The staff at BOR were very receptive and responsive to my needs and arranged to replace my converters. Unfortunately, after all their hard work my check engine light came back. It turns out that when BOR discussed my repair options I opted for the cheap route and asked them to buy aftermarket converters. When I came back they found an exhaust leak and fixed that, and the light came back a second time I relented and asked them to get OEM converters. The OEM converters fixed the problem and my pickup is running great again! I have nothing but praise for how BOR worked with me, accommodated all my choices, and bent over backwards to help me get my truck working.

Better Off-Road? More Like Better Off Somewhere Else…read more I brought my 2002 Suburban Z71 to Better Off-Road with a clear, detailed diagnostic summary--11 specific issues, complete with history, symptoms, and codes. I gave them every benefit of the doubt. What I got in return was a $10,000 engine replacement estimate and a lazy guess. After eight full days of silence, they finally looked at the truck and performed a basic compression test. They found low readings on two cylinders and immediately recommended a full engine swap. No leak-down test. No spark plug inspection. No timing verification. Just a vague shrug and a five-figure solution. Here's the kicker: * They performed the wrong test first * Then charged again to do the right one * That's double billing for diagnostic failure A leak-down test is the industry standard when compression is low--it tells you why it's low. They didn't perform one until I hounded them. That's not oversight. That's negligence. When I finally arranged a tow to get it out of there on October 22, they refused to release the vehicle until I paid. Fair enough--but their phones were "offline for two days," yet their voicemail worked. Convenient. Then they charged me a 3% fee for using a Visa card. That's not standard. That's gouging. The technician who texted me couldn't write a coherent sentence. His diagnosis read like a fifth-grade book report. I wouldn't trust this shop to change a bicycle tire, let alone diagnose a complex engine issue. Bottom line: * They ignored a detailed diagnostic roadmap * They charged for incomplete diagnostics * They double-billed for doing it right * They stalled communication for eight days * They misrepresented fees * They showed zero professionalism I paid the bill because I honor my commitments. But they didn't honor theirs. I'll never go back--and I hope no one else does either. --David W. Klieman

Do not bring your vehicle here. This shop is poorly managed and, based on my experience, I would…read morenot recommend it. We brought in our 2500HD Silverado to get an estimate for bodywork and an airbrushing job that was going to be covered by insurance. The truck was dropped off specifically so they could prepare an estimate for the body and paint work. Instead, they sent us an estimate for nearly $15,000 that barely addressed what we actually requested. It was filled with miscellaneous mechanical items that either weren't needed or made no sense. For example, they tried to charge for transmission filters and fluid even though the service had just been completed. On a 2500HD Silverado, there are two transmission filters, yet the estimate only listed one. They also wanted to replace the brake rotors simply because they had surface rust, which is completely normal on a vehicle that isn't driven every day. We immediately contacted them and explained that we wanted an estimate for the body repairs and paint work, not unnecessary mechanical repairs. Despite reaching out repeatedly over the course of several weeks, we never received a revised estimate. When we decided to pick up the truck, things got even worse. Our calls and texts went unanswered. We eventually drove two hours to the shop during their posted business hours, only to find it closed with no way to retrieve our vehicle. After more attempts to contact them, we finally received a text saying we could pick it up two days later. The lack of communication, the questionable estimate, and the overall unprofessional experience made this one of the worst experiences I've had with an auto shop. Based on my experience, I'd strongly recommend reading the other negative reviews before deciding to bring your vehicle here. We took this truck to a different shop and they saw the estimate we were given and said it complete nonsense what they were trying to bill us for.

Don't get me wrong, the guys are super chill but lack professionalism. Frankie, I have that 100 still. I'll get it back to you when my car is one color, with no bubbles, drips or missed spots. Very disappointed with our experience at Anacortes Ford…read more My daughter put down a $1,000 non-refundable deposit on a Bronco. We understood when the deposit was made that it was considered non-refundable. However, the vehicle ended up being delayed, and because of the delay, she ultimately had to make a different decision and purchased a vehicle elsewhere. We reached out to Anacortes Ford hoping they would take the circumstances into consideration and refund the deposit, especially since the timeline for the vehicle had changed. Unfortunately, they chose to keep the entire $1,000. I understand having a deposit policy, but I also believe there are situations where a dealership can choose to work with a customer--especially when the vehicle isn't available within the timeframe originally expected. $1,000 is a significant amount of money, particularly for a young person making a major purchase. They may technically be within their policy, but the way this was handled left us extremely disappointed. Customer service and goodwill matter, and unfortunately this experience has made us hesitant to do business with Anacortes Ford in the future

Our car was in Frontier Ford's possession for two months, two weeks, and three days, yet it was…read moreonly worked on in the final week. This was the most incompetent service I've ever experienced--not just from a service center, but from any business. I strongly urge you: do not have your vehicle serviced here. If you don't already own a Ford, don't buy one, so you can avoid ever being forced to deal with Frontier Ford. The ordeal began June 12, 2025, when Frontier Ford picked up our car with a check engine light. By the next business day, most competent service centers provide a diagnosis and estimate. Frontier Ford didn't call. When we followed up, they said it was a coolant leak. The next day, they escalated that into "the coolant leak destroyed your entire engine," quoting $12,000+ for repairs--more than the car was worth. Panicked, we rushed to buy a replacement vehicle. Frontier Ford's sales department offered us $100 for our car--essentially the value of two wiper blades. Thankfully, our original dealership (Bill Pierre Ford) reminded us we had purchased an extended warranty that covered the repair. Frontier Ford, instead of looking this up through their own VIN portals (as every other service center I've dealt with has done), blamed us for not telling them about our warranty at drop-off. The next 10 weeks became an endless cycle of chasing updates. Frontier Ford almost never called us--we had to call them weekly, often multiple times. 80% of the time our service agent was "busy" or "on break" and never returned messages. They gave contradictory explanations: first, waiting on Ford Corporate to decide if the warranty would be honored; then waiting on clarification about which engine could be installed. In the meantime, our insurance device was unplugged without notice, causing billing issues. Our assigned agent eventually "departed," and the Service Manager took over. He admitted he could do nothing but "email Ford Corporate." Often he wasn't even on-site despite saying he would be. When we finally reached him, explanations shifted again. At one point, they claimed the holdup was because their technician's ID number hadn't been updated, so all communications from Ford Corporate were being misrouted to another dealership. The following week, they admitted Ford Corporate hadn't actually approved the work. Every promised milestone--approval, parts ordered, parts arriving, repairs starting--was missed, repeatedly, for weeks at a time. Finally, on August 22--after more than two months--we learned our car was actually in a repair bay. On August 26, Frontier Ford called to say the repairs were complete. When returned, the car was filthy, with a red stain on the driver's handle and debris all over the floor. After several complaints, they reluctantly picked it up, washed it, and returned it in an acceptable state. Even the final delivery was botched: the driver didn't show up on the promised date, forcing us to reschedule. Throughout this ordeal, we lost PTO hours, spent extra money on gas and ferries, borrowed cars, and wasted countless hours trying to get updates. The entire summer of our family life was disrupted by Frontier Ford's delays, excuses, and incompetence. Every deadline was missed. Communication was abysmal. Explanations were contradictory. Promises were broken. Actual repair work took only the last week of the entire 10+ week ordeal. At least they waived the $100 warranty deductible--the same amount they first offered to "buy" our car. If you read other reviews, you'll see this is not an isolated incident. Frontier Ford repeatedly leaves customers stranded with long delays, poor communication, and endless excuses. Final warning: Do not service your vehicle here. Do not buy a Ford if it means you'll ever have to.
