Do not ever use this company! They came out to my home to do a pre-summer check-up on my AC unit. Th serviceman led me to believe that my unit needed to be replaced, the Freon level was extremely low and left me with a $10,250 proposal. I decided to get a 2nd opinion - and I am glad that I did. The condenser motor needed to be replace, which he did while he was here. There was nothing wrong with my Freon levels. My total bill was $100 - quite a bit different from the $10,250 proposal. I have been using Extreme Comfort Air Conditioning and Heating for over 5 years at two different houses and I do not use anyone else. At House number 1 they installed two new complete Carrier HVAC systems including furnace and compressor and they had the best price I could find and they did the entire install 3 days after they gave me the price. On my newest house they came out and services my AC unit that was not working and they dispatched the service guys the same day I called them and the outside temp was over 90 degrees. Date of Transaction: 07/30/2021 Business committed to repair nest thermostat and burned transformer fuse. Dispute: After initial inspection, Extreme comfort company falsely mentioned that transformer module and contactor not working where only transformer fuse burned and nest thermostat issue. Company over estimated and gave me invoice for $690 at the end of service and I felt its pricy and when I ask for payment options since am not in position to pay $690 upfront then Extreme Comfort gave me option to pay full or revert the service with replacing new parts with old parts and pay only service fee that is $29.00. I agreed for paying service fee and replace new parts with my old parts and then paid service fee. Later called my house builder for second opinion and builder found and showed me that AC furnace broken and transformer fuse stolen, contactor stolen and transformer broken and this is surprise to me and never imagine that any responsible A/C company can steal the things and broke the wiring system. I called the Extreme Comfort company then they admitted that damage done purposefully because i choose the option for paying service fee on reverting the work. I never imagined that any responsible companies will damage/steal the parts if not willing to pay over estimate and choose the option that company it self gave and its total ridiculous. We have lived in our house for about 4-years and one AC condenser and coil seemed like it was put in 30-years ago based on how poorly it cools, but I guess we are thankful to have gotten 4-years out of it. We looked around a lot trying to get the best company to do the work of giving us the best price on a new condenser and coil and installing it and THE BEST COMPANY for us is Extreme Comfort AC & Heating!!! From the beginning of the process with my very long conversation with the owner, Marc B., it was obvious that Extreme Comfort was the right choice to replace our AC condenser and coil. Marc is extremely knowledgeable about all things HVAC related and was very kind and patient to answer all of my questions about what we needed and how the work would be done, but more importantly what WE DID NOT NEED. Unfortunately, I've grown a bit skeptical of getting taken advantage of by different home systems repairers or installers. This was absolutely NOT the case with Extreme Comfort AC & Heating and I am thankful to Marc and Earle, Extreme Comfort's estimator (my terminology), for giving me that piece of mind. Extreme Comfort's job estimator, Earle E., came by our house exactly at our appointment time and was extremely helpful in answering my questions and was very efficient in determining exactly what equipment we needed. Earle also was helpful in explaining why we didn't need a redundant air return in our hall when each adjacent bedroom already had their own return. In the end, Earle helped us save quite a bit of money and we got a much better system than proposed by our other AC company bidding the job, BY OVER $800!!!! It is the very next day after agreeing on a new condenser and coil and Extreme Comfort's installation crew got here early and installed everything and had it all set and ready to go within 2 hours! The guys got it all done much quicker than I thought it would take and were very courteous. On the installation crew, I primarily dealt with the tall young man with a beard and glasses and he was very polite and, like everyone else at Extreme Comfort, very professional and knowledgeable about the work he and his crew did. Great to have such excellent employees like this installer. Thank you Marc, Earle and the two installation guys for getting our old dying AC system replaced quicker than I hoped for and at a price over $800 cheaper than the price quoted by our original AC company! Earle came out today and spent about an hour thoroughly looking over my entire HVAC system. Instead of trying to sell me an expensive new system, he patiently showed me how to operate the dampers to control the airflow to trouble rooms upstairs. I've had three other contractors out and none addressed this simple solution. A couple the dampers were completely closed off and although I attempted to adjust them in the past they were stuck because of excess mastic. I have had several experiences with Extreme Comfort. The first one went well. Technician show up on time, identified the issue, wrote up an estimate and performed the work as advertised. The second one didn't go so well. Same tech came out. He inspected the system and told me that I had two issues. First, the condensation pan was rusted out and needed to be replaced (easy enough) and second, the drain line had to be cleared. He tried to locate the drain line unsuccessfully and told me that I needed to call a plumber. The next day a plumber came out and located the drain line. He was unable to clear the line since it was less than 1.5" and told me that I needed to contact the AC company because I had no drainage issues with my sink and washer in the utility room where he traced the drain line. He offered to speak with the tech from Extreme Comfort. So I called and asked for the tech. Mark, one of the owners, took my call. I explained the situation and he refused to connect his tech with the plumber. In fairness, he offered to pay for the plumbers trip charge but told me to find another AC company. He refused to acknowledge this could be an AC issue. Needless to say I was shocked how he managed the situation. Obviously, I will never use them again or provide a referral. read more

