We were out of town my father-in-law suggested we take our RV to Big O Tire for 4 new tires [we had a blow out on the way to Indiana] We bought 4 new tires for the rear. When we picked up our RV there was greasy handprints all over the RV, the door, steering wheel and the key. We had to clean the steering wheel door and the key before we even left. We're getting the RV ready for another trip I was going to check the air in the tires and 5 of 6 of the valve stems are not accessible. since this RV has chrome wheel simulators we had to jack the hole RV up remove all the lug nuts and turn the simulators just to put air in the tires. something that should take 45 minutes took 2 hours. If you don't care anymore than that about your paying customers vehicle's thy should just close. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I coud leave a -5 review. read more

My aunt has taken her car to this place for oil changes the past 2 years and ever since then problems have cascaded. Her oil was bone dry as if no oil was put back into her car just 2 weeks after the oil change ( no leaks). The oil was dirty ( most likely recycled oil) has been put into her car and ruined her engine. This place needs to be inspected or shut down. read more

Pros: While on the road yesterday I came in looking for a tire rotation. The shop was extremely friendly and got me right in, a definite plus. The waiting area was clean and organized, things I look for when I'm on the road. Price quoted for the rotation was more than fair on a big tire pickup. Cons: I asked for a "x-pattern" rotation and said to leave the air pressure alone at 50 psi, the max for a Load Range D tire. I ended up with a front to back rotation (no crossing) and my tires set at the vehicle inflation sticker 70 psi front/80 psi rear. I was down the road a mile or two and spent 20 minutes airing down the tires. Will the tires live from this?...well yes. I'll have to do the next rotation sooner rather than later to keep the tread wearing where I want. I'm more discouraged that they didn't listen to what I wanted, then inflated the tires wayyy over maximum for the load range...which is specified right on the tire. A decent local shop all in all, I'm not mad, not happy either. It is what it is. read more

Stopped in mid-morning on a Saturday. The amount of vehicles out front didn't indicate how truly busy they were. We took out spot and got comfy for the hour-long (or so) wait. The waiting room is equipped with coffee, magazines and other weirdos. The main guy on duty, Chad, I assume is a manager, but if he isn't he should be. He really kept things running smoothly, quickly navigating between the front to help his customers and the back to lend a hand. He was great with juggling the people, making sure they were happy. My son had a tire/rim stolen from plainfield, in. Good solid place for work they do. However, I had to take my truck back a few days later after they checked my brakes. Lug nuts were way way too tight. They posted the torque at 130 but probably like anywhere else they just squeeze the trigger on the air ratchet and done. Every shop does it. read more

From my initial call inquiring about a set of new tires and the $70 off ad I'd received in the mail to checking out, I experienced excellent customer service, especially from Ryan. I needed new tires and I was initially planning to get a set on Black Friday, but my Dad had come to town for the holiday and requested getting it done the day before Thanksgiving instead. I called Big O Tires because they were less than 10 minutes from my home and I had a coupon I found in the mail. Ryan answered the phone, helped me figure out what was best for me, what I needed and assured me I could get the tires and installation done that day. After doing my due diligence and checking with other places, Big O offered the best deal and promised to be most timely. I called Ryan back, he happily to me to come in before noon and he would have the vehicle ready by 3pm. In the shop, Ryan showed me a sample of the tires I would be getting, walked me through the process, took my keys and confirmed he'd give me a call when the work was done. Around 2pm I received a call from Ryan, there had been a mix up. The tires I purchased were actually not available, however, Ryan called a different Big O, found the right size tires I needed but they were of a different brand, a better brand actually. Ryan called to inform me and get permission to make the switch and assured me I would still be charged the original quoted price not the substantially more expensive price of the tires they ended up putting on my car. Additionally, they still finished the work that day, before 5pm. I will absolutely return to this shop for future vehicle maintenance needs. read more

I went to another shop in Indy and got quoted an almost $1,000 repair estimate (and they charged me a $60 fee just to look at my car to give me that estimate). The first place (NOT Big O) told me I needed all 4 brake pads and rotors, plus both front calipers. When I took it to Big O in Plainfield, they gave me a free estimate. Thankfully, I got a second opinion at Big O - it turns out I only needed 2 front brake pads and 2 front rotors. It all cost me $300, parts and labor included. My significant other has taken his car to Big O in the past and he's only ever had great experiences here. It's a bit out of the way for us, but with the service and honesty that this place can offer, it'll be worth the drive for future repairs. read more

My Toyota suffered a wheel malfunction while getting a new set of tires at a competitor's store located just a few doors down after 4 pm on a Monday. A lug for a custom wheel was broken while trying to remove the wheel and required repairs that the shop didn't possess the skills or tools to perform. After calling several places with no luck, I made contact with Ryan at Big O Tires in Plainfield. Ryan said bring it straight in and they'd give it a look. We took it to them and they quickly started working on it. The lug was so damaged that it required a blowtorch to remove the broken piece. Ryan and his crew accomplished this without any appreciable discoloration of the wheel itself. In fact, it was done quickly enough to allow us to return to the original store to get the tires we had already paid for installed on our car before they closed at 6 pm. Next time, we will go to Ryan and his crew for our automotive needs first. Great team. read more

