As a single working mom it was becoming difficult to find a martial arts center that worked with my work schedule. This studio does kid classes in the pm at 6 and it was perfect for us. Great place for kids and adults! My daughter and I have learned a lot since we started going to Extreme Martial Arts! We are getting the exercise we need that we can't get at home during covid. The staff are more than willing to work with me and my health problems to make sure I have a safe experience. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. They work with you on scheduling times and are up front and very clear about prices from the beginning. They have worked with me on rescheduling several times and I know a few people who also go there that had to put payments on hold and return at a later date. Every time my wife and I showed concern they were not learning anything we were assured they are making excellent progress and to give it time (then they would advance them a belt or stripe giving false reassurance). It was difficult to actually addend the sessions due to the extremely small practice area mixed with overbooked sessions and lack of seating. Here are some of the other reasons we recommend avoiding this place like the plague: Belts: The belts follow no tradition order. The training does not follow and is not recognized by tradition karate, kung fu, krav maga, or other world recognized standards that I could find. The belts are not based on experience or capability but on length of time you attend. In other words, you could come here with years of experience but you will advance at the same rate as someone with zero experience. Fitness: They tout fitness and health. But the severely overbook the classes and the idea of fitness is static stretching for at least 15-20 minutes of a 1 hour class followed by running laps around a small mat as a group at nothing more than a swift walking pace. This is followed by contests like trying to make your peers laugh while remaining serious or watching the team leaders show you moves. Membership: What you really pay $300/mo for is a once-a-week 30 minute lesson with an older student on the payroll that has successfully made it through at least 3-4 years of paid lessons. They have no real qualifications, or recognized talent other than being around for a period of time. They do not challenge the students, they do not push them, and they do not push any real values or discipline. What I mean is it is nothing more than overpriced day care for what is actually taking place. Still on membership, be very very careful. First they lock you into a minimum of a 12 month commitment. They claim to use a "billing company" but this billing company is actually a collections agency that takes a sizable cut of the fees ensuring they can hide behind them for customer service and billing issues which happen quite often. This is supposedly a small local business but they hide behind this collections agency with the threat of negative credit reporting when you are ultimately dissatisfied. When you do eventually cancel they will charge you for 1 additional month of fees and welcome you to attend the additional sessions for that month, but will reschedule last minute, dirty looks, shunning, and overall make you clearly feel you do not belong because you have cancelled. By cancelling you are the outcast. Lazy, incompetent, you have dishonored them in some fashion. While you are there paying them, best friends, once you cancel, you are the enemy. Lastly I encourage you to pay close attention to their other reviews. At the time of writing this, many of the reviewers are employees or the owners themselves. Others are friends of the owner that help with their tournaments and such or have received free membership in exchange for the positive feedback (they had a sign in the lobby for free swag in exchange) If this does not deter you, read your paperwork carefully, and good luck. After finishing our first year at EMAC, I am still as pleased now as I was 6 months ago. My son loves the instructors, they are fair yet hold him accountable for the choices he makes. Sifu truly cares about his students and their families. I am pleased to say that because the training has been so good for my son, I started training as well. Its been good physically and mentally as a single mom to have the outlet for stress and learning skills to protect myself. For any families looking to add martial arts into their lives, I highly suggest stopping in for a trial class. BEWARE- BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE For an art that values integrity, this place has NO integrity and horrible business relations!!! I was a fool and did not pay attention to the reviews before me that warned against these people's top priority being that of making money!! I was supporting a youth who wanted to get involved in his community. After a few months of weekly lessons they encouraged him to become more Involved by singing up for Their 'unlimited' martial arts program which really just ended up being one extra class per week and a cost that tripled from $45 to $150 per month which I was okay with because I wanted to support this youth in pursuing his passion. So I signed up for a 6 month contract and was verbally told it was a six month contract as I was signing . I trusted these people and believed I was signing up for what they told me I was signing up for. Some major life circumstances occurred in this youths life that prevented him from finishing out his contract and when I tried explaining that we needed to suspend or pull out of the contract I was told that the youth was lazy and that was not an option. And the owner Seafood Ramen and his sidekick were both so rude and aggressive over the phone. Fine, we'll pay the remainder of the contract even though he would not be able to attend any of the lessons. THEN I come to find out that this contract