Very hard review due to the mixed feelings I have about this place. My first impression was over…read morethe phone when I asked about check in time I was told it is 3pm and if you want to check in before it is an additional 25 dollar fee, seriously? yes even if the site is available, ok so what do I do if my GPS takes me there and arrive at 2:40 and she said you still have to pay the 25 dollar fee or you can wait at a nearby Walmart. Gave me the impression that is not a customer friendly campground. I wasn't given the discount because I didn't ask for it, no refunds after the site has been reserved, no credits either. Upon arrival we were waiting to be checked in behind a Class A rig by the gate house and due to the size of the Class A I could not read the tiny sign indicating that if there was nobody at the gate to come inside, finally when that rig moved I realized I had to go inside, another 5 or six minutes wasted after 3pm no big deal but it adds up to my initial disconformity. The place is huge! I have never been to a campground with over 1000 sites not one hundred but one thousand! Very hard water but that is not their fault, city water. Got to our site and it looks ok but but but it is not concrete and it is not gravel, it is a combination of dirt sand and leaves. That tells me the site may have been vacant for several days and the 25 dollar fee is not even justified because I am not rushing employees to clean up the site that just became available the day of my arrival. Dirt and sand, no problem as long as there is no rain because I brought my 14 X 14 rug but guess what it rained all day the day before our departure and it was a bit of a mess even if we take our shoes off inside the coach. We didn't partake in any of the amenities available like the water park and the corn hole etc because of the convention we were attending here and BTW the facility we were given was very nice to accommodate about 80 plus of us. I take one star for the fact that my site wasn't quite level and for the dirt, it is not even gravel for goodness sake. I wouldn't call it a resort unless every site was concrete Would I come back? Yes just because the beach right there a few feet from the sites that are closest to the Information Center where we gather every day for our conference. It turns out they give a discount but they won't offer it to you unless you ASK for it and because I didn't ask at the time I booked they refused to refund because it is run by a corporation with dozens and tens of dozens of employees. Inclined to take two stars but because I had a great time with our new friends at the convention I am leaving this place very happy and wishing to come back when it is not raining ALL DAY with a bloody mess on my shoes with all the dirt and sand. Water park inside for the youngins but the dirt and sand prevents me from calling a five star resort but a four star campground

But not our idea of family friendly - yes there are lots of things to do like beach, Putt/putt and arcade (extra $) but for relaxing, walking or riding bikes it's terrible due to heavy traffic of constant golf carts and vehicles. If you don't bring your own fire ring you have to rent one if you want a campfire. Almost all sites are dirt/gravel and they are super close on all sides.

The staff are so welcoming, inclusive, and helped our shy girl come out of her shell. Each day she came home raving about the fun time she had and was so excited to share the stories she learned and discussed from the Bible. The staff was thoughtful and gave her a children's Bible of her own and wrote a beautiful message in the cover and even put a bookmark on their favorite Bible story. Can not say thank you enough to those folks, needless to say we will definitely be doing this again next time we're down here during the week.

From the moment leaving our bus to board the paddle boat to the very end when we returned to the dock everything was great. The entire crew and staff were the nicest people they really seemed glad and happy that we were there. The chicken and pork loin buffet was excellent , the bar service was great (not real pricey) and the singer/entertainment was exceptional. You will not be disappointed with this 3 hour cruise. I hope our subdivision repeats annually.

There are clean restrooms available to guests. There is a restaurant, Archies (the old Capt. Poo's) right by the marina for drinks and food. Offered me the fuel dock since it was end of day and figured no one would come in for fuel in aftermath of Tropical Storm Eta (2020). Told me to stay on boat during rain and worry about check-in and payment later. Ended up leaving early in morning before they opened. I called later in day to remit payment for stay and they were so appreciative of that they gave me a discount. Will stay there again if I come back that way. Excellent way to run a business.
