    Energy Savings!
    Ken P.

Prime AC has amazing people and the best equipment. Morgan our estimator was through and very detailed. This detail made comparison shopping against other equipment a breeze. I took bids on thirteen units (low price, medium efficiency & high efficiency) from four different companies over two days. It was a beating doing this but all the companies were well rated across several platforms. Prime's pricing was not the cheapest but was actually the best value for a 4 Ton 17.1 SEER2 Multi-speed system. The biggest issue for us was that our home had a blocked air return from the day it was built?! We always suspected it but they confirmed it with a picture from inside the return. In addition we added a new return from the far side of the house as the temperature had always be very unbalanced. Even though the season was getting busy we were able to pick a convenient time for the system switch out. The crew arrived promptly at 8am and worked through until about 10pm. With redoing and replacing ductwork taking 70% of the day. It was a lot of ductwork! After a few days did have a subtle sound issue they fixed immediately when I contacted them. The new cover was vibrating at certain speeds. Took only a few moments for them to tweak it. It has been two weeks since install and the system is virtually silent. We are looking at basically 1/3 the energy usage from our old worn out 13 SEER system. It had been tuned up and maintained well it just could be but could no longer handle the Texas heat. Check out Prime AC's YouTube channel to see their crew and the process. It helped immensely.

Important note: This company was bought by Dunrite Heating and Air. Please read their reviews…read morebefore calling this company. Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Please read their reviews before…read morecalling this company.  I had a terrible experience with this company and was eventually forced to file a credit card dispute because I was charged for services that never got started. So the problem I wanted to get addressed was that the exhaust pipe from my attic furnace was collecting condensation and causing a leak. 1. Initial Visit: A technician came out to diagnose the issue. He said that the pipe had to be replaced due to rust and the cap had to be added to the roof end of the pipe because it was completely missing. He charged me $3000 for replacing two sets of pipes. I thought it was expensive but went through with the transaction because of the high reviews on yelp. 2. Failed Service: On the scheduled date, technicians arrived but refused to replace the pipe because my roof was "too steep." I was told they would reschedule with a crew equipped and willing to work on steep roofs. 3. No Follow-Up: The company never rescheduled this service. I tried calling them multiple times but the only response I got was that they would call me back. (the customer service rep was kind and responsive) Do not use this company if you want reliable service or basic communication.

Parts were ordered. Monday I get a call from Allie explaining how long it would take to get the parts from the manufacturer & when to expect my AC to be fixed. Allie was friendly, kind, compassionate, & helpful the few times we spoke. Excellent customer service! The following Monday (yesterday) Arturo came to replace the coil in my attic. I was told in advance that it would be an all day job. No problem. Arturo walked us through & showed us the problems that caused our AC coil to need replacement once the old coil was out. It was fantastic getting a mini teaching lesson about home AC. He took the time to explain the possible issues with the unit outside too. At the very end we ran into a problem. Arturo said he would be happy to stay & troubleshoot, or come back today. No point to come back out even though he'd been working all day. He quickly found the problem & the AC was up & running. Kudos to Arturo! I know nothing about AC repairs, but the cost was reasonable to me. I actually had to raise my AC a few degrees because my house was so cool this morning. Humans & dogs are very happy.

I chose Comfort Land because I related to who I communicated to and was able to establish good communication with them at a, albeit weird hour (Saturday night 9pm). The person I talked to, Will, was very upfront about the pricing. The price was 49$ for a diagnostic visit. I also asked if there was a cancellation fee in case the AC worked itself out, no cancellation fee, and he also recommended some YouTube sites to see if some of the basics could be ruled out on the costumer side. I appreciated that and after doing some price comparison with 2 other companies, one of which tried to upsell me on a yearly plan, I decided to go with Comfort Land. I confirmed the appointment time on Sunday and on Monday they came early afternoon. I was not here when they originally came and my husband interacted with them, he had a favorable opinion. I had done my own research that morning and realized that the problem was likely inside the house since the outside unit was spinning normally and the refrigerant line was cold, but nothing was blowing in my house so I thought it was likely a motor blower issue. they confirmed that they found that the motor blower was not working. they also said the auxillary drain pan was very rusted (like around 2-3 feet of rust on the pan) I like that they documented everything very well and showed and emailed us pictures of what they found in our attic. I felt very comfortable and confident that they were honest and did a good evaluation. They called and had a motor blower and new drain pan delivered from their storage facility and I think the two of them waited outside the house for like 90 minutes for it. I think they came around 1pm, and left around 5 pm after installing everything and left after they made sure the AC was working, including measuring the temperature that came from the AC. In regards to the pricing: It was 2600 to replace the motor and change the drain pan. I did a search on HVAC subreddit and it seemed like that price was reasonable. My husband and I are very grateful for their prompt service, their handwritten evaluation that not only evaluated the immediate problem, as well as overall health of the AC system we had and the degree of wear and tear on some of the other parts. I feel comfortable recommending this company to friends and other people. Please keep up the good work everyone!

One Star Review !! This company installed an entire HVAC…read moresystem, including a downflow gas furnace converted to propane, and the experience has been exhausting and deeply concerning. Before installation, we verified in writing that all manufacturer-required conversions and post-installation testing would be performed. Despite that assurance, the system was installed without proper downflow and LP-specific setup and verification, even though propane systems require additional configuration and confirmation. Midway through the installation, the crew advised that the system's electrical amp requirements exceeded what the home could support -- something that should have been identified before selling and installing a full system. We were then presented with an additional ~$8,000 upsell to address an electrical issue they had not previously identified. The brand-new system is experiencing repeated lockouts and safety-limit faults. Required post-installation testing was not performed, allowing the system to overheat under normal operation and sustain damage, triggering repeated safety-limit faults. This led to multiple return visits and proposed component replacements tied to improper installation and configuration, not equipment failure. One of the techs stated that they only do testing if there is an issue later and not right after install. In addition, new hallway carpet was damaged during installation, adding property damage to an already problematic job. What's most troubling is that this company will promise the moon and sell you a great system, but then fail to install it correctly, properly commission it, or provide complete startup documentation afterward. This was not a partial repair -- it was a new, full system installation, making the lack of proper planning, setup, testing, and care unacceptable. If you want HVAC competence and integrity, go elsewhere.