Let me start with the most important info in case you're in a hurry. If I could give 6 stars I would. I've been going here for years. The customer service you get at this big o is not even comparable to what you get at any other service garage. I stopped in one day about 10 years ago because I had a flat tire. About an hour wait to get it looked at. Understandable. Since it's walking distance to several business and they offer to drop you off and pick you up on top of that, it was definitely no big deal. When it was ready, they told me I had a nail in the tire and they fixed it. I inquired about the price. NO CHARGE. what? Really? Fast forward 10 years and 4 vehicles, I've been here several times for the same service. Always the same result. Now a days, I live about 30 miles from this location. I recently got a flat tire. I installed my spare and drove here. It's worth it. Do they have the best price on every service? No. But they have proven to be 25% cheaper on major repairs, perform these tire services for free, and are market priced for other services. Plus you get outstanding service and an answer you can trust and believe. So, I make my way here for every service that doesn't require the dealer. If you need ANY work done, check here first. If it's a tire issue, don't even consider going somewhere else. read more

I have to give these guys - Ryan and his coworkers - a HUGE thank you from Kansas! We stopped in here a few minutes after they had just closed at 5pm, urgently needing a tire repair. We were traveling back from Lancaster, PA to Kansas. One of our tires had a recurring Tire Pressure Warning Light. (Thank heavens for these new safety features!) Tires often need a pound or two of air once in while, so the first time it came on, we didn't think much of it. When it came on a 2nd time the next day we knew there had to be a slow leak of some kind. We stopped at Walmart. Walmart declined to repair the tire and instead tried to sell us a new set. Mind you, these were fairly new Michelin tires worth about $150 each. I've had this response previously on a different car at Walmart, so I think perhaps Walmart's policy now is to push new tires only and not to repair anything they haven't sold. I think now maybe Walmart will be my last choice for tire repair! Big O had just closed, but offered to look at the tire anyway. We explained we were several states from home and needed something done since we still had hundreds of miles to drive in the dark. They had the tire properly repaired to DOT standards in about 15 minutes, and declined to charge us anything because it was after hours. So guys, here's your payment-in-kind! The store gets 5 stars, my car dealership- not so much. Apparently the new vehicle has a specialty tire that requires a specialty fit. So when I got a nail in the side of the tire- it was a special order. The dealer was useless-- and could get me a tire in 4 days maybe so "drive careful and check the air". Across the street I go, they can have my tire tomorrow from their warehouse- $30.00 cheaper. The sales person/installer hands me a card- with a cell number and says if I have any trouble on my way home to please call them if I need any help? Really? I was completely stunned, I've never had this type of service. Sure, that's not typical of a chain, not required, but something that might have been a random kindness. About 2 months ago I ran over a huge pothole on 465.... next day tire flat. Was putting air in the tire for the longest time daily, so I said time to call around for replacements after being told both rims were cracked. Called Big O and talked to a Ryan... patiently fielded all of my questions... gave me sound advice over the phone. Finally my daughter and I take our vehicles in for service, we needed everything sad to say. Ryan and his co workers helped with quotes on oil changes, filters, tires, rims, brakes and rotors. After thinking it over we decided to get what Ryan recommended because for both cars it was way too costly. Ryan was shown tires we picked out and he showed us why we should choose another tire for more safety and to be cost effective in the long run. Much appreciated. Big O Tires: a Big O Help to road-trippers everywhere! I have been gearin' up all week for a road-trip to Nashville, Tennessee and the top of my To Do list was to get my car checked out before hitting the pavement. I had been to a different Big O Tires on a work-related mission before and had a positive experience, so I decided to give the Plainfield guys a try. While I cannot remember the name of the mechanic who helped me out, I cannot forget the smile he and his coworkers put on my face as I left. Other auto care places have been full of BS, the sales guys try and sell me extra parts & labor that my car does not need--and for the stuff it DOES need--they over charge. When I go to get my car looked at, I know what I want and I do not want to be pitched any extra add-ons. The Plainfield rep I dealt with was a very straight-shooter and got the inspection I requested done quickly and efficiently. There were a few other cars in line when I brought my car in, but I still managed to be in-and-out within an hour or so. It was the perfect amount of time for me to walk across 40 to Chik-Fil-A for a bite, chillax for a few minutes, and make a phone call. Once the inspection was finished, the rep came out into the lobby with a visual diagram of my car's alignment and brake systems (among other variables). I had never had a mechanic provide me with a diagram before, and it really helped me see that the one thing needing fixed, the alignment, did indeed need to be fixed. The inspection was FREE, and the re-alignment was $69.99. My bill with tax was $85 and some change. I walked out of the door without breaking the bank and having confidence that my car was road-trip ready. The mechanics weren't bad to look at either while I waited...helllOOOO EYE CANDY. --I hope that last statement did not negate the credibility of my review. Seriously, these guys are great. Well......that wasn't what was advertised. The dual signs over the garage door say "10 minute Oil change" Don't believe it, once they have your vehicle you are at the mercy of "you'll get it back when we get around to it" After 45 minutes, and my truck sitting in the back for 25 minutes, I asked how much longer. Finally got it about 20 minutes later. Drove it 3 miles home, my hands covered in oil and grime. Door handles all grimed up, steering wheel grimed up, nice set of oil hand prints. Update: I got a call from the store manager, and discuss my experience. While we can't change what happened, the call went a long way. My suggestion: explain to the customer that the tire rotation will take longer.... read more

I've found that in the industry of car maintenance/repairs, if you find a place that has always done right by you, stick with them. I've had my car serviced here a few times now (dead battery once, oil change twice, new tires) and the staff has always been exemplary.