The services requested were discussed with one employee. The actual confirmation of schedule was discussed with one of the owners. The owners now claim to have not been informed of the requested services. That failure to communicate was partially my fault for not verifying that internal communication was accurate. Rather than own up to their part of the mistake, they prefer to play the innocent. If a unit is potentially damaged, or could be during handling, would you expect an inspection? I love these guys. They installed my new compressor over five years ago and it has been trouble free. This time, reduced airflow through a dirty filter caused the unit to ice up. They did not charge for the first visit because they could not do anything until the ice cleared. The next day, they double checked to make sure everything was fine and moisture free. In the process, they noticed it was not draining right. Since the old drain exited into who knows where, I asked them to install a new one. I just finished with a service call that I made to Comfort Air Conditioning. The worker told me immediately that I needed a new Copacitor, and that it would cost me 285. I told him that I didn't think the part cost very much money. Howard told me that yes, that was true, but that he would have to put the part on, and that was what the major cost was for. Less than 10 minutes later, he had the part on, and told me that I needed to add freon to make the air cool. I asked how much freon that I needed, and he told me at least 2 or 3 pds. at $125. I told him that I would seek help elsewhere. He became very rude, and told me that this was the cost of running business. I believe that there is a cost to run business, but I also believe that when you charge $285. for less than 10 minutes of work, you are gouging your customer. Just run. You will be better off. I signed the check and was not thrilled with the amount..but it's august and my family was hot. It's now 7 months later. I had to have another contractor come out to fix the same issue. Extreme offered to replace the part under a 1 year parts warranty but not the labor. I was able to trade the blower motor for a new one under warranty at the local supply where they bought it and had one of their competitors install it for 1/3 of what they quoted to fix it UNDER WARRANTY ! I was not thrilled to find out that the guy I had spoken with on the phone while this part was being replaced in August was the owner and from what I was told by their supplier this morning, most of what he said was completely inaccurate. I hope he was mistaken and not just outright lying to me. There are too many other HVAC guys out there that are much more competent. I am not wealthy. I have two young kids. With what I paid in August and today, these clowns cost my family almost exactly $1,000 more than if I had used the company of comparable size who had to replace the same parts this morning for me. When my AC fan motor broke this morning, I called Extreme Comfort after seeing their coupon in the Ad Pages Magazine. I'm glad I did. Mike came out and immediately diagnosed the problem. I have a 33 year old unit and he gave me the option to fix for the time being or completely replace. I cannot afford a new unit now, so he repaired the fan motor, capacitor, and cleaned the coils. He was very professional and friendly. His service was very thorough and he was punctual. I am glad I found them because the price was reasonable. We got at least 8 or more other bids before settling with this company. Although pricing was similar to all the rest, what made them stand out was not only did they offer the average 10 year parts warranty (they all do) but also included 10 year labor (most only include 1 year labor) and a discounted 10 year service contract rolled into the cost. After deciding to go with them they came out the next day to complete the job. Very easy no stress process which I appreciate so much. Cloths were put down throughout our main floor to protect them from foot traffic and everyone was careful to close doors when coming and going. We were having a sewer problem at the same time and these guys went above and beyond to help keep our house cool given it was draining to a sewer line clogged with roots. I have lived in my home for 24 years and over the years have used a number of different Heating and Air Conditioning companies to service my two systems (I have used 10 different vendors in that time and never found one that I felt comfortable with). In October of 2015 I contracted with Extreme Comfort to replace my downstairs heating and A/C system. They gave me a competitive price (I had 12 vendors give me quotes on replacement systems), they did good quality work, (The inspector from the City of Plano commented on how clean the installation was both from a not leaving any material behind and how efficiently the connections to the Duct work, Electric and Gas line joins were). The installation was performed in October of 2015, I just had Extreme come back to check out both of my systems after having run the most recently installed one for almost a year. Humberto Ruiz was the Technician sent to check things out. I have never seen a HVAC technician take the care and methodical approach Humberto did when checking out my systems. Humberto labeled which unit in my attic was for the upstairs system, which was for downstairs system. Humberto checked out all of the electrical connections to make sure nothing was hooked up incorrectly or was showing signs of unusual wear. Humberto checked all of the joins to the Intake and Outtake vents to make sure there were no leaks. Humberto also labeled which of my compressors was for the Upstairs and Downstairs units. The Report I got showed me what the charge levels for each of my compressors is. I was really impressed with how methodical Humberto was. I have finally found a HVAC company which I trust and will continue to service my systems going forward. read more