automatically renews unless you send in a written letter to a third party agency Affiliated Acceptance Corporation (check out their own scandalous business approach http://m.ripoffreport.com/r/affiliated-acceptance-corporation/sunrise-beach-missouri-65079-9001/affiliated-acceptance-corporation-improperly-billed-extortion-blackmail-and-intention-to-259522) that they use for billing. Did any one tell me this when I called in to cancel membership initially? OF COURSE NOT, because then they would not be maximizing the most amount of money they could make off of us!! So I ended up paying around $600 for classes that we were unable to participate in and that went beyond the time frame of the six month contract I signed. Sure they were entitled to do this legally (maybe), but wouldn't a business owner use integrity and flexibility when working with completely reasonable people to accommodate them to make a good name for themselves? I guess what it comes down to is it's all about the money with these people. I'm just thankful to have had the money to pay for this unexpected expense. I feel bad for people who might not because Seafood Ramen made it very clear that he would be sending me to collections if he didn't get his money... dude basically made me cry over the phone. con artist be aware!!!!!! I signed my son up and explained that we would need to take a break about 6 months in for football and would only sign up if we could take a break. I tried to follow what they told me to put my membership on hold but no one I spoke to would help. They all said basically I was stuck. I explained over and over again that it was just a temporary pause and we has every intention on returning. After I sent an email to their Roseville office explaining this I never heard back. We went to football and tried to return like normal but they told me my account with them was in default and we could not attend classes until it was paid. I wrote another email and again did not hear back. Since I had heard nothing and could do nothing to rectify this situation I let it be. Well today I open my mail and they are suing me for the full amount. I called to try and speak to their lawyer and explain what happened and he just said "get a lawyer" . They are not concerned with the kids in the program only money. read more

There are many Martial art studios out there but most of them are not as family oriented as it is here!! I love it here! Sifu Dillman is amazing! I spent a year here and sadly, the money and the relations put into it went to waist. The owner may seem nice but he is a con artist. You can sign up and be able to have no problem getting yourself or your children to join, but if you want to leave or take a break from it, your going to have a hard time. My family wanted to take a break and so we did, we left and thought we had things handled, we were charged for a month we were not there, and these prices were not cheap. We ended up having to pay for a whole month we were not there. Then we got charged for another month and so we paid, the money was claimed through my father when this was happening, everything was situated after that with the owner and in paper. A whole year later we are charged again, it was not my father who it got claimed through it was my mother! Turns out the owner tried claiming it from my mom by having people from out of the country call our home phone, a phone number that was given to the owner originally, after attempting they ended up failing. I was in the area today and I wanted to say hi to my past instructors, (I had also never been a part of the money issue) I go in and greet the instructors but when I went to greet the owner, he was on the phone so I was courteous and waited, when he hung up he looked me dead in the eye and shook my hand, I said hi and he then responded with the remark I was no longer welcome on his campus in a rude and hurtful fashion, my family tried our hardest with him but this was the point where he crossed the line, I ended up leaving after he said that. This goes without saying if you want to be played by a con artist, go ahead and join this group, but if not, I highly recommend you don't join. read more

It was good for the first few months but make sure you keep track of your payments, they claimed we were two months behind. We paid over $300 a month for 2 lessons a week. We have never been more then 15 days late and knew we would be every month due to payday dates. He has no problem speaking rude to you in front of other guests/members and refuses to apologize when proven wrong. All he cares about is the money and is only rude to my handicap girlfriend when I dont come with her. Sending her home in tears on the regular. They aren't worth what they charge and had to recently close a shop, im sure do to their lack proper customer service. It is Dillmans way or no way and he has no problem constantly threatening to kick us out and charge us the remaining contract simply because hes over working with my girlfriend in a wheelchair. Acts all nice and helpful until you sign that contract, DONT DO IT!!! They are also not welcome to most tournaments. He claims cause its all "politics" which he failed to tell us when he knew that was why we signed up. He is just simply a horrible business man. I've searched the Roseville/Rocklin/Citrus Heights area for a martial arts program and have found a home here. Enrollment includes hours of group classes per week (includes Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qu Gong, Yoga, and Lion Dance). You also get weekly one on one sessions with a very qualified instructor. The style is Choy Li Fut which has lineage dating back to the Shoalin Temple. The instructors work around your schedule and are flexible when make ups are needed (important for me due to work). I've been going here for a year so far and will continue indefinitely. Well worth the money. read more
