DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP IF YOU ARE A WOMAN. I would give zero stars if I could. Mr. Han will jerk you around take advantage of you and make you keep coming back over and over and treat you like shit in the process. He also will not speak to directly and instead get his assistant maintenance workers to do it for him. Also no matter what time in the day you go or what day of the month you go it will take you two hours to sit in that line. You will have a better chance in literally any other shop in the area or out. There is no urgency in the shop whatsoever and they take cash only but their ATM is down. SAVE YOURSELF. read more

I have been taking my car to hans for years they have alway been good with inspections. Today despite the long lines waiting i noticed they were allowing others to slip ahead of the line. Because of that it took almost 3 hours to get inspected and i only had i only had 5 cars ahead of me when i pulled in expecting about 2 hours max. read more

I had been going there with all of my vehicles for almost 15 years while Mr. Han owned the shop. He was very honest and very good. Then after he sold the shop a few months ago I brought my vehicle in for a brake issue and the new owner had my vehicle in the shop for 4 WEEKS trying unsuccessfully to diagnose the issue. In my opinion one problem is that he has no knowledgeable mechanics working there! After 4 weeks without my vehicle and the new owner replacing one part after another, I had the vehicle towed from there to the Nissan dealership. Within a few days they diagnosed the problem and had it fixed. Turns out Windsor Park Exxon installed 2 parts incorrectly! One was the passenger side caliper and the other was the brake booster. I would recommend NOT TO GO TO WINDSOR PARK EXXON! read more

Only come here for an inspection if your car is 110% mechanically sound. Kev will cut you some slack on certain things that aren't huge safety hazards, but Han plays by the law, full-on. Don't get pissed at them if you aren't taking good care of your whip. They are ESL, so be patient and be polite when they explain things to you and you are having difficulties understanding. Just ask again to clarify the little details you need most. read more

The reason this little shop is busy is because they are good. Mr. Han (formerly Mr. Kim) is very fair and reasonable with his prices. Quality of work has also been good plus they have given me good references on other auto related businesses (tires, etc.). Most importantly, the people I have sent there have been treated well. I have used this station for car inspections for years. I bought truck new in 1999 and ten or 12 years ago I got a stone chip 3/4' above the bottom of the windshield in front of the VIN. Clearly below the 3 inch minimum line called required rejection. The current inspector there rejected it and his supervisor refused to make him remove the rejection sticker. I came back the next morning with highlighted copies of 19VAC30-7--210, Glass and Glazing. I included the entire section on rejecting windshields and highlighted in yellow the specific exclusion that applied to the chip that they rejected my truck for. They again refused to remove the rejection sticker. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am attempting to figure out how to file a claim in the Small Claims court. This is NOT the same station/management it has been in the past. Go somewhere else! read more

FYI: Let car inspection tech know where your wheel lock key is located before they begin car inspection and use car lift. I have been coming to this service station to get my car inspected for the past three years and had never had any problems. So, I was surprised when inspection tech came to get me to ask for the wheel lock key? In an unprofessional manner he said that I should have told him where it was before the car lift "it was wasting time!" I was confused and apologetic but I assumed since this particular car has been inspected at this service station before, that everything was okay and they knew where everything was; I have never been asked for any kind of key. I was disappointed by his unprofessionalism and unapologetic attitude and feel apprehensive about returning for an inspection next year. read more

I got here 20min early so I could be first for the oil change. They took me in about 5min before they opened (which was nice). The woman's bathroom is super clean, and even has a button to press if it needs to be cleaned. The seating inside is tiny, only two chairs in the corner, but it's a super nice day and I am sitting outside on the bench. The oil change should be 30 min, I've now been here for 40 min. They even let the guy after me go already... but I'll try not to get irritated by it if they let me out in 50min. I just believe that when they give you a certain time frame, they should stick with it. It's a pet peeve of mine, especially when I am the only person here. The lady is nice here and she does a good job keeping the store clean. So it has been 50min and I still have to pay. It shouldn't take this long when I'm the only one here. Is there a negative stars option?? I brought my vehicle here for inspection... it failed. I waited for 3 1/2 hours for them to replace the master cylinder. as they were closing the mechanic informed me that they had the wrong part and that they were putting a rejection sticker on my car. They put it back together and told me to come back the next day and they would have the correct repair part. The next day was Saturday. I called several times and was finally told late in the day that the part would not be in until Monday. I drove my car to work on Monday and it started making awful noises. The mechanic left a rag under the hood to get twisted up in a belt. I called and was told by the gentleman (service manager??) on the phone that he didn't do it... not I'm sorry... not we made a mistake... IT WASN'T ME!!! I asked if the part was in & he told me not now maybe tomorrow. I told him I was unhappy and he told me "just bring it in now, OK!!" Apparently, my part materialized out of thin air??? It would also be helpful if someone there spoke English! And not the bubba on the cash register who wants to very slooooowly tell customers the many reasons he is unhapy with his job. read more

