at the counter is very rude and I know he's a racist by the way he kissed the white guys ass who came in after me. First off, i have not left a unsatisfactory review ever. But, the way the "General Manager" made me feel was very unprofessional, by telling me "i had an attitide when i walked in the door". What what?!!! Honestly, i was just explaining in a mild manner i was unhappy with my window tint, an i would like to resolve the issue by getting the two window redone that i am unhappy with. Me being the unhappy customer you would think it would this small matter would be resolved considering i just paid. 250.00 for the whole car (small car) an im am just unhappy with the two front windows. Instead the GM proceeds to explain to me why would he eat that cost because i was indecisive an now unhappy thats my problem. So, the owner offered a "deal" pay another 50.00 to re-tint the TWO windows so i am now at 300.00. Wow! Its not worth paying this much for poor customer service, unprofessionalism, nastiness, rudness. Its worth payless somewhere you know if ur not happy theu fix it woth no problem.