If anyone is thinking about taking a vehicle to Windsor Park Chevron in Newport News, VA for ANY auto work. Please don't. My car broke down in August they said that it was starter, So they replaced it. Six weeks later the car broke down again with the same symptoms. Again we had them to tow it. This time they said that it was a fuse that had blown. Again we were charged. Two weeks later the car broke down again, this time they said it was a fuse again. They charged us for towing since they had just replaced a fuse two weeks ago. three days later the car broke down again. my husband changed the same fuses that they supposedly had changed the two previous times. one by one the fuses blew. so we had the car towed to another auto shop that was closer to the fourth breakdown area. anyway we were not taking the car back to them anymore. it was clear that they had no idea of what was really wrong with the car. my husband and i both asked where they had gotten the starter from the mechanic Kevin said that he did not know. this statement clearly confirmed all of our doubts about this shop. any time a mechanic says that he does not know where he bought a starter from for a car. but he did note that he had to return the old starter in order to get a coil charge. By the second time we clearly knew that it was not the starter, plus the car kept breaking down in the Newport news area. we figured that the car was under warranty since each time the car was doing the same thing. we thought the starter may have been bad that they had replaced. since it was still under warranty we should not have been getting charged. Each additional breakdown it was not the starter, but the starter relay switch. once the car was turned off, it would not start at random. the lights, horn, door noises all still worked. which ruled out the battery. Bypass Auto in Saluda finally fixed our vehicle. They knew exactly what was wrong with the car after my husband had described what the car had been doing. especially after all the previous breakdowns. Windsor Park Chevron mechanics are not trained and are very incompetent when it comes to fixing vehicles. They will give you the runaround about where they purchase parts from. they would not answer the telephone when we called to talk to them. the fourth breakdown mind you that we had just picked up our vehicle three days before from Windsor Park Chevron. My husband spoke with the mechanic Mike and told him about this fourth breakdown. Mike asked if we needed to have the car towed back in. Yeah right, we had given them three chances to fix the car. and we had definitely given them enough money for the wrong diagnose, and frequent breakdowns. To have had the car towed from Saluda to Newport News would have probably been $250 or more. When we spoke with the owner Kim Young, he stated that we should have brought the car back to them for the fourth breakdown that by the process of elimination he knew that it was not the starter. I would like to know then if by process of elimination they would have figured out that it was not the starter. What did they really do for the two previous breakdowns. Did they really replace fuses or was this one of there many lies being told. Kim Young was quick to state that had they fixed the vehicle the fourth time, we would have still been charged. These people call themselves certified mechanics and auto shop repair manager. They would have still charged us for the starter relay switch, when they replaced a perfectly good starter. Because they diagnosed the vehicle wrong three times. They repalced the starter, okay the car was still breaking dwon with the same symptoms. They should have opened their eyes and said since we replaced the starter and this vehicle is still doing the same thing. Maybe there is something else that is very wrong with this vehicel that we have overlooked. Kim Young could only say that it was not the starter, no kidding. you replaced a perfectly good starter, and the car broke down three more times after that. Instead of making up excuses, Kim and Kevin should done have their jobs and diagnosed the car further instead of guessing. MY WORDS FOR ANYONE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO WINDSOR PARK CHEVRON, I WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE TO PUMP UP MY TIRE. The mechanic is certifed alright. certified in not knowing what he is doing, and certified at ripping people off. I am sure that we were not the first ones that they have ripped off with a vehicle. think about what i have written. i contacted the BBB they could not do anything since I had taken the car to the other shop to get fixed. any time they have a sign across the shop that says we have our own parts. they lied from the time that they towed our car. we should ahve known better than to trust them, since we could barely understand a word that they sai read more
